Description of Work: Jim was our main contractor for a nearly complete renovation of our rental home after a tenant left it in bad condition. He and his crew put in a new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, insulation, garage door and also did plumbing work. We were very pleased with the work and were able to sell our house.

+ 2 moreJim is very through when he does a job, and sees that it is done right. He found a match for the existing tile in the bathroom. Only the shower stall was replaced and repaired and not the whole bathroom was torn up. We are extremly pleased with his choice of tile and workmanship. It looks very nice.
Description of Work: Our shower stall in our bathroom needed to be replaced. The wall was torn off, hole in wall fixed, facet replaced, and one wall aligned so it was straight and not bowed, tiled & grouted.

+ -1 moreJim had to go through a lot of hoops to get the permit. Fianlly he got the permit, then the weaher played havit. He had to work around the rain & upcoming snow predictions. I contacted Angie's List the beginning of October. My mother-in-law wanted to know what we wanted for Christmas. We replied, " A New Roof". Well, Decemeber 6th, our wish come true. Shortly after the re-roof was done it rained. Unfortunately the pipe on the roof leaked once again. I called Jim, and he immedately had someone come out and fix the situation the next day as soon as the rain subsided. It has rained many times since the last repair, and finally no more leaks.
Description of Work: We hired Jim Hale to do our roofing job on his merits. He saw things that needed to be done and was willing to do them, like a new fan in the attic to help air circulation when the air conditioner would be on. Every time it rained we had a 1/2 bucket of water that dripped from a pipe from the roof down to our basement. Jim examined the situation and said he would take care of it. We had many people over the years look at the problem but didn't couldn't figure out why we were getting the water leak .One contractor knew where the problem stems from,but would not fix it, he told us we had to find someone else or do it ourselves. Since my husband had many health issues & surgeries since January, we had to find someone who could do the whole job. Jim was also considerate & kind to our dogs. Our dogs are put out of the way when we have work done, but in the past we had people abuse them while they were crated. A tarp was laid over the portion of the roof while the men were working, and the debris was picked up and hauled away. Our driveway needed no repairs after the work was done. Jim had sub contractors to do the job, and while he was suppervising things went well. Jim went through a lot of hoops to get the permit for the roof. We appreciate all he did,and are very pleased with the job that was done.

+ 0 moreHe came over and gave an "estimate" on the job. No details were put in writing and he seemed to want to talk about anything but the job. I was afraid if I hired him I would not know exactly what I was getting. He seemed very competent, but not a good business man.

+ 7 moreI had some water in my basement about 4 years ago and since my basement is paneled I needed to have the paneling taken off to see if there was a crack in the foundation. Jim Hale was highly recommended for the job. He took the paneling off and found that the water was coming from another source, not a crack in the foundation. He then did a tear-off on my roof and did an excellent job for a much lesser price than I was quoted by other roofers. Jim has subsequently remodeled both my bathrooms, completely gutted and remodeling my entire second floor for a very reasonable price. He does quality work, is very pleasant to do business with and his prices are extremely reasonable. Jim has done all of the improvements in my home since I bought it. I highly recommend Jim's Home Improvement and Roofing for any interior and exterior remodeling, plumbing, electrical work or roofing jobs.
Description of Work: Tear-off and replace roof, remodeled entire 2nd floor which included 2 bedrooms and half bath, electrical and plumbing work, remodeled 2 bathrooms, partial remodel to basement, new kitchen counters and dishwasher installed, painted entire 1st floor.
