This install couldn't have run smoother. They came out for a quote right away and provided a written detailed quote within a day or two. Once we decided to go with this company our date was set for only a couple weeks out. When the date came delivery & tear out occured promptly and the installers were very friendly and professional. They answered all our questions and proceeded with the install quickly and on time. Once finished the floors looked beautiful. Thanks for a great experience.

My son has a history of working in housing construction for 2 different builders. After hearing of my frustrating experience with another hardwood floor company that wasn't very responsive or communicative, he called Joe Spell & Sons and asked that they call me and set up a time to come out and bid on our job. Our son stated that in his work as a builders superintendent, the work that he saw of this company was excellent. He was sure we would be happy with how our floors would look after they completed the work.They called me and Kevin Spell came out. He talked with us, measured, wrote down our concerns, and emailed us his proposal that evening. We set up the time for them to come and do the work after we came back from our vacation. We stayed at some friends home about 15 minutes away. They sanded and covered everything they could. We have a very open floor plan so that was a challenge to say the least. Kevin confirmed the stain color with me by putting the stain on a small area of the floor and getting my approval before just doing the whole floor. He used a satin finish as I do not care for "shiny" floors. I'm sure if you like semi-gloss finish he also would apply that as well. The work was done well and in a timely manner. No short cuts were done and they waited the appropriate time between coats. They cleaned up quite well considering all the sanding that was done. I did run the furnace fan continuously for about 2 weeks afterward and put in new furnace filter just to clean out the air from all the carpenter dust from the sanding. They do have the sanding equipment that vacuums as they sand but anyone will tell you that this equipment does not collect 100% of all the dust generated.This is a very reputable company with good people. This is a family owned company for at least 3 generations. They have been doing floors for a long time. I'm so glad I have a hardwood floor company of this caliber for any of our future needs.
