I called Krope on a Thursday to schedule a service appointment for cleaning and inspecting my gas furnace. After getting it scheduled for the following Monday, she reminded me that they offered a $30 off coupon in a local Naperville calendar (Naperville Town Planner). So the normal $118 service charge would be $88. The appointment was set for Zach to arrive between 2:30pm and 3:00pm Monday. Zach arrived at 2:45pm, asked me a couple of questions about my furnace's operation, and promptly went to work. I told him I had already changed out the furnace filter, and also that I was planning to replace the saddle T on the humidifier, so he didn't need to check those items. He worked on the furnace for a good half-hour. I appreciated that he itemized the things that were done on the invoice. All in all, a good experience.

Needed to replace old air conditioner and decided to replace furnace at the same time. We asked for recommendations on fixing some issues with the airflow we had with the old system. Decided on the new air conditioner and furnace and another appointment both were installed. So far very happy and the air flow is so much better than before. So far the utility bill after putting in the new ac is half what the old system was for the same time period last year. Hoping for similar savings with the furnace. Have been using them for some time and always happy with the fact they tell us the truth.

My husband was impressed with this provider. There are no complaints. The tech explained everything needed. We would definitely call them again. The price was nothing outrageous.

Replaced heating system and returned 2 weeks latter to install the AC portion. This was my idea because of the heavy work load for repairs and replacements of other flood damaged equipment systems. I didn't need cooling but others needed heating. They returned promptly as scheduled and completed the work in less than 2 hours.

Both visits went very well. They are extremely professional, knowledgable and fair. My furnance is old 18+ years, but they are honest on what can be fixed and what cannot be fixed, so I can make a well informed decision. They care about their customers and treat you like they would like to be treated. I know my furnance is old and I initiated the conversation on cost for new system. They were honest and provided estimate of cost to fix first as well as estimates to new system for me to make a well informed decision. I would highly recommend their services.

100% satisfied. They worked in the house, under the house, in the back yard, on the roof. They had quoted several options in advance, and I am very pleased with what they recommended and installed. They also walked us through the rebate process with Comed and Nicor, and even intervened with the fulfillment center on our behalf, getting the rebate, which was being held up, released. Great after the fact support.

They were reliable and they seemed to do good work. The service man was good. We were pleased with them. The price was fair though not the lowest. I thought that the pricing was a little higher than what I was used to but the service was good.

The Service representative was very courteous, prompt and professional. We had Krope & Sons install an A/C unit and will continue to use them.

Tim came out and within 10 or 15 minutes knew exactly what the problem was. He had to return breifly to the office to get a part. Before he left he told me he wasn't sure if they had the part or not but either way he would be back to let me know. Tim installed the new ignitor and was finished within an hour. Very knowledgeable and professional with little wasted motion. Excellent service and experience.

The job was started on time and finished in the same day. Very neat work. We had no complaints, this past summer the new a/c could not have performed better...it was amazing how cool our home was. Now, looking forward to winter with our new furnace and lower gas bills. Would definitely recommend this company.

It's always great to deal directly with the owners. Everything was top notch. The estimate was detailed and complete. Krope and Son always answered our calls and questions promptly. They are very enthusiastic about their business and industry. My wife and I couldn't pull the trigger until late in December, but Krope and Son worked hard to completely install the new equipment in a single day before the end of the year so that we could claim the expiring Tax Credit. The price listed above is somewhat deceiving. We received an $800 rebate from the A/C manufacturer (rheem), a $200 rebate from Nicor, and a $1500 tax credit we will claim on our 2010 return. The price with the rebates made it about $500 more than it would have been for standard efficiency equipment. Mr. Krope handled all the paperwork for the Rheem rebate which we received it within weeks of the job. The estimate we received from Krope and Son was in line with the other estimates we received. The installation is beautiful. One might call it art. The fit and finish of everything in the basement is exactly perfect. No sharp or bent corners. Nothing out of place. During the install, the crew already set the new air return box on the floor and were cutting sheet metal for the next part. I asked if they could move the box off the floor in case we get seepage or water in the basement. Without complaint, they stopped their work, lifted the box off the floor with some 1/2" spacers of some sort, and continued on. That was great. Our home was very comfortable over the winter and we saved considerably on our fuel usage. We expect the same this summer. I absolutely recommend Krope and Son. They were great.

Mr. Krope was the most professional of all contractors with whom I spoke. He explained the work and equipment clearly. He did not try to sell me more than I needed, i.e., a new air conditioning unit. He and his crew arrived promptly on the originally set date for installation (no 2 or 3 postponements). Mr. Krope and his crew were very professional and efficient. They completed all the work in 1 day!

Tim Krope personally came out for the estimate. I had two other estimates -- both from Carrier dealers, but I went with Tim, who sells Rheem and Trane, because I like to do business with small businessmen who put their name and reputation on the line for their customers. Tim gave a thorough explanation of the a/c selection process, and answered all my questions. His price was lower than the other two. He gave me the first available opening, and his workers were there exactly when he said they would be. They were efficient and complete in their installation, and went over a checklist at the end to make sure I knew everything they did. There was not a speck of dirt anywhere inside, nor a broken plant outside. I would recommend them without hesitation.

The experience was excellent. Tim and his helper showed up on time (7:30am), and had the old boiler removed within a hour and a half. I was concerned about our new flooring but they took great care to avoid scratching or marring the finish. The work was completed by 5:00pm, everything was cleaned up and removed. The new boiler works like a charm The price quoted was very fair. I have had so many bad experiences with bad contractors that it was a pleasure to work with Tim. The company has been in business in Lisle at least as long as I've lived here (30+ years) and there is a reason for that.

The service was performed very well in one day. All new pipes were placed in out of the way spaces. They were on time, pleasant to work with, clearly explained what they would do and cleaned up after completing the job. I would recommend this firm and the Rheem AC that they installed. It is very quiet and the variable speed air handler does not click on and off so you don't notice it. The dehumidification is excellent.

Air conditioning system went out for the second time in 3 years so I decided to stop sinking money into the 15 year system that was put in by the builder. I had a couple of company's come out to quote but I was not happy with the level of helpfulness from the sales people who came out. A friend told me about Krope and Son--he had used them 2 years ago and had a good experience. I called them to give me a quote. The president came to my house to do the quote. He was prompt, courteous and extremely helpful in describing the options available to me. When they did the work, they perform it quickly and professionally. A great experience.
