Estimator, Jeff Johnson, came out to look at house and 23yr. old furnace/AC on July 3rd. He asked pertinent questions as to what temps we kept the house at during heating and cooling periods and what we desired in terms of efficiency for gas and electricity usage and possible savings on utilities. Jeff gave us a quote for a new system that fit our house and our answers to his questions. We decided to order the new system that evening but, due to the 4th of July holiday couldn’t do so until the next week Called Bishop on the 8th with the order and they had an install crew at our house at about 8:30 AM on the 10th. Crew consisted of 3 people – Dan, Ty and Mark. They were neat and clean. Used drop cloths for work (house has no basement, so furnace is located in the living area) Install was completed at about 3:30 in the afternoon. All debris -- old furnace¸ etc. was cleanly hauled away. Because it’s July, haven’t had the opportunity to test the new furnace, but the new AC unit works very well.

They were fabulous and will be our permanent heating and HVAC experts forever!!

Annual maintenance was done on the boiler, and an estimate was received on both a new air conditioning system and a new boiler for future consideration. These services, performed by Jeff Johnson & Bob, were done with a great amount of professionalism and friendliness.

No surprises. It is not Bishop's fault that we view HVAC companies / people with skepticism. There are good HVAC people and companies out there, but we've had a few disappointing experiences with OTHER firms. That's because most people have no idea how their furnace works and can't tell a good from bad job or when they are being charged for unecessary work. In any case, we continue to use Bishop until there is a good reason not too. My only complaint is tha the Aprilaire 700 humidifier we had installed a few years ago never seems to provide enough humidity and we've had problems with its operation. During this last visit, Bishop said its operating correctly.

They installed the new furnace and return air duct system in an efficient manner and secured another party for us to help us abandon our old air duct system properly. They coordinated with the other company well to make sure everything went as planned. Their installation was done by highly skilled professionals in a careful professional manner. They communicated to us any changes in finishing the job. Extreme heat made finishing the attic part of the job very difficult and they worked effectively around that and kept us informed at all times. They cleaned up their messes satisfactorily.

The service technicians (Dan, Dave, and Bob) were on time, thorough, and meticulous. The installation took longer than I had anticipated, however, they stayed late to complete the job in one day. Even after being at my house for 11+ hours, they took the time to show me how everything works and answered any questions. I would definitely use Bishop Heating again, and highly recommend their services!

Now we're back in business. Things went very well. He was a nice young man, very knowledgeable and personable, and the price was exactly what I thought it would be.

I am satisfied with their work. They are very punctual. They come in and immediately start working. I don’t really have a lot of discussion with them because they are in the basement taking care of things. They are always very nice, friendly, and professional.

The workers were very friendly, helpful and took the time to explain the problem to me. The work was completed on time for for less than I expected.

Bishop installed a second A/C and furnace for us two years ago, and we have switched to them to do our maintenance work, with an annual contract. They are quite expensive compared to some of their competitors, we believe, but we like the work they do. In the fall checkup just completed, the workman spent a good 90 minutes doing a thorough checking of everything.

Recently, a Bishop Heating technician performed a routine cleaning and maintenance check on our furnace. During that appointment, the technician called the scheduling staff to make another appointment. This second appointment was for replacement of our in-line humidifier. My husband and I were standing right next to the technician as the technician spoke to the scheduler. We mutually worked out an appointment time. I am available only in the mornings because I work in the afternoons and evenings. (The only exception is Fridays.) The morning appointment time came and went. No Bishop Heating staff arrived. Finally, I called the office to ask about the appointment. The woman who answered the phone (Chris or Christie?) told me the appointment was scheduled for "after lunch." When I explained the situation, she responded in a monotone voice, never expressed concern, and never apologized. "Well, I don't know who that technician talked to," was the best she could do. "Just another routine mix-up, ho-hum," I suppose she was thinking. There was no attempt at providing customer service during my conversation with this employee. I made another appointment just to get the humidifier put in by SOMEONE before it really gets cold. But I don't have time to play games like this with contractors.

Kevin phoned to let us know he would be about half an hour late. This was understandable because we had an afternoon appointment at a busy time for this kind of work. But we felt we needed to equate this to a "B" grade. Kevin assessed the Aprilaire dehumidifier. As we had suspected, he told us the humidifier needed to be replaced. He checked his price book and gave us a quote, then we scheduled a date for the work. Next, Kevin set about cleaning our furnace and checking it. Throughout the visit, Kevin was friendly and personable and demonstrated a high level of professionalism. He had been to our home once before to perform maintenance on our air conditioner, and he remembered me from that visit. Kevin wore clean cloth "booties" over his shoes to avoid getting our floors and carpet dirty. We were charged a $6 travel fee in addition to the $120 service charge. The entire experience was a pleasure.

Kevin arrived about half an hour earlier than expected. This worked out fine, however. He put on shoe covers and followed me upstairs, where our A/C unit is located. He worked up there for some time. Afterward, he went out back to the unit outside. I explained it has been very loud. He made some adjustments and, because we don't have a water spigot connection in the back, he used compressed carbon dioxide to blast out accumulated debris, such as cottonwood seeds, etc. Kevin thoroughly explained that some of the noisiness of the outdoor unit was due to a couple of loose items. He said he tightened those up. He went on to explain that this particular unit makes a fair amount of noise anyway. There was really nothing wrong with the device. So we don't expect a dramatic change. Throughout his visit, Kevin was exceptionally courteous, friendly, and professional in manner. I didn't ask for a quote in advance because it's a flat rate. I don't know how price compares with others. But after our last experience with a different contractor, we were mainly interested in good service. I'd say we got what we paid for there. I highly recommend this company based on this service call.

Everything is fine now and I am happy with it. Whoever the tech was, he was very honest. Ever since they did this, I now get regular maintenance checks from them. They were very professional and they did not give me any problems at all. They were also very nice and easy to work with. I thought the price was fair.

I have an older home, so the price that they charged me for the work that they did was necessary. I have used Bishop in the past and I have never felt they do any type of work that is unnecessary.

Wonderfully! Mr. Johnson really went out of his way for us. Our old one was very noisy. He checked to find the quietest one that would work for us. The work was done when expected, for the exact amount quoted. The man who installed it was very nice. I couldn't be happier.

Our old AC died right in the middle of the hot summer. They came out and went over various options making some recommendations to enhance the life of the system. We scheduled the work in about a week and they took one day to get it installed. They did nice work and were competitively priced.
