I ordered kitchen cabinets. One of the cabinets arrived extremely damaged. They refuse to take it back and refund. I have attached a picture. Their solution is to offer a touchup kit when I bought brand new cabinets. Avoid

YIKES- I contacted them and spoke with the said owner. He went on how it is a family business. Told me about a great sale so I went in to the store to look. Only one might have been workable. The son at the store showed me the sale items. Gave a quote not more than 2,000.00 for everything. ( floor and install ) The next day Jay came out- the price doubled. I did not like the floor in the home at all. He argued with me about other flooring I found and the price to install. No paper quote. When I said no thanks he dropped the price 400.00. They are very unprofessional.

They were very bad. We had them do some flooring, they don't stand behind their work. They might have good prices but if something goes wrong it's like forget it. You will never get them to come back. I would never use them again. The floor is kind of separating. You can't wash there because the water would go down to the underlayment. We called them up and okay we'll be out. But nobody came out. My wife called and kept calling and finally he came out. I said as long as you are here give us a quote to do the carpet up here. He came out and measured it. He said the guy would come out. My Uncle will come out and take a look at it on Wednesday. Nobody came out, nobody called. Finally after about three weeks of calling, some guy calls and says what do you want me to do about it? They never came back again and I won't pursue it either anymore. I figured if they come back they are just going to hack something up because they are mad. I wouldn't use them. They did come out the first time, it did look good for a while.

.Horrible! could not be worse. had to reinstall cabinets as they had them all screwed up. They showed up without a kitchen blue print plan and just put them in any order, which of course was wrong. They chipped the cabinets and nicked the walls. They installed the appliances wrong, damaging the dishwasher and it had to be reinstalled. They were clowns but creepy ones. The credit card company alerted us they were helping themselves to more money than they had coming by using our credit card. We had to close our card to avoid them. In the end they measured wrong and the big appliances did not fit the spaces. They decided to shave off parts of the cabinets to make the appliances fit. Run!

My wife and I had a few companies bid on our house, approx 1500 sq. ft. Value Floors was the most aggressively priced, and we signed a contract with them. They offered us $500 off of their original estimate, and we accepted. We to begin installation on a date that was about 4 weeks in the future. The materials would be delivered about a few days prior to the install date. The laminate flooring was delivered to our garage (should have been inside, to allow the material to equalize to room temp), and I had to move it all inside. We did the carpet removal ourselves, so we had bare floors throughout our house, thinking that we would only have to deal with it for a few days. On the date of installation, we were contacted and informed that they could not make the planned install date, and would be a couple days behind. No problem, I went into work and adjusted my vacation schedule accordingly. We were informed there would be 3 guys working on our house. There was one. Ron (primarily a stairs guy) had to wrap up some details on another job site, so there was just one guy working on our laminate flooring. (Had there been two, the process would obviously have gone faster) On day two, Ron and 1 guy show up and start working around 11:00 am (still no third guy). They work for about 4 hours, then call it a day, and head home. They attempted to remove the existing transition into the kitchen (tile), and cracked a tile. There was no offer to replace the tile, it was apparently something that I should accept, and hope that I have spare tiles in the house. Fortunately, I did have one full tile piece to replace the one that they had split in two. On the other side of the kitchen, The cracked another tile. This one was a partial tile, and we used the remnants of the other tile they cracked. I had to leave, so they were on their own to replace these tiles. When I returned, the grout line on the new tiles was not even close to the same level as the other tiles, and Ron said that he would come back tomorrow and match the grout and fix it. The progress was slow, but it seemed okay. The next day (day 3), I wasn't able to be home in the morning to be in the house with them, so they had a garage door opener that they could use to get in the house. They finished the job on the third day, or so we thought...At this point, we started noticing some flaws in the installation. We had quarter round installed along with our floors, and realized that very few of the corners were done properly. Several had one side of the miter cut overhanging the other, with a rough edge sticking out. There were several gaps between the quarter round and the baseboard, which we had to flag for Ron to get them fixed. The laminate wasn't installed far enough under the baseboard/quarter round, so there were gaps between the laminate and the quarter round. Some of the laminate pieces had corners that were upturned, from shipping and handling. Some of these pieces were installed in the middle of the room, with the corners still sticking up. We made them fix it and replace those pieces. We also noticed one of the transition pieces was installed improperly. There was some terrible carpentry done on the quarter round cuts, and some pieces that weren't even installed. There was even an inside corner that wasn't even mitered. It was left with two straight cut pieces of quarter round. When I called Jay to straighten this mess out, I was informed that I had to talk to "Ronny" and let him know. (I don't like this business model. If I call Jay, he can talk to his employees and tell them to make it right!) When I contacted Ron, he was insulted that I found so many things wrong. As if I shouldn't make him do the job that we hired him to do. He actually asked me if I was on my hands and knees inspecting the work. I informed him that after we found some of the more obvious problems, yes, I was inspecting their work closely, and I was very grateful that I did!The finish work was done very sloppily, and I told him that I wouldn't be satisfied until it was fixed and done right. We were getting carpet installed as well, and was told by Ron that they would install the transition pieces between the carpet and the laminate. At this point, the laminate was (mostly) done, there were specific issues left with that. We had the Carpet guys coming Friday, or so we though. When I called Jay to complain about the shoddy work, he apparently suspected that I was going to stiff him for the job, and told me his carpet guys weren't available until we worked things out with Ron. In my mind, that was Jay's problem, not mine, but he informed me that he couldn't get the carpet guys in until the following week. In an hour they had become busy...When the carpet guys arrived (5 days later), they set up shop, told me what to expect, how the process would go, and how long it would take. VERY professional. I asked them to look at some of the things that I was complaining about, and said that 'Ron just wasn't the same as he used to be.' They also mentioned that they wouldn't leave the house like that, either. They did their thing, and I asked them why they weren't putting in the transitions, and they said that they didn't have the material. They picked up the carpet, and were told that was all they needed. While they were installing, I asked them if they were available on the date that Jay said they weren't, and, sure enough, they didn't have anything going on that day. It would appear that Jay lied BLATANTLY to me, a customer. Later on, I found out that he thought I would stiff him on final payment on the job, so he withheld the carpeting from us to make sure that we would pay. After the carpet guys left, we waited......and waited.....and called......and waited..... Apparently, fixing our floors was not very high on their priority list. Jay continually forwarded me over to Ron, who was unavailable when we were (weeknights and weekends). I informed him that I was done taking vacation for them to fix up something that was done poorly the first time. They could come when I was available now. Eventually, Ron returned my call, and we had a very brief discussion in which he grilled me for wanting the job to be perfect, and he thought I was being 'picky'. He also didn't understand why the transitions weren't installed by the carpet guys. About a week later, he returned with another guy, and completed about half the work required to finish the job. They told me they'd be back in a couple days. So we waited to hear from Ron about when they'd come over and finish. FOR FOUR WEEKS. The job started in April, and it was now June. Apparently, somebody told Ron that he'd have to finish the work or be out of the final payment. He finally called and asked when he could come in and wrap up... I told him the timing hadn't changed, I was avalable on nights and weekends, at which point he interjected that he "doesn't work n*gg*r hours." I ended the call immediately and called Jay, wanting to talk to the owner. Rich was unavailable at the time. I was furious. Eventually, Ron figured out that had he done it right the first time, he'd be done by now, so he called back, didn't apologize for his disgusting language, and wanted to finish the job. At this time, I was exhausted from fighting with them, and just wanted them out of our lives...we set a date and he actually made it! It took far too much time and effort to get them to do their job. Ultimately, it would take Value Floors/Ron/Jay a little more than 2 months to complete a job that should've taken a week.

The salesman, Jay, came over to our house and brought samples of the granite. There were about 20 different colors of granite for us to choose from. The pricing seemed reasonable and the we liked one of the samples, so we signed a contract. I changed my mind twice about the type of edge that I wanted on the countertop, and I stopped by the shop twice just to make sure I was happy with my choice of color. About 7 days later the granite company owner came out to measure my old countertops. They were ready to be installed a few days later. The granite installers arrived early on a Saturday morning and removed the old countertops and put them in my garage. The installation of the new countertops went smoothly. However, after they left I noticed a few problems. There was a gap between the backsplash and wall that should have been caulked, and the granite was not sealed even though the installers assured me that they were. We waited for hours for a plumber to show up to install the faucet, but no one ever came. We called the company and was told that no one could come that day, but someone would come the next day. Someone from the company then came out to remove our old countertops from the garage. The plumber did show up the next morning, and someone else came out the next day to caulk along the backsplash. Everything turned out nicely, and the new countertops look great, but I give this company an average rating because we shouldn't have had to call the company and wait a day for our plumbing to be hooked up and to get the backsplash caulked.
Description of Work: We had our old laminate countertops removed and new granite countertops installed along with a new sink and a new faucet.

Once the contract was signed, Pandora's box was opened. Jay delayed the start date by a week with no apologies. We were told only family would do the job which was untrue. Wood was cut in the house which was not allowed. The upstairs was a nightmare. A job Jay said would take a day took 3 months. They were installing unfinished stair-nosing which did not match the pre-finished wood. They finally ordered pre-finished stair nosing and attempted to charge us an extra $400. When we told them that the subcontractor was doing a horrible job, we argued for 4 days before Ron, a co-owner, came to finish the job. Ron was nicer but we got the feeling that he also did not have a strong commitment to quality. We found another cracked board which he refused to replace. When it came to final payment, Ron gave us $100 off for the problems we had then I took another $50 off for the cracked board. Believe me, the $100 did not come close to all the stress and lost time dealing with this company.
Description of Work: They installed wood floors in 3 rooms and on the upstairs and carpet on the basement stairs after removing and disposing old carpet. It appeared that the work done was by an amateur. Damaged boards were installed (most were later replaced except for one). Boards were staggered too closely. Wood putty was overly used to fill in gaps and hide jagged edges. The transition from the wood floors to the tiled bathroom floor was uneven. A threshold was eventually installed which did not lie flat. The installers were never on time. They would show up anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours late or not at all. They also did not bother to call if they were behind schedule.

The following is a summary of Value Floors and Cabinets lack of customer service and professionalism. 1. The Subcontractor measured our center island wrong and we had to complain to Value Floors to have it repaired. 2. They did not clean up all of the old material. 3. Most importantly the wall backsplash did not sit properly up against the back wall leaving a gap, which they covered up with excessive caulk. 4. They changed the agreed upon price after we had to cancel the floor installation due to the granite nightmare from $4395 to $5250. 5. After the contract was signed we did not have any representation from Value Floors only the subcontractors. We believe the whole matter could have been resolved if they would have given us our options upfront, or at very least came out and inspected the work of the subcontractors for themselves, which to this day both Jay and Rich refuse to do. We might as well hired the subcontracters directly instead.
Description of Work: Value Floors and Cabinets had their subcontractors install granite countertops in our kitchen to include removal of old laminate countertops on counters and center island. They also removed and installed a new stainless steel sink.
