Steve answered my message I left on Angie's List same day and scheduled a visit within a couple days. After seeing what my electrical troubles were, he suggested that I get my service coming into the house checked by ComEd. Explained it could a problem as simple as a loose connection. Contacted ComEd and they found that there were loose connections with their equipment. Problem solved!!! Steve is a VERY honest contractor. Very easily could have done some unnecessary work that wouldn't have fixed problem.

Good. He found that a GFI receptacle was not functioning properly. Although the receptacle provided power via a plug, the downstream on/off switch that was connected to the GFI was not working. He determined that this was due to a faulty GFI receptacle. He replaced it.

The work was performed in a very professional manner. He is also extremely neat. there is never any mess. He always arrives ready to start with all the materiel necessary to complete the job. He was very prompt and professional. He made the appointment on a Saturday because my work schedule was unyielding. He made very good suggestions about where to locate the outlet for electrical safety reasons and to avoid overloading, and explained what he was doing. I felt very comfortable with him and I am pleased with the services. Everything is working correctly. He cleaned everything up after he was done.

Steve was great. Very friendly, courteous and communicative. Our previous fixture was old and when replacing bulbs to LED, the light shorted the chandelier out. I called Steve and he was able to come out the next day to replace it!!! We texted and spoke to set a time. Steve was careful with his equipment and shoes so no outside 'debris' was brought into our condo. The work was performed quickly and professionally. We would definitely use and recommend EMF (and Steve) again.

Worked with Steve, who was professional and very easy to deal with. Walked through job requirements prior to start and after completion. Also offered suggestions to improve and reduce cost on the outdoor outlet setup. This was the 3rd time I have used Steve service, will definitely continue to use him for future electrical needs.

Electrician arrived on time and worked diligently. He was very skilled and did a first-rate job. He had to remove several sections of drywall to place the outlet exactly where we wanted it.

We received communication after the initial inquiry within one day. Estimate was done several days later. The estimate was comparable to another estimate we received, but we really like Steve and felt very comfortable with him. He even asked if he should take off his shoes before coming in, which was very nice! He estimated the work would be done in about 7-8 days, but contacted us in less than a week and the job was done sooner than he originally expected, as he had unexpected opening in his schedule. The work was completed just as we had asked. We supplied the new outlets and wall-plates, he brought everything else! Since there were some ambiguity of the wiring in our house, Steve walked us though each step to ensure we understood how everything was wired, what the amps were and what ran to each circuit. He did find some odd wire labeling that he made us aware of, which we appreciated. The work was done in a timely manner, the work areas were cleaned up well, the dry-wall didn't required any repair and the new outlets work great. Steve made sure to let him know if we encountered any issues with the new outlets. He also made sure 2-3 times prior to cleaning up that we were satisfied and even re-adjusted the depth of 1 outlet to improve the look. I'll be calling EMF for any future work. Thank you.

When we hired Steve we told him we would not hold him to his estimate. We purchased this home three years ago. It was built in 1966 and had suffered the ministrations of many DIY ers over the years. We expected surprises and were not disappointed. Steve corrected all the earlier mistakes and we are delighted with the results. We would hire him again in an instant!

Steve was prompt and efficient. He explained the options to me before beginning the project. He consulted with me during the project to make sure we were in agreement. He went over the finished job with me and cleaned up his entire work space. He quoted me his per hour before the job started.

This is the second time we have used EMF Electric. This job involved the installation of three out door light fixtures with one needing to be relocated. Steve arrived and explained several options for the relocate of the third fixture. After replacing to existing lights he then completed the third task which was complicated involving quite a bit of work in our attic on a warm day.He worked efficiently and the quality of his work was outstanding. Steve is a very pleasant man to work with who is a true professional.

I found EMF Electric thru excellent reviews from Angie's List. Plan was initially to install cans in a dimly lit room. Steve came out to the house and reviewed the job in detail. He was quick to turnaround a quote and was very responsive to emails. I also went to three other companies and found their quotes to be comparable. After hiring EMF I also added two other jobs which Steve was accommodating to do within my timeframe. Steve was very clean, diligent, and timely. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of work. I would recommend and hire EMF again.

We had attempted to replace the light already, but due to the differences in how the old light and the new ones were to be mounted, we ran into too many issues and decided to have someone with more experience come and do it. We called EMF and after talking to Steve he was able to come the next day and take care of it. We arrived on-time, offered to remove his boots and completed the work in a timely manner. Would recommend him for electrical work that you need done. He was happy to explain things as he went along too.

Steve is an excellent electrician. He is always on time and very professional. We've hired him for past electrical projects and have always been extremely pleased with his work. We highly recommend him.

Had a chandelier that was dimming in and out. Steve noticed the cord was twisted and suggested having it replaced. I had the cord replaced and he came back to re-install the chandelier. On his first visit he gave me quotes to have power run to two bedrooms and install ceiling fans. When he came back to install the chandelier after repair I asked that he also move forward with the ceiling fan work because his quote was reasonable. So far so good. Steve is professional and I have already talked to him about doing other work. He is mindful of costs and doesn't want the homeowner to spend money unnecessarily.

As with any remodeling project, there were issues with the original construction of our home. We couldn't place the lights exactly where we wanted them. Steve offered great suggestions and the finished product is perfect.

We had used Steve before, and so went right straight to him again - no bidding etc. You will not find a smarter, more experienced, harder working, fairer (in charging) and more helpful contractor anywhere. He really went out of his way to update some wiring, fixtures,and switches that were badly out of date, and was very helpful with observations and suggestions. Our house is going on the market soon, and we can rest easy that no inspection will find even the smallest problem with the electrical system. If there were any higher rating categories than what is on Angie's List, Steve at EMF Electric would deserve them all.

It went well. Steve arrived promptly as scheduled; I showed him the two projects - to replace the fixture in the bathroom and to replace an outlet in the family room that was damaged. Steve went to work, handled each project in a prompt, professional manner and finished quickly, I believe within an hour. Each work area was left clean.

Steve arrived promptly and immediately began work on the exterior coach lights. Once concluded, he assessed the needs for the kitchen, purchased the replacement outlet, effortlessly installed the new outlet & then cleaned up everything. I have an electrical meter box pulled away from the house needs to be fixed. I sent 8 emails to different providers through Angie's List to get an estimate. Steve is the only one replied quickly and with the most detailed explanation based on the pictures I provided and gave me a Ball park estimate. In order to give me a more accurate estimate, he requested for a visit to look both inside and outside of electric panel to determine the cost and how he will proceed. After the checking, he found out my case is a little unusual, both electric panel and electrical meter box are fine, the cause of the detachment is uncertain, but he still gave us some suggestions. Overall, his responsiveness, professionalism and honesty really impressed us.

He arrived on time and immediately jumped into the project. He fixed some incorrectly installed sockets, resolved an issue with unclear circuitry in the kitchen and brought the kitchen up to code. Very professional and quick.

Steve was great. He called me right back when I left a message and was able to come out on short notice AND was willing to come on a Saturday morning. He took the time to explain to me why the outlet had burned out and showed me what was wrong with the wiring inside. Steve was very professional, a very personable guy who clearly knew his stuff. Steve arrived and introduced himself and was courteous enough to take his shoes off. All through his service he was kind and made some pleasant conversation. Very conscientious of my elderly grandfather's needs.

I called EMF Electric based on the reviews here on Angie's List. Was promptly called back by a technician within 10 minutes after leaving a message with the person who answered the phone at the main #. I explained the issue we were having with a bank of hallway lights and outlets not working even though one of the rooms hooked up to the same breaker were functioning. The Tech (Steve) walked me through some simple "fixes" and "tests" to do to try to avoid service call (and save money, even though this was the first time I ever called or spoke with the person). Needless to say I was not able to find the cause of the outage and set up a service call for the following day. The tech texted prior to arrival as he had a previously scheduled job first on the day. Was quoted the price up front the previous day on an hourly basis. He was up front about it could be a 10 minute fix or a few hours to determine the source of the outage. When the tech arrived he was courtesous and professional. He brought "clean"shoes though they were not needed to be worn. I explained the issue once again and the source of the problem was a simple fix (loose wire in a wire nut connection) that was discovered and corrected within 1 hour. He did not "milk" the time or try to create more work to bill more.
