+ 0 moreWe set up an appointment with Artistic Outdoor Lighting. Mike, the owner, came buy late in the evening. We spoke with Mike about an idea of what we wanted for highlights around the house. As we were looking over his previous customer photos, Mike went outside to set up a basic look. He actually brings out lights & puts them in place so you can see what it will look like. We were extremely pleased with the initial consultation so we asked Mike to send us a price for all the lighting we needed. After a couple of days, we received an email of the price. We sent a deposit & 2 weeks later the job was completed. Very Happy with the whole experience.
Description of Work: Complete setup of outdoor lighting in front & 1 side of the house.

+ -1 moreMike came to our home in the evening to discuss what we were looking for with landscape lighting. The key components of a system for us are expanding the use of our patio later in the evening, additional home security, quality and low maintenance. Mike brought portable lights and a power system to setup an example of what we asked for and what he envisioned. Because it was night we were able to visualize and make adjustments until we saw exactly what we were looking for. The total process took almost two hours but it was very enjoyable and well worth the time. Bottom line, we received exactly what we wanted and the price was exactly what Mike quoted us. No surprises other than we like our lighting system better than we thought we would. My wife and I highly recommend Mike and his team to all of our friends and neighbors.

Description of Work: Representative arranged consultation promptly and visited our home to set up proposed lighting for the front of our modest home. We were able to see exactly how it would look before committing. Discussed options for lowering cost (eliminating a few of the proposed lights); installed beautiful lighting that truly enhanced the nighttime look of our home within two weeks of consult. When lighting failed to come on two weeks later, came over that day to replace defective timer and all has worked perfectly since then. I highly recommend for their courtesy, promptness and lighting design.

+ -1 moreLike many homeowners, I was on the fence about investing a large amount of money in outdoor lighting. After seeing the dramatic change to our house, I am convinced that we made the right decision. Mike is passionate about what he does and is very knowledgeable. Mike is very trustworthy and I knew the night he came over to give us an estimate that if I was going to put in lights, I was going to use him. I asked Mike what the difference between me going to Home Depot and buying a nice kit vs choosing him and he patiently explained to me that the units at retail were not build to last and the connections would corrode over time. You can really tell the difference between the your retail lights and the lights Mike installed. The day before the install, I told Mike that I wanted 2 more lights and a different location for the transformer and he was able to overcome the fact that we didn't have an outlet in my desired location by installing a new outlet. The fixtures are very high quality and appear that they will last 20 years. Mike was a pleasure to work with and I would strongly encourage anyone reading this to hire him (you wont be disappointed). The house is so warm and inviting at night! Thanks

Description of Work: I contacted Artistic Outdoor Lighting to provide a quote to replace our front yard landscape lighting. He came out did his measurements, explained exactly what he would do, gave us a demonstration of how it would look and provided us with a quote. I thought the price was a bit high but I hoped the quality of the lighting would be better then the lights we had installed eight years ago. He gave us the Angie's List discount as advertised so we got a bit of a break. It took about a month for him to fit us in but we were pleasantly surprised when we returned from Thanksgiving vacation to see he had completed the installation. We noticed it the minute we drove into the driveway. My husband I and both felt the lighting was a bit dim, in comparison to what we had earlier so my husband called him and he came back (no charge) and changed the bulbs. We are very pleased with his work and the look it gives our home.

+ -1 moreWe spend a lot of summer evenings on our secluded, backyard patio. We had discussed adding some kind of landscaping lighting in the backyard for years. I went to Angie's list and found Artistic Outdoor Lighting. I was most intrigued with the idea of meeting at dusk to discuss what we wanted and then Mike Potucek set up a lighting display showing what he could provide. Mike rearranged his schedule in order for us to see his handywork before we left on vacation. We are extremely happy with the results and have had neighbors over just to admire his work.
Description of Work: Installation of seven uplight fixtures illuminating bushes and trees as well as three garden path lights around the patio. All connected to a 300watt transformer with timer. All wiring buried in the lawn area.

Mike is outstanding - very professional, responsive, on-time, listens, answered all our questions, and provided great ideas for the illumination design. The nighttime demonstration was invaluable. When the work was completed the only sign of them being at the house was the beautiful lighting. They removed and disposed of the old lighting. + -1 moreWhat a great experience! Mike did a great job with the design, set up and follow up concerns we had and we thought the price was very fair for what we got. He was accomodating to all of our requests and very professional in the way he approached the whole project. The crew he brought to do the install were neat and considerate of our home and did little extras that we really appreciated like rebuilding part of our paver walkway that they needed to remove to hide the wiring under and leaving it much better than it was before. We ended up with beautiful outdoor lighting. We would definitely use Artisitic Outdoor Lighting again.
Description of Work: Outdoor lighting for the front, side walkway and back patio area. Lighting for the landscaping as well as highlighting specific areas of the house and large trees. In addition, lighting to light up the walkway to the back patio as well as a large patio.

We were having a new front walk installed and Mike told us what and how to prepare for him. We delayed MIke as we waited for the walk to be finished and he showed up when we were ready and did the job in one day. The finished product looks great and it is exactly what I was expecting. Mike was easy to work with and did a good job of communicating. The final price was what we agreed on and he did not pressure us to do more than we wanted.

+ -1 more,We are quite particular about work done on our home, and I'm happy to say that we couldn't have asked for a better experience with a contractor than this! Mike was professional, friendly, and really pays attention to every detail, from that first phone call all the way through to installation. This entrepreneur is truly an artist, too. We gave him our ideas of how we wanted to use our yard in the evenings, and he took those ideas and added his expertise to transform our yard into a beautiful, useful extension of our home, any time of day or night. He highlighted a number of leafy trees with lighting (it reminds me of the night lighting at Ravinia!), as well as pine trees, rose bushes and walkways. We're looking forward to showing off our "new" yard to our friends and family this summer!
Description of Work: When we moved into our newly built home several years ago, we thought our screened-in porch and pool would be enough to get us to spend more time in our backyard, both during the daytime and into the evening. What we discovered was that although we spend most of our free time out there during the day, we rarely used it at night because the porch lights in the yard were too glaring and severe, and the lights inside the pool didn't illuminate anywhere beyond the pool. So after reading the great reviews for Artistic Outdoor Lighting on Angie's List, we called Mike to come out and give us a demonstration and a quote. Wow, were we impressed! Mike arrived on time on a Saturday night once the sun had gone down. He sat down with us and asked what we were looking to do, made a few suggestions, then went out into our yard to set up a lighting demonstration for us while we browsed his portfolio of pictures and reviews from previous customers. We were amazed at how quickly he transformed our previously dark, unwelcoming yard into basically a whole new outdoor living space for us! Within days he sent out a fair estimate, and we signed a contract with him. A few weeks later, Mike and another young man came out to install the lighting. They were polite, unobtrusive, and really left our yard looking better than they had found it (they had to pull up some paver stones to bury wiring, and when they replaced the stones, they were more level and secure than before). Installation was completed in one day.

The owner set up a mock display of lights in the front landscape to demonstrate his product and thoughts on design. We went with his suggestions. In no time the job was completed. I requested that the owner walk the property with me at nighttime to go over all the lights and how they showcase the house and landscape.Without any disagreement he did. A job well done.

We called Artistic Outdoor Lighting and met with Mike. He came to our home and spent so much time with us explaining and even giving us a demonstration of how our home would look when he would complete the work. He was extremely patient going through all the changes and additions we wanted to make. We felt that the pricing he gave us was very fair. Overall, we were extremely pleased with their work as well as their customer service. We found them to be easy to work with and extremely thorough.

After 4 or 5 years of maintenance service Artistic Outdoor Lighting is one of the most responsive services we utilize. While you initial think the service contract might be a little pricey - its worth it -highly recommended.

During our first meeting, he came to my home and we discussed how to best illuminate my backyard garden to enhance it's beauty and to provide added safety and security. Mike then set up lights in my garden to show me what the final lighting installation would look like. Although I had other estimates, this highly artistic detailed demonstration convinced me to hire Artistic Outdoor Lighting. Everything went well with this project from start to finish. Mike was prompt, responsive, and truly delivered what he promised. Although, there was a lot of digging in my yard over a period of several days, it was all done neatly and completely cleaned up when the work was finished. My garden looks like a beautiful, magical mini botanic garden. Guests to our home are so amazed at the transformation that they just stare and say, "WOW!" The lighting is not glaring, but soft and subtle; although it is certainly bright enough to provide the added benefit of security. We can now see where our dog is when we let her out in the evening. Mike truly knows what he is doing! My husband and I are so happy with the work, that we plan to hire Mike to design a lighting plan for our front yard next year. We highly recommend this company with no reservations whatsoever.
