Price was good and move went smoothly. movers were friendly.

We had a very pleasant sales experience. Randy, the owner, came to our house and provided an estimate. He was thorough and professional. His quote was not the lowest quote that we received, but based on meeting him in person and his description of his moving crew and services, we decided to use Dibble Moving. In addition, there were many very detailed on-line recommendations that recommended Dibble moving posted to various web site which helped sway us to use Dibble Moving. Unfortunately, the moving experience was not smooth. Randy's estimate was based on an estimated number of hours to complete the job and was exceeded. This made Dibble Moving more expensive than my other estimates. The crew did not show good care in moving our belongings. Some belongings were damaged. Others are still missing. We did not purchase the "insurance offered" by the moving company, so the loss was mine. The crew was messy and impolite. They made a mess of our old and new home. In early spring, I found windows left open throughout the house by the movers after they were done. Additionally, they left a great amount of debris (chips, food wrappers, soda cans, red bull, etc) around the old house which had to be cleaned up afterwards. Boxes were not unloaded into the proper rooms. For example, my office was full of boxes labeled "basement" and the basement had boxes labeled "master bedroom". This is a brief review, but having moved many times, this was the worst moving experience.

I went online to some site which forwards your moving needs to local companies, and received quotes from a couple of moving companies via email, based on what we told them of our home and furnishings. Dibble was the only company that insisted on coming out to do an on-site estimate, initially only sending an email with contact information. At first, I dismissed them for that very reason as I just didn't want to make the time for someone to come to my home and poke around. But they used a very effective technique: they later emailed me links to their BBB reports/grade as well as their competitors! Well, after checking those (as well as other review sites for both them and the other guys) I decided to make the time and was very glad I did. The owner, Randy, showed up on time and took about a half an hour to look over our home/belongings and give us a written quote. This was when we expected to be moving in April and so the quote reflected their prices for that month, which are lower than May and summer months. Their price to both pack and move was lower than the other companies' quotes for the move alone, so it was an easy decision. Well, to make a long story short we wound up not moving until the end of may and they still honored the discounted April price quote even with a short notice of less than a week! Another company would have charged us extra for having less than a 30-day notice, so we knew they were giving us a great deal. They showed up a little early on the pack day and it took their crew (about 10 guys) less than four hours to pack our 3BD home which included a VERY packed basement and garage. OK, so our neighbors thought a few of them looked a bit scruffy and ragtag but every one of them was polite, respectful, and worked hard and steadily the entire time. The following day, a crew of five showed up exactly on time and got right to it. They moved very quickly but were also very careful. In the end, the move took about 10 hours and everything arrived safely. They even swapped the gas dryers from the old house to the new house although that had not been mentioned when Randy was out for the quote. Our quote price was $3100 for packing and moving everything in the home; we wound up moving our clothing ourselves and gave away a few pieces of furniture but not enough that I thought it would make a difference to our moving price. Well, it did! When all was said and done, the total was $2400. When we reviewed the cost for packing (they charge per box packed) and took stock of all the boxes and packing materials used, it would have cost us that amount (or more) had we purchased those materials and packed it ourselves! (Moving boxes are outrageously expensive, in my opinion.) We'd never hired movers for a whole house move before so I have no idea what is expected tip-wise. We did not tip the guys on Pack Day, just the guys who were there to do the actual moving. There were about 10 packers, and then 4 of our 5 movers had been there for the packing. We tipped 40/pp and they all thanked us and seemed very happy with it. Now that everything is finally unpacked I can say that nothing was broken or damaged, nor was anything missing. We will absolutely use Dibble again, though I hope we won't be needing them again for a very long time.

The movers were on time and very professional. We were very impressed until we discovered that some items that meant a lot to us (jewelry, a lamp) were/are missing. We were further disappointed by the lack of a substantive response when we reported our stuff missing. We received a rather weak email washing their hands of our missing things.
