 + -1 moreAmerican Benchmark has been to my house on a couple occasions to fix my Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. Recently, the top drawer of the dishwasher didn't seem to be cleaning the dishes well. Mr. Taylor found that a couple pieces from my son's sippy cups were preventing the arm that sprays water from rotating. He didn't charge me for the visit!

The parts have been ordered, and I'm expecting a call sometime later this week saying that the parts are in and to schedule a time for them to come back in and fix it.

 + -1 moreWhen I called to ask about repair the person who answered the phone was most efficient, professional and helpful. I was offered a service call for the next day, though I wasn't available until the following day. The serviceman came within the two hour window promised, quickly found the problem, repaired it and gave me good advice about an additional question I had about my washing machine. I think the rate charged and advice was very fair. I'd definitely use this company again and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: I called for help because my dryer began rattling loudly. The serviceman found the trouble--lint lodged in the blower because of my attempts to clean the channel where the filter goes with a brush designed for that purpose.

 + -1 moreArt was very professional, and after I wrote him the check for the job, I mentioned about having used Angie's' list and asked if he gave any discounts. He promptly whipped out a $20 bill as my discount. I thought that was pretty cool since I had already given him his check. My wife helped him cleanup afterwards which he appreciated.
Description of Work: We noticed that our freezer was not working as things were not frozen anymore (we noticed a nasty leak from defrosted strawberries). they were prompt in responding to us (within 3 hours on Saturday). As it turned out, the fan behind the fridge had stopped working (a faulty bearing in the fan motor) interrupting the heat transfer. Art Taylor was able to determine the root cause in about 10 minutes, after he first cleaned up around the condenser coil. He had the part available in his truck and replaced it in less than 20 min. Total job (incl. visit charges $60) cost $194.

 + -1 moreWe originally hired them just for the dishwasher, but they were able to fix the heater for us as well that we were having difficulty with. Everyone told us we would have to replace the whole thing as opposed to just the coils. Replacing coils is much easier and they came out 3 times to get it just right.

Description of Work: Kenmore dryer failed to heat at all. Art came out on Sat. and replaced Control Thermostat, Thermo fuse and tested unit completely. I mentioned that it had not broken suddenly but we were having problems off and on with the heat; then it finally broke completely. He decided to replace the Coil Set for the burner at no charge because he said that was the usual cause of the off and on problem and he wanted to make sure everything was fixed for us.

 + -1 moreIt was great! There was a coil burnt out so he ordered one and installed the next day. When he started the washer he found out that it needed a whole new motor. He ordered the motor and installed it the next day at no additional charge. The washer works great now due to his wonderful work.

Description of Work: Our refridgerator was cold, but not freezing. The ice cubes were good but the ice cream was too soft, the diagnosed it with a failing fan and installed a new kit. It took about an hour and 20 minutes.

 + -1 moreBecause my refrigerator was working, but warming up, American Benchmark was able to schedule an appointment two days from when I called; when I called the next day because the refrigerator was warming up more, into the danger zone, they kindly moved the appointment up several hours for me. Repairman found that the fan wasn't working, took everything out of freezer to replace it, and replaced all the freezer food when he was done. He worked quickly and efficiently and was very friendly.

He had to go and get the part to correct the probably and he returned promptly and took care of the problem. He also cleaned up after he was finished. I am very satisfied with the service I received and will call them again.
Description of Work: My washing machine was making a loud screeching sound. When Ray came out, the machine didn't make any noise. But, he determined that the pump was bad. He replaced the pump and the noise hasn't returned.
