The crew arrived on time, but owner/supervisor came later than agreed time, I had to talk to owner on the phone so he could verify (to the crew) what I wanted done since I don't speak Spanish. The crew was extremely polite and helpful...very hardworking and didn't waste any time. A lot of attention was paid to making sure the area being sanded was contained so dust wouldn't get into the rest of the house. The initial deal that I purchased was for a set sq. ft. amount with clear coating on the floor. I paid extra since my space was slightly larger and I wanted a color stain not just clear coat. The owner was willing to work with me on the price for the extra work so I was able to stay within my set budget. The area I had done was my Kitchen/eat-in area and my powder room. The newly sanded and stained floors look absolutely great and I have gotten many compliments. The overall experience was very good. One drawback ... I noticed in the powder room that stain had gotten on my white base trim in several places. Behind the toilet the stain is visibly darker because it wasn't wiped off like the rest of the floor. I don't know if that is because the space behind the toilet is so narrow....I am choosing to live with it since it IS BEHIND the toilet. In all fairness, I had to leave unexpectedly for a short time and agreed to be back right when they were finished ( I was quoted a finish time) but they had finished early and had left. They cleaned up all their stuff and made sure to lock up the house. I would recommend this company... just make sure you can be there at the end to check that everything is to your satisfaction.

It went great. They came on time, were very nice. My wood floors were a mess. The owner before me put tile on the floors. I removed the tile and was sick over how terrible they looked. There was tile glue stuck to the wood and I couldn't get it up. They came in and sanded and varnished my floors and now they look incredible. I am so happy I went with Vasile. Very professional company.

Vasile met me to look at the job 1 hour after calling him. His price was great but the best part was his availability AND he did what he said When he said he was going to......No Changes. The finish is AWESOME I wish I could attach a before and after photo.

Vasile was very nice, punctual and professional. His main objective was to help me so I did not have to unnecessarily spend money. Based on my experience with him and the great reviews he has received for quality of work, I would absolutely use him in the future!

Work crew was very punctual on the assigned day (8am). Floors were stripped quickly, sanded, and finished before 6pm. Fortunately no problems. This was my first experience with refinishing hard floors and the smell of the laquer was overpowering. Fortunately I made plans to stay away for the night. Next day the floors looked great! I have two additional rooms that I need to have redone (Dining and Living Rooms) and I will be using Vasilie to complete it.

I contacted Vasile to find out what is the economical way to fix our 512 square ft. floors. I contacted Vasile and he responded fast and stopped by the next day to give me an estimate. I asked around and he was the one who gave me the best price. Vasile and his crew were very professional and came on time. They finished the job in one day and his crew Carlos and Mataor did a very good job. I asked them to patch some of the dark spots on my floors with the wood filler and Carlos was very patient with me. My floor now looks brand new. Vasile also gave me some advice that you only replace your floors when you can't sand and refinish it anymore which saves you money too. He also gave me a great price! I will definitely use them again!

It was a much better than expected experience. The job was done to the letter. Most comments were made above. Everything promised was delivered. No problems no hassles. All communication was point on to the letter with perfomance to match.

I was in a hurry, but they showed up in large numbers and on time and finished very quickly. The floors look great. They cleaned up after themselves. Mr. Vasile was friendly and always reachable. The price was fair.

We are fixing up my grandfathers house and want to sell it as soon as possible. We called Vasille on a Saturday and he was able to come that day to give us an estimate. The job was done by Tuesday and the results are great! I shopped around and his price was the best, I would recommend him for all your flooring needs.

It was a true pleasure doing business with Vasile's Flooring Co. I was looking to install wood floors throughout my house. My main idea was to achieve a sleek, clean look and I was determined to find the right contractor for job. After multiple estimates not one company seemed to gain my trust nor convinced me they possessed enough expertise to provide services I was looking for. I decided to search Angie's List one last time and found Vasile's Flooring Company. Vasile's professionalism and knowledge of a various finishes and stains was above par. In my case the owner Vasile was prompt and very responsive to all inquiries. An estimate was provided within 24hrs of my initial contact. Vasile was knowledgeable on the different wood species, installation techniques, stain pigments and finishes. Towards the end of the presentation I was provided with a detailed breakdown of material and labor cost, along with an explanation of quality, durability and physical attributes specific to each product. The overall process was very efficient and without any delays. Their removal and then replacement of furniture was handled by the crew entirely. I believe that a dustless sanding technique was used resulting in minimal residue and clean up. The project was completed within the promised time frame with stunning results. I followed the Vasile's recommendations and ended up with smooth, elegant, sleek surface. There is no gapping and installation seems very precise. The wood looks vibrant but of a subtle color gleaming with the beauty of the grain. I expected the floor to look good, but did not expect it to look this good! Thanks

Upon first meeting Vasile was prompt, helpful, and determined to give me the best price. He knew that I was seeking out quotes from other hardwood flooring companies in the Chicago area, so I'm sure that contributed to his tenacity. Vasile was great at following up after our first meeting. He called me a couple of times to see what I was thinking. I appreciated this and felt like if this was any indication of the customer service I would get through hiring him, I would be in good hands. We set a price, and work soon commenced. Due to the nature of construction in the home, I was not there checking on his floormen during the day- and I did not return at night. They had a set of keys and I trusted that the work they were doing was 100% professional. They finished these rooms quickly- I believe in three days. My aunt, who restores antiques, came with me to offer a second pair of eyes to take in the finished product. This was my first time having floors installed, after all. She pointed out that there were pockets of dirt/dust underneath the coat of polyurethane in the nursery. She explained that this happens when proper cleaning of the sanded wood is skipped. Despite the fact that particles are small, I paid a couple thousand dollars of my hard earned money for this job, and I wanted it done in an excellent manner. I had arranged for Vasile to come to my home to address these problems. (Another issue was that there was a whole plank on the floor with no polyurethane). It seemed like no one had even given him a complaint before. He stood, in awe, incredulous to my issues. He later told me that in all his years of work he had never experienced another person pointing out/making issue of his work. He assured me that I was an adult woman and could have raised issue with him by myself. Actually I don't have the eyes that my Aunt has, and boy am I glad that she came with me that day. Frankly, he didn't like that two women were showing him what needed to be fixed. Reluctantly he agreed to put another coat of polyurethane on the floors, but that was all he could offer. When I returned to see the new and improved finished product I noticed that polyurethane had spilled into the hardwood flooring in my hallway and into my sunroom. (!!!) Clearly, Vasile was much more concerned about getting his money than he was about making sure that he gave me beautiful floors. After a second sluggish turnaround time, why rush when issues might be raised, right?! His men came back and buffed out most-not all- of the polyurethane. At this point I was so ready to be done, I was willing to accept improvement, not perfection. The last straw was really when I learned that his workers had lost my keys. Was it not enough that they forgot my keys in my home during one of their lunch breaks, too?! I was furious. Surely they had been misplaced. Unfortunately they had really been lost. Vasile even attemped to return a set of keys to me that were not mine. New to my home and weary of security, I opted to have my locks changed by a professional. This cost more than the $130 that I deducted from the final check to Vasile, but he was upset that I wouldn't have just let his men change my lock for me. Really?!! I was clearly naive to certain parts of this process, but I was not going to be stupid. Changing a lock is not an easy thing, and I wanted to have it done right. The LAST thing Vasile said he would do was remove the foam from underneath the carpet that had been sitting out by my trash for weeks. I had texted him repeatedly and he said he would get it, not tonight, but soon. I called him and he would not answer. Finally I resorted to calling him from a number he did not recognize. Sure enough a chipper voice answered, ready to get another customer. When I asked him why he had not removed the foam (that should have been removed weeks ago, mind you) he scolded me for being a 'nickel and dimer' (it's called business) and told me that since I made the mistake of not using his men for the lock change he was not going to pick the materials up UNLESS I were to pay him $80 for the dumping fee. He never told me there was a dumping fee. I assume these things should be factored into cost on their end. I have never been so livid with a contractor in my life. EspecialIy after he hung up on me. Clearly, I no longer had anything to give Vasile so his customer service had ended. My floors look fine, but the headache and frustration I went through far outweighs the finished product.

As I had used Vasile when I was an apartment owner, I already was very comfortable using him. Switching me from Polyurethane to Synteko (a water-based floor covering that lasted much longer than Polyurethane on renter tested floors) was well appreciated. Anyway, his crew added a Synteko coat to the recently done Polyurethaned floors before I moved in. This went smoothly. In the basement, I told him what I wanted, a wood floor in the front 2/3, and he recommended a floating engineered wood floor, with baseboard. As I am a practical environmentalist, I inquired about bamboo. He told me how it is softer than the white oak he was suggesting, and he recommended the oak, especially as I wanted it for dancing. Through my own research, I found out Moso bamboo, the most common lowlands bamboo ,is a softer wood, while woven strand, or upper highands bamboo, is harder. The latter are more expensive than the basic Moso bamboo and the white oak. The Swedish flooring company only harvested sustainably and had very green credentials, so I went with them. The engineered wood flooring can also be sanded three times, a benefit over a floating laminate floor This job took around a week, and the tile work around the laundry area was another day.
