Keith was very proficient and efficient. The audit went very well and I was provided with a written report of the findings.

I was very impressed with how thorough he was. He explained what he was doing, the results and answered my many questions during our whole house walk through. There was some delay with the report but nothing too bad and it contained the same information in writing along with a proposal for the repairs. The proposal was higher than expected and we have not completed any of the suggestions yet. However I would not hesitate to use this company again as I was more than satisfied by the audit.

All in all it went well. We had a bit of a miscommunication with scheduling in the beginning but they quickly rectified the situation and completed the work as said on the rescheduled date. The work was completed in about two days and we see a huge difference in our second floor already.

It was a very thorough inspection (took about one hour) and the inspector was very knowledgeable about home quality. He assessed window quality and possible leakage areas that could be addressed. Pointed out a mold issue in the garage and suggested how to resolve. Provided a full report with details of each part of inspection and also possible solutions and costs.

1 Temp Home was great with simply answering a question I had about excessive dust in my house. Although they couldn't help me, they gave me recommendations of companies that could help and also gave me tips on what to do.

We were surprised at how energy efficient our home is. 1 Temp recommended some changes to make certain rooms, which we already knew we had issues with, more comfortable. They provided a comprehensive report of all the items that needed attention as well as the costs to fix them. We will be using their services for some of these fixes. Great company!

Unfortunately, they were booked out a few weeks so I did have to wait for service, but this was the same with all providers I called. They were responsive to my input and concerns and made short work of the project. They missed one spot in the dormers with the foam insulation and when i pointed it out they happily hauled all their equipment back out of their truck and addressed my concerns. Overall a great experience.

Insulating the room above the garage turned out to be very messy. 1 Temp Home took the garage ceiling down, removed the old insulation (loose insulation), and then sprayed 8 inches of closed cell foam on the room floor/garage ceiling and 3 inches of foam on the room vertical walls. The worst part was taking the drywall down and getting rid of the insulation that fell on the garage floor. There was so much of it that we were afraid we would never be able to clean up the mess. But 1 Temp Home did it all. They did an incredible job on the cleanup and the foam installation. The best part is, their work made such a difference in this room. We never closed the door to this room (to prevent the cold air from coming into the rest of the house) this past winter. And that was with only the 5 inches of foam on the room floor/garage ceiling (5 inches were installed in late October of 2015 and 3 more inches were added in April of 2016). This part of the project was a huge undertaking, but we are so glad we did it. 1 Temp Home also added loose insulation in the attic to cover the entire house. They were very neat when they did this, and again, their work made a huge difference in heating the house. Our gas bill was significantly lower this past winter than the last. Granted, the winter was not as cold either, but we are sure that a good chunk of the gas usage decrease can be attributed to the improved insulation. It was a pleasure working with the entire 1 Temp Home crew, from their sales representative Chris, their working crew, all the way to Chris from the billing department. We would hire them again any time and therefore would highly recommend them to anyone. As for the price of their work, we think it was very fair. We priced 2 other companies prior to doing the work, and while 1 Temp Home was just a notch more expensive than the other two, they gave us a good vibe so we hired them. It was a very good choice. There was one point during the project when we were not completely satisfied with what was done. We asked 1 Temp Home to come back. They did it without any hesitation and fixed the issue without any push back. Two thumbs up to 1 Temp Home. Thank you for the excellent work.

For both the initial inspection and the actual work they arrived on time. The work they did was done quickly and efficiently and they cleaned up after themselves. Overall, we've got no complaints, hopefully the new insulation really makes a difference. As far as price goes, the price they quoted seemed good. They were the only company to recommend this specific type of insulation so comparing it to other companies doesn't really work. I would definitely recommend getting a quote from them, especially as it's free and easy to schedule and then if it makes sense I would have no hesitation using 1 Temp.

They told me they weren't interested in any job under $1000. Disappointing

Keith did a nice job with the home energy audit.

Technician showed up on time and performed multiple tests and evaluations of home energy efficiency. The tests included checking relative pressure of house, proper drafting, gas leaks, air leaks, blower test, and visual inspections. Excellent in explaining what would provide most bang for the buck, what would be nice, and what would not be worth it. Service was highly informative and recommended.

Provider blew in cellulose insulation in attic and sealed rim joists with spray foam. Everything went as expected, and we are very happy with the results. We did this in conjunction with an energy efficiency audit, which qualified us for a utility rebate. 1deg took care of processing rebate, and the rebate ended up being more than originally estimated.

The guy who came out was friendly and knowledgable...about insulation. The reason I didn't give an "A" is because I felt like the audit strictly caters to issues with insulation. The report came back and everything insulation related was poor and everything else was adequate. I agree that there are insulation issues, but I have old windows and I was assured that those weren't a problem. The windows get pretty drafty, which is why I am not totally convinced that they don't steer issues toward things they can fix. With that said, I still gave a B, because the guy gave great ideas and insight about insulation and how to make the home more efficient. He was thorough and provided an estimate for the work they do and he also was very good at explaining the issues. I'd definitely consider using them if and when I replace insulation.

The audit appeared to effectively measure air loss from within the house and suggest the possible source of moisture damage on an interior wall. Various insulation options were explained. The audit did not cover heating and air conditioning and our furnace failed about three weeks after the audit. It was over fifteen years old and inefficient. It was replaced by a supplier generally considered to be reputable. I would recommend the energy audit providing the consumer is fully advised of the coverage.

I had my attic completely cleaned and prepped for Insulation to be blown in. I thought this was going to be simple, just have insulation blown in to the necessary specs and I would be good to go. The salesperson came and gave me an estimate and told me that I could be eligible for rebates thru Nicor/Comed and the final amount would not be known until the work was completed and they did a test. Minor bumps with the initial installation process, mounds of insulation in the attic that looked like mountains and many flat spots. The workers were not the best, they tapped into my electrical panel to do their work and turned the sump off, and this caused a minor flood in the basement, which they did not tell me about or clean up themselves. When I contacted the company with my complaint, they were very apologetic and understanding; they sent someone immediately to spread the insulation evenly. They performed a blow test for the rebate and found the house to be too tight and that would make me ineligible for the rebates. Tom and Keith made multiple trips to verify and run different tests. They made cost effective recommendations on changes I needed to make and eventually performed additional work to bring fresh air into the house, they did not charge me for any of this. At the end not only did the house meet the rebate requirement, the rebates came out higher than I was originally quoted. Tom and Keith were good at explaining everything that needed to be done and worked around my schedule, late evenings and early mornings. Cannot say enough good things about Tom and Keith?s patience, professionalism and the genuine interest they took in making things right for me at no additional cost. I learned that it is not as easy as just putting insulation in the house and hoping all will work fine.

1 Temp was awesome. I had three quotes and these guys were by far the most knowledgeable and seemed the most "interested in doing what was best for us", if that makes sense. The guys who did the installation were punctual and worked their butts off in hot temperatures to knock the job out quickly. They weren't the cheapest quote we got, but I'm definitely glad I went with them. A few notes if you're looking into getting this type of work done. FIRST, ITS MESSY. No matter how much they/you try to prevent foam dust, etc, from getting everywhere, it will. The attic access was right in our newborns nursery so we were super anal about cleaning it. After the job was done, they did an initial cleaning but it was still pretty dusty and dirty. They were kind enough to come out again and clean again, but to be honest it was still dusty and not 100% -- I think it just takes time for the stuff in the air to settle, so things may seem clean then you come back in an hour and everything's dusty again. So, after they were kind enough to clean again I did a full-on, top-to-bottom, take everything out of the room, clean it and put everything back in cleaning and only then did it finally seem clean. It's nobodies fault and they did just about everything they could to clean up, but just be prepared to do more. If I could have done it over again, I would have draped the entire room where the attic access was with plastic. SECOND, IT SMELLS. I think the actual fumes go away quickly. 1 Temp did a lot of exhaust venting to ensure this. However, the smell stuck around for weeks. They came back and hooked up another exhaust fan and let it run for a few days to try and speed it up. It was smelly enough even after 5-6 days that my wife and I didn't feel comfortable letting our newborn sleep upstairs. Be prepared. THIRD, be prepared for a high electric bill. I guess the spray guns and the exhaust fans they use use a lot of energy because our bill was 4x what it usually is. FOURTH, and finally, spray foam (even 6-8" of the best stuff) isn't a silver bullet. It's definitely helped in our old bungalow home where the upstairs was 15+ degrees warmer than the first floor, but the temp difference is still there. Nothing a fan doesn't won't fix, but not exactly the 100% solution I'd hoped for. IN SUMMARY -- THESE GUYS ARE A++++ EXCELLENT AND YOU SHOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM FOR YOUR INSULATION NEEDS!

Matt Ward came to our 124 year old row home and evaluated both HVAC systems and made recommendations as to how to heat/cool our home more efficiently and effectively. Even though we are out of his service area, he gave us great recommendations as to how to keep our 3rd floor cooler in the summer and keep parts of our home warmer in the winter. And there was NOTHING in it for him as he cannot do the work/implement the solutions as we are not in his area. Very, very pleased that we got such great advice and recommendations from an expert in the field for FREE. Highly recommend.

They were very professional and installed the closed cell foam in one day. They managed to heat up the surface so it adhered, even though it was cold outside. The room is now the best insulated and most comfortable home in the house.

Matt Ward is one of the most hard working people in the HVAC business. He tirelessly worked on getting a stubborn hidden damper open to my bedroom which has made a remarkable difference on our comfort. Matt's a consummate professional and loves solving problems - I'm glad he solved mine! I have the company coming over this week to install insulation to even further help make my home more comfortable.

They hooked up a big fan to my front door and changed the pressure in the house to determine how long it would take for the air to change over (apparently my house is very leaky). I had some specific areas I was looking to fix and they gave some options. My budget did not fit these options.

Scheduling was easy, Keith the Auditor was professional, knowledgeable and very polite. I always like to know the nuts and bolts of what's going on, so as I followed Keith around, he was extremely accommodating and took the time to explain all sorts of things that were inside, and out of the scope of the job. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We received a quote months past when we were looking to replace our furnace. Ended up holding off on furnace install, but after starting a mini basement redo, we decided to go ahead with the spray foam insulation. We e-mailed and had a date set up for the following week. Installers arrived exactly on time and walked them through the area. Very good crew, and after they were done they walked me through the basement and let me check the job and thickness of the foam application. Found a couple areas to touch up which they did at that time. They then further explained the benefits we should see. Price was fair. Would consider them again.

From the initial consultation with Chris, to the actual work with John and his team, to working out our final bill with Rob and Lorrie was a great experience! The team was very professional, arrived on time both days. They went above and beyond in terms of providing services. For example out bath fans were not exhausting properly on our downstairs bathroom, and corrected the issue. Another issue we canThey pride themselves on doing the work right the first time around. The other issue we came across was mold in our upstairs bathroom due to improper exhausting, 1temp was quick to come up with a solution, they had a mold expert on staff spray the area and continued work the next day. We were definitely pleased with the services rendered as the post-blow door test showed that heat loss was reduced by 33%. They were efficient with helping us file the appropriate rebates with nicor for maximum savings.
