The technician that worked on our above ground pool, I believe her name is AJ, is wonderful and very knowledgeable. She thoroughly inspected all of our equipment and managed to get our pool filtration system running better than it has in years (we tried several other pool services before JIT). When we eventually needed a replacement pump, she did a wonderful job installing the new one and we have had no problems since!

***BEWARE*** SEE ALL REVIEWS BEFORE CONTACTING THIS BUSINESS! GOOGLE YELP AND ALSO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. This company is a fraud and they scam people. I contacted for an appointment that they never confirmed and just showed up. They came to diagnose my hot tub because I had an “Open Flow Switch Error” on my spa. The tech was here and said that it was my board and it would cost anywhere from $1500 to $2500. He then proceeded to tell me he had to come back and close the spa which cost $250 until my electric was fixed because mentioned it had to be my electric that was burning my board. Now he’s not an electrician but I put trust in him because he is the professional. I had two electricians paid $475 for a load test and diagnostic. They both mentioned no need to upgrade I am still below the 80% threshold and everything was good. The tech from just in time pools also said that the hot tub should not be connected to a 50amp breaker and it had to be 60amp. Well the Manuel stated it can be either or so he was wrong. When i contacted the company back to come and open my hot tub and also change the board they could only text me not even call me and REFUSED SERVICE. This was their response. “I spoke to the owner regarding this. Unfortunately there is not much more I am able to do. We are very short staffed and I just found out we are not doing residential work any longer “ They could not even call me to tell me this after requesting to have a manager or owner call me they refused to. When I call it always goes to a VM saying “you have reached Kathy from just in time pool” don’t believe me call the number and see if they answer your call. I called another company and technician and they resolved my spa problem in 30 minutes and said it the flow switch changed it and charged me under $200. The technician from “JUST IN TIME POOLS” recommended I change my panel to a 200amp service and upgrade from 50amp connection to the tub to a 60amp connection and then change the board which all in all would of cost me upwards of $7,000.00 for an issue that was fixed by another company for under $200. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY THEY SCAM CUSTOMER AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE.

Hayley Carter July 6th, 2021 993 Springdale Dr Hobart, IN 46342 (219) 902-9371 hwebdell@att.net Just in Time Pool & Spa (D/B/A) PO Box 5251 Oak Brook, IL 60522 I have never received a bill/statement from your company showing services performed and balance due on the account. I received 1 voicemail and called to speak with someone about it. I was told I would need to speak with the general manager/owner and that my information was being taken down and I would receive a call back. This never happened. I did however receive a notice from Keynote Consulting Inc that my account had been sent to collections in the amount of $1,067.09, despite an agreed upon out-of-pocket cost of $240.53 prior to work being completed. I have reached out to the accounts receivable management/collections team and am disputing the validity of this debt. When I spoke to Cassie, I was told that the technician made a mistake and assumed because the work order stated “warranty” on it, that any additional fees had already been submitted and approved by the warranty company or myself as the homeowner. As a business owner, you need to take responsibility for your employees and the reputation of your company. You can’t just charge an additional $826.56 without getting approval for the work order. Therefore, it is not my responsibility to pay for this employee’s mistakes and assumptions. Had someone returned my call, we could have discussed this professionally and determined the best course of action to have this issue resolved. However, as no one from your facility ever contacted me, I was expecting to receive a bill/statement in the mail. Of course that never happened either and my account was turned over to collections. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and any other organizations that deal with shady business practices in the state of Illinois. If you would like to contact me, please remove my account from collections, send me a statement of services provided and we can come to a reasonable compromise.

The initially technician that came out was very knowledgeable. He got in early in the season while they were very busy to get it done for me which I appreciated very much. He replaced the pool heater and the price was fair. The problem started when they sent out their technician to problem solve the broken auto cover for the pool. The technician assessed the situation and told me that the problem was that the ropes were old and needed replacement. She said that the motor was not the problem. This was a relief to me because another company also looked at the job and told me I would need to replace the motor which was quite expensive. I agreed to have her do the work. The price for this as I recall was about $1200. The technician completed the work but the cover was still not working. I then called the company and they informed me that I will need a new motor. In addition they damaged a part that was connected to the motor and that would have to be replaced as well. Also they there was a broken cement tile covering the pool cover roll. They were supposed to remove the broken tile and replace it with the one extra tile that we had. After replacing the extra tile they actually dropped and broke another tile from a different location. At this point we had no replacement tiles. The technician informed me that I shouldn't worry about it because they could glue it. At this point the job quote ballooned to around $4500. I told them I was not ok with them "glueing " the broken tile. They had me send them pictures of it. They called to tell me they could remold the broken tile. I asked them how they intended to match the new cement tile to the existing deck surface. I also asked them to send me an itemized bill for the work that had been completed. That was back in October 2015. I never heard back from Just in time Pool until December 2nd when I got a call from a collection agency regarding the bill. I initially assumed Just in Time walked away from the job because they did not want to deal with the damage they did to the motor component and the broken deck tile. I relied on their expertise to diagnose the problem with the autocover. Their assessment was incorrect which practically quadrupled the estimated cost of the job. I would not have replaced the cover if I knew it would cost $4500. As far as I am concerned they can remove the replacement ropes and return the original ones because they were not the source of the problem and they don't do me any good with a broken motor. Overall, I thought this was very unprofessional.

Response from Just In Time Pool & Spa Service
Upon original diagnosis the technician found visual damage to the ropes of the pool autocover. Once the ropes were replaced, the autocover then placed a load on the motor. It was found that the motor lacked horsepower to move the autocover, and this test could not be performed until adequate ropes were installed. When multiple problems may exist we start with the most basic and economical repair. It is not our practice to price out the most expensive part of the job without 100% certainty that it’s required. While inspecting the electric motor, the technician noticed water inside the motor housing. The customer then acknowledged that flooding would sometimes occur around the motor. The damaged pool deck the customer is claiming is a concrete block, similar to a brick paver. Please notice the picture of the cracked block laying in the grass. This photo was taken by another technician of Just In Time weeks before the rope repair. Also, please look closely at the other photos attached. Some pictures are from Just In Time, some are provided by the customer. The common theme is the age and condition of all the blocks. All of them are old with chips and cracks. As a reference, the value of a concrete block is $40.00.

We had a pretty major leak in our hot tub after it was moved across country. Another company came out multiple times and told me they couldn't find the leak--that the spa would have to be lifted to find it. Just in Time found the leak in just 2 visits, replaced the part and got the tub up an running. Could not be happier! Saved me hundreds of dollars!

Mike knew everything about my spa, even though it was 8 years old. He explained to me in advance what needed to be done. He was quick and did a good job. The price of the pump seemed a little high, at $460, but since no one else gave me an estimate, I don't know what the going rate was on the pump, other than most pumps that I saw on the internet were under $300.
Description of Work: I contacted 7 spa and pool repair companies. Just in Time was the only company that responded right away and said it could do the job. Their office manager, Kirsten, was very courteous and helpful. I had a leaking pump on an old spa. They sent out Mike and an assistant who were timely and also courteous.

They told me when they would be here and the they came when they promised. They finished the job in about 5 hours and charged me what they promised. As best I can tell they did a good job on the liner. They did not clean up very well at all and failed to put back some pool stuff that they moved and I had to call them back. The reason I put that I would not use them again is that they do not provide any pool repair services. So when they took the old liner off there was some rust on the pool itself and I wanted to have it sanded and painted but they don't do that and I had to put the liner over a rusty pool.

Mike (owner) was at pool side at 6:30 AM starting his work. He is no-nonsense when it comes to performing his job. He took the time to explain all the functions and operation of my pool since I just moved in this year. This was important to me.
