We had our air conditioner go out a couple of years ago and they had great people, great response, great price. Now they come twice a year to check out our unit. I believe that they are a family owned business. We have the same guy every time. I would definitely recommend them. They call and tell you they are starting to schedule. It is great, I don't even have to call them. They have a reminder thing set up. They are good.
Description of Work: I last used E Z Heating & Cooling for maintenance work a couple of weeks ago. They usually come out in April / May and in August / September before you have to turn on your heat or air.

When the service person Rich did not show up for our appointment on May 28th, 2013, I called his cell phone at 8:55 a.m. (We had a 8:30 appointment.) He seemed surprised and told me that I should not be calling his number. Quickly adding that I needed to call the office to discuss. Also that he had been given other jobs to do. I told him that my hunch was that he would not show for the agreed upon appointment. Then Rich hung up and had the owner phone me. The owner also chastized me for calling the service person. I told the owner that the way that this sx person acted, gave me the impression that he did not want to do the work. ex: "Oh that is a three hour job. It will have to wait." I am not an HVAC person, however speaking to many others I knew it was NOT a 3 hour job. In that followup conversation the owner asked if I had flood waters in my home. I answered that he had been to my home after the flood and knew that I did. Then the owner said in an accusatory tone..."You had sewer water." My response was there was sewer water on the main level and everyone at that office was provided that database. "That job will cost $2000.00" was the next sentence! I was shocked and upset that a human being could be that dishonest! I then said goodbye abruptly ending that aweful conversation. It was very clear this company did not want this job even though I had done seasonal business with them. The owner was was not being honest and straight with me. They were busy installing new air conditioners and this would get in their way. I did get someone to do the work for $180.00. I am totally convinced that the sewer water issue was a front for the real issue. Business was good for certain industries after that terrible flooding. They were running as fast as they could to reap the benefits.
Description of Work: There was 7 inches of rain on April 18th, 2013. Dupage was considered a "disaster area" by President Obama. I had water from the sewer as well as rain that broke the basement window. FEMA responded and sent an inspector to my home. He discovered that a large heat duct in the basement had disconnected! He included this in his report. I called EZ HEATING & COOLING about this. It took 3 appts dates before they arrived to view the problem. This service person left and called back to say he had too many air conditioners to install and would be back after the holiday. Scheduled the service for the following Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. I copied down this sx person's cell phone number because I began to suspect that he was stalling for some reason.(caller ID resource) Our last conversation involved my saying that if I could get someone over the next few days, I would let him know. Rich said, "If I do not hear from you, I will see you at 8:30 Tuesday." I really did not have time to spend on the phone, so I decided to wait for this service. I had flood prevention to research.
