+ -1 moreI called them in the morning & the service man came before noon. He checked the pipe to the basement and then opened the drain under the kitchen sink, snaked it through with a long electric snake machine. Made sure it worked afterwards.

+ -1 moreThey are flexible. I did some of the work myself and then they were able to come in and do the rest of the work. They didn't mind it and it saved me money. The price was reasonable. I bought all the materials and I paid them for the labor. They came out right away for the quote within a couple of hours. They did the work next day. I bought the stuff, which has a 9-year warranty. They just guarantee their installation. They were very fair. They were ready to do the work even when I bought the materials. They were nice guys. One of the guys in the crew was the owner's son, so there was no knocking around. They charged me per hour. They showed up on time. They were early. It was worth a while. They called me back right away.

+ -1 moreOutstanding ! Fabulous !! The best !!! Our main sump pump, back up sump, and other went out all at once. We have had the system for several years, but didn't expect everything to go out at once. We had rain water soaking our finished basement at 7:10 a.m. in the morning. Luckily, Jim Dhamer Plumbing & Sewer Inc opens at 7 a.m. I called and they accomodated me to come out immediately. They did as they said and Serviceman Dave promptly showed up with new sump pump, etc. With no delay, he removed the old and installed the new. Water began pumping out and away from the house. What a relief ! Dave also reviewed our sump pump set up and suggested how to improve with a backup plan. In summary, for the prompt, professional, polite service, removal of old and install of new, $445, which I believe is very fair due to the circumstances. I would definitely call Jim Dhamer Plumbing & Sewer again, which I have done in past times for othe services. They're a pleasure to do business with, fair in their pricing, and provide prompt, professional, & polite service.

+ 0 moreSteve had a laid-back demeanor that was friendly. His quote and installation (with Adam) was professional and efficient. Steve tried to make me happy by giving me different options for completing the job. Removal of old tanks and installation of new one went smoothly, and care was taken to keep the mess to a minimum (put down tarps and swept up when done). When the job was finished they had me inspect the work and explained the functions of the new tank. Overall, I was happy with the job and glad to use someone local. It's been a month since installation and we've never run out of hot water and everything is working fine. FYI...The only downside to the larger tank was that it is not an energy star product, so no tax credit. Apparently tanks that are over 75,000 btu, do not get rated. This tank may use 10% more energy than the 40 gallon tanks, but I’m only running one tank, plus it was $600 cheaper then getting two 40's, so I don’t see it making that much difference.
Description of Work: Replaced two 40 gallon power-vent hot water tanks (State brand 14 years old), with a single 75 gallon Bradford White power-vent tank.

Dhamer Plumbing actually quoted just about the best price (one company wanted almost double to fix both items!!), so I knew going in that their prices were competitive. Terry & Adam arrived at the time promised and got to work right away. They installed the faucet and fixed the toilet (flush value & flapper) in about 45 minutes. Very professional and cleaned-up after they were done. There were no leaks of any kind after their work was complete (unlike some other plumbing companies I have used where I had to call them back to the house to fix an inadequate repair). I would absolutely use them again in the future, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy plumber.

Description of Work: If you like looking at plumber's butt cracks this is the place to go! I felt like this was a scene from Saturday Night Live! Not only was the plumber unsure of a heating duct from a plumbing pipe I had to look at his rearend and overflowing belly fat. The plumber was not knowledgeable and provided several different scenerios for the flooding in my ceiling. After he cut a huge hole in my ceiling I had to inform him that it was a fireplace vent he was looking at. He then proceeded to read the info on the duct and confirm what I had said. When I asked him to check another leak in the ceiling he said he thought it was a cob web rather than investigating further. I seriously don't think he could have climbed the ladder; nor did he have one on his truck, I had to provide that too. In addition, I had to loan him a flashlight. After that, he wrote down the wrong numbers down off my credit card and I was called later to reverify. What a shoddy operation to receive so many accolades from Angie's list. I called the company and told them about the plumbers service: they replied they were working on this with him. NO I WOULD NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN!

+ -1 moreMy new faucets in the bathtub were leaking and I called to have the replacement cartridges I received from the manufacturer installed. It only took the guys a few minutes to complete the work and they both asked me a couple times if there was anything else they could do for me while they were there. It's a flat charge to come out and $145 was pretty steep for a few minutes work. I've used Dhamer Plumbing for several years and had them out in the spring to clean out a clogged line and to replace my ejector pump. I have been very satisfied with them and have found them to be responsive. However, they do not have emergency service.

+ -1 moreI have used them in the past. It turned out to be fine. They had particularly new as far as the size goes and they had the hot water heater that I needed. They had replaced it previously and so, I knew that I could go to them. They were average across the board. They were local and so, I tried to use them. I have never had any issues with them that needed to be resolved.

+ -1 moreI actually used them last week again for a project and they were fantastic. They gave me two separate visits, the first visit was $200 and the second visit two days later was about $500. They were very professional. We actually moved from a different location, we moved towns. They were so good that we actually called them for the next turnover. They were awesome. Relatively speaking to the amount of service they gave us, their pricing was fair. I wouldn't say that their pricing was great but it was fair. We've used them several times.

+ -1 moreThere was one problem after they left. I did call them and they were very responsive, got somebody out for us and resolved it. There was a little glitch but they resolved it quickly. There were no questions of finger pointing as they came out immediately. I have used them few times before and they have been always reliable, always available to come out. At reasonable times they had capacity of people to come out and get someone out to work quickly.

+ -1 moreThe faucet in our kitchen had started to leak and was very unattractive. My husband and I decided to purchase a new one and we called Jim Dhamer plumbing to install it. Making the appointment was a breeze and our service guy was very punctual. The job was more involved because apparently the faucet had been leaking for some time under the sink as well. Because of this, pipes had rusted together and there was no other option than to cut the faucet out with a sawsall. Before doing this, he asked if it would be okay because of the noise level. He didn't want to alarm me or my two cats. Very thoughtful. The job took about an hour and a half. Well done and well worth the price. We had used Jim Dhamer Plumbing before and will definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreThe two plumbers sent out were able to accomplish the work and wait for the village to turn on the water; then tested everything to ensure it worked properly. I especially appreciate that they are willing to put on booties to protect carpeting/flooring and that they do a good job of cleaning up after they are finished.
Description of Work: I needed an estimate and letter of intent for my village permit to be issued. It was necessary to have the village shut off our water at the street which required 4 visits in total. Apparently my town is unusual in its requests for such estimates and letters of intent, but Jim Dhamer plumbing came out and complied with all the requirements necessary to obtain a permit. They also performed the work and were flexible enough to work with our village's schedule. The plumbers installed 2 shut-off valves where the water enters the house. Previously we had one old, leaking shut-off valve.
