Based on a recommendation from my Uncle, who is retiring from his own security company, we hired John from Tri State Security to add some upgrades and complete the activation on an existing system, installed by my Uncle. We had quoted 3 different companies and chose John based on his availability and on his straight-forward pricing. The work was completed yesterday and we could not be happier with the service John provided! He came to our home thoroughly prepared and he was incredibly knowledgeable with solutions for all of our concerns. The estimate he gave when I first called him was very reasonable and consistent with what my Uncle told me to expect. Even when we ran into some issues, and John had to spend considerably more time on the system (by several hours!) he held true to what he quoted us. In addition, he was respectful of the work done by my uncle, even though it might not have been exactly how he would have done it. He was honest and up-front with his hourly rate, equipment costs, monitoring service costs, and he gave us clear expectations of the cost of any future service calls (which I found all to be reasonable). He stayed late and worked tirelessly to test out the system and make sure everything was working exactly as it should before he left our home. He even spent extra time programming descriptions for each zone so I didn't have continuously reference a "cheat sheet" I had created previously. I would fully recommend John to anyone in the market for a security system.

I called upon John to activate an existing ADT system in the townhome I'm leasing. John added a radio (a piece of equipment that will allow the home security system to work even if the phone wires are damaged or if there is a power outage). John also added alarms on 4 window units and another on a slider door. He painstakingly tested all the equipment in our 3 level home to insure the system worked properly. I would say the work took about 5 hours. Including equipment purchased and labor, the cost ran about 670.00, which is extremely competitive. I trust John as do my other family members to insure our safety. The monthly monitoring fees are decent too, and Tri-States response times outweigh the competitors. Thanks John! We feel safe again! John also came to my home in another suburb in 2009I
Description of Work: Activated existing ADT alarm system. Added fail-proof radio (for power loss or severed phone lines). Also installed alarms to four separate windows and also alarms to 2 slider doors off patio & balcony.
