Phil promptly contacted me after my submission to Angie's list and came over to look at the project and submitted a bid that I thought was very fair. He brought in a crew so that everything was completed over the course of 3 days to minimize disruption. The project would have taken much longer with one or two painters. The crew was great -- friendly, professional and conscientious with their cleanup everyday. I added a couple of things in the process and my invoice was less than the original bid. I'm very happy with how the project went and I'm sure I will use Phil and his crew again. It's just nice to do business with nice people.

We used Blue Ribbon years ago for our old house for a small project and we hired Phil to paint our new home and we would hire him again for sure. We worked well with his recommended person at Benjamin Moore to select and coordinate colors and it went quite well.

It is extremely difficult to find a good reliable painting company. This is the second time I have used Blue Ribbon, the first was several years ago when I hired them to paint my father's house (interior) after he passed away. I was happy to see that the work quality was the same as before. There was quite a bit of drywall repair, wallpaper removal and painting to be done. On the first day five workers showed up and went right to work stripping wallpaper and repairing drywall. Overall it took three days. The guys were friendly, professional, and did a great job. You can tell they enjoy their work. They cleaned up the place as best they could each night, and tried to keep the drywall sanding dust to a minimum, which is always a challenge. I can recommend this company without hesitation. I will hire them again when needed.

I have hired Phil and his crew several times over the years to do multiple rooms in my home, including walls, ceilings, wallpaper removal, a skylight, and drywall repair. Every time the work is completed professionally and beautifully. This time they repaired some peeling spots on the ceiling and walls and added a fresh coat of paint. Looks good as new! I would highly recommend this company.

From the minute Phil came to my house he was the ultimate professional. He put covers on his shoes, gave me his certificate of insurance and a list of references without me even asking. He gave me a quote that was honest and fair. When it turned out that the job would take longer because he discovered the walls were not 'sized' before the wallpaper was originally hung, he called me immediately to discuss the situation and options. If you have ever removed wallpaper without the walls being prepped properly, it is a nightmare. The crew could not have been nicer and more caring about my project. It went very well. I was able to get an estimate quickly and schedule the work within a week of getting the estimate. I was able to get a discount on the labor because of having the work done during a slow season. The workers showed up on time, were polite, and cleaned up the work area at the end of each day. The rooms that they painted look great!

Blue Ribbon Painting took 2 days to respond to setup the estimate. Then the estimate appointment and estimate were done in a timely manner and, after receiving and agreeing to the estimate, the work started the next day. The price was over $1000 less than the other two estimates I received. The work was done in the 5 business days that was estimated, with 4 workers on the first 2 days and two on the second. The painting quality was very good. The drywall repair was good overall, but I was surprised to find that one ceiling joint (where two sloped walls joined in an angled joint) wasn't repaired to a straight seam. The repair fixed the gaps, but the resulting joint was wavy. I was told this was due to how the drywall was cut and joined, but I would have expected to have been informed when this was discovered and consulted about how to handle the situation. As I understand it, correction would require removing existing drywall and installing new drywall, but I wasn't given this option. I was also disappointed that while actual nail pops were repaired, nail "bulges" (nails that raised the drywall surface noticeably, but hadn't broken the surface of the drywall) were not addressed. However, in fairness, I hadn't explicitly set either of these expectations during the estimate process.

I contacted Blue Ribbon in December 2012 to get an estimate along with two other companies from AngiesList. Phil was responsive and quick in his estimate. It was a lot of work and detail and I was given the quote within a couple of days of his visit to our house. It was the most reasonable at the time, however around the same time I was also referred to another company by a relative that was a little bit cheaper, but within about a week I realized that this was at the cost of quick turnaround and possibly quality. At this point I called Phil back and he was able to work with us to get an updated and revised bid and we proceeded with the project. He had his crew in quickly and they worked efficiently. The original estimate of 1 week was overshot, however this was with the assumption of a whole crew. We had half that after the first day. Our own estimates were far longer than what Blue Ribbon actually took to get the job done. Phil and his crew were friendly and easy to work with. They did their best to work around us and make sure we had certain living space to use while the project was going on. Phil is very detail oriented, which is great in his line of work and was willing to do what was needed to make sure we were happy. Overall, this was a great experience and I would recommend Blue Ribbon.

Kept us advised co the finisher took his time to make sure it was done right, did great job taping off and painting. The owner was fair in pricing and wasn't pushy about adding extras. They even cleaned up their mess no need for me to even rent a dumpster.

Phil was great. We had a rush drywall job we need done and Phil was our savior! He came out promptly and finished the job in the small timeframe we gave him. Will definitely use him again in the future.

Terrific work and service. Always punctual, crew worked extremely hard. The wallpaper removal was a bear of a job due to mistakes and sloppy work done in the previous 80 years, hidden by the wallpaper. By the time they finished, the plaster wall looked new. For the work done under the wall-mount tv, they were extremely careful with the electronic equipment. Once again, great job. Once Phil started to work on the exterior wood siding he uncovered a nest of carpenter ants. He and my husband cleaned them out, then he repaired the damage they had done. After repairs, it looks as good as new. He fixed the problem areas of the gutters causing the water to run off on the siding, and even cleaned our gutters for us. **One of his guys even walked around our outside windows and caulked areas that looked like they needed it!** I cannot recommend these guys enough!!!

I had just closed on my townhouse and wanted to have it painted before I moved in. I had three estimates and Blue Ribbon was not only the lowest, but Phil was the most thorough and most professional in his estimate. I received a business card, certificate of insurance, and a list of references on the day of the estimate, which was a Saturday morning. Phil went around the house with me and took a lot of notes and discussed with me which type of paint should be used in which areas and why. He was very courteous and professional and I felt comfortable and confident in hiring his company to do the job. I did not meet any of the painters, as I hadn't moved in yet and also was at work while they painted, but I have no complaints about how they left my place. I would use Blue Ribbon again and I would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.
