Woody's Tree Service

I checked the prices both for tree removal and for trimming with Woody's and 2 other business. Woody's was cheaper for both. The difference for removal was pretty large, for trimming not so much. I had them do only the trimming, and they did it better than I expected. They left the property completely clean. The only problem was to get them on the phone and schedule. They sometimes take long to return calls but they alway sdo eventually. Communicating by email is better. So for lower prices than the competition, and excellent quality they celarly deserve an 'A'.

My experience with him was fine. He was flexible. He actually billed me for more than the deal. But I told him that we agreed only for the deal and that I won't pay anymore. He did the work and hauled away the trees. I didn’t have any issues with them. They were professional.

Trimming occurred when I was gone. We previously discussed leaving the skirt on one of the evergreen trees, but it was gone when I came home. Cuts on the trunk seem clean. Clean up of big stuff was good but lots of little branches and twigs on the ground and in my gardens.

They arived on schedule, did a great job and cleaned up. Were in and out in 4 hours, including lunch.

Excellent and friendly service. There was a little bit of difficulty in communication as most of it was done through voicemail, but I accept half of that blame for not being more available to receive calls. The day they were scheduled to arrive, a swarm of trimmers showed up on time and quickly went to work. They made my scraggly 12 year old river birch look happy and healthy again. We've already received several compliments from the neighbors. Woody's took care of all of the trimming and debris and left the lawn looking clean and clear. I would definitely recommend they to anyone interesting in tree trimming.

Had to have a pile of brush removed and tree limbs put into a chipper, along with a large stump removed. They did a great job and were very nice people to deal with. I will use them again, and recommend them to anyone looking for a quality yet reasonable tree or tree limb service.

They were very professional. They did everything we asked. They were significantly less than every other company we called. They did everything they said they would! We were very pleased with them.

They did a great job removing the tree quickly and effeciently, however when they came back to grind out the stump, the pile of wood chips, about 3 feet high by 6 feet long, was left in the yard, which we then had to remove ourselves. We did not know that this was going to be left behind.

I had them come out for an estimate and the extra cost's were too much for me right now. The price of the deal was good but, I cannot afford the extra cost. He was nice but he did not respond too quickly.

Woody's called to schedule the "deal" estimate. The scheduler inquired if we could have him visit us on Sunday. I though it odd, but then realized maybe they were having a large response to the "deal". It was set for Sunday, August 11 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. We were having company at 12 noon, but scheduled him anyway because we thought he would arrived prior to that time. At 12:30, I received a call from Mark that he was running behind and would be at our home before 1 p.m. He arrived at 12:45. He did not introduce himself and immediately asked what trees we wanted serviced. My husband told him, he took one minute to look and came back and mumbled it would be $650. My husband asked him about the $200 worth of service for $99 and Mark gave a snide remark about "that Angie's list thing" and to just take $200 off the estimate. We've used Woody's before and he was very reasonable. This estimate seemed particularly high. Also, he had to know that we had this deal as we've already paid for it and I scheduled it as such. I am not at all happy with the customer service we did not receive.

I got a quote from Woody's to remove 2 very large trees in my backyard, one was very close to a fence, and the other very close to my house and deck so I was concerned about them not damaging my property. I had 3 estimates, and Woody's was the cheapest. They also have a bucket truck that can fit through a small fence opening to get to the backyard; other companies did not have this option. One other company didn't even give me a quote when I told him Woody's estimate because he said, "I can't beat that, and I've heard Woody's know what they are doing." They came out with a "double crew" and finished cutting down the 2 large trees, as well as 3 smaller trees, cleaned up, and were done in 2 hours!!! I was amazed and they didn't leave debris all over the place. I was very happy. They were to return later in the week to grind the stumps (not done as of yet), and I haven't been billed yet, so there may be an update to this post if needed. Otherwise I was very happy and don't understand the poor reviews here. Woody's is very highly rated, rightfully so, on Angie's List.

I'm pleased with it. They did a very good job in cleaning afterwards. The three-group of the owner did the work and I'm satisfied with that.

We will use this company again and have recommended them to friends. The price and quality were great. They were very professional, helpful and did a great job.

He took care of all the trimming I needed to have done and also a little more. Very satisfied with the end result.

they are schedule for late june to do the work I told Mark to make I'm there before starting. They called me a made sure I was present. They did a great job. I will have them back on few more trees that need trimming out.

Look no further!. Woody?s truly is the best. Thank you Angie?s List for introducing me to Woody?s. I never heard of them before, but reading all of the positive Angie reviews ensured me they were reputable (very important). Plus they had an Angie?s coupon $200 worth of work for $111 (49% off). How many companies give you almost half off? I was intrigued but the proof is in the pudding, so I emailed for an estimate appointment. Instantly got a reply from Janice, their amazing office manager. She helped me set up the appointment, Mark the owner came out to my house at the agreed upon time, gave a thorough examination of the area (tree overhung over our neighbor?s fence, cable wires nearby, etc) and gave an estimate. We had gotten an estimate from another place before Woody?s and the guy only asked if he could pull his truck up onto our neighbor?s driveway. That guy's plan was to do it all himself and to use a chainsaw and ropes and it would be an all day job. God only knows where those branches would have fallen! Plus his estimate was way higher than Woody?s (even without Woody?s coupon!) Communication with Woody?s was very simple and done both through phone and email (very unusual for a landscaping company). The crew was highly professional, respectful, and courteous. The crew came to the job with the right number of people and the right tools. They had this automatic lifting ladder thing like firemen use. Within minutes, one crew member chopped down most of the tree branches while the other guys instantly cleaned up branches and mulched them. Their teamwork was amazing. The entire job was done in less than 3 hours. We watched in amazement. Their superior knowledge and experience is evident. It is obvious they take great pride in their work and strive to please the customer. If ever I need more tree work done, Woody?s will be my first and only phone call. And I?m singing Woody?s praises to all my neighbors and friends as well! Thank you to Mark, Janice, and the crew! You are the best!

Mark came out on a Sunday to give us a verbal estimate of the work. The crew appeared a few days later with shiny new equipment. They listened to what we wanted and did not want and were careful not to cut limbs we wanted saved. As a result, the trees look great. They cleaned up everything. One little unfortunate detail: the tractor left its mark on our grass.

We had three trees in our back yard. Originally we only wanted one of the trees (that was growing over our house) cut down. We solicited several estimates which ranged from $900 ? $1750. The lowest estimate of $900 came from Woody?s Tree Service. We asked them to provide us with a new estimate to remove two trees and grind the stumps. They came back with an estimate of $1400. So we scheduled them to come out on a Tuesday. They came to our house and removed all of the branches on both trees. By the end of the day all that was left were about 15 feet of trunk on each tree and big sections of branches on the ground, too big to go through their wood chipper. The next few days it rained heavily. There was major flooding of streets and rivers in the area. When the rain finally let up I contacted Woody?s and was told they would be back the next Monday to finish the job. When my wife and I got home on that Monday the trunks and branches were gone, the stumps still remained, there were thick muddy tracks all the way down our driveway, and a large area of my back where I had grass was now stripped bare. I emailed the owner?s sister (the person that apparently handles the finances and scheduling for Woody?s) and complained that it looked like Woody?s had driven a truck on my yard and tore it up. I found out that they had used a Bobcat to remove the large portions of tree and, in the process, my grass. I asked when they would come out and grind down the stumps. I was told they would come out the next day. The next day, Tuesday, it poured rain again. This did not deter Woody?s from coming out with a stump grinder and shooting ground up wood all over the muddy yard they had left the day before. I asked Woody?s to let me know what they were going to do to fix my yard. Woody?s told me to get a quote from a landscaper they recommended. I could not get a quote from them (this is a subject for another Angie?s List review I will post). I was able to get a quote from another landscaper that I found online. I emailed that quote to Woody?s. It was now the Sunday after my yard was tore up. The next day I got a nonsensical voicemail message from the owner of Woody?s. He threatened to go to court and put a lien on my property and said that I had planned all along for Woody?s to tear up my yard. Since I had never said I was not going to pay I do not know why I was threatened with legal action. I made a copy of the voice mail and sent it to the owner?s sister. Then next morning I mailed a personal check for $1400 to Woody?s. Later that day I received an email back from the owner?s sister in which she admits that they should have waited till the yard had sufficiently dried before driving a Bobcat all over it and tearing it up. She even offered a ?compromise? and told me to send her a ?cashier?s check? in the amount of $1000 to Woody?s. I replied to the email and told her that I had already sent a personal check . I asked for a work completed or paid in full receipt (since the only paperwork I had from them was an estimate form). And since they offered it, I told Woody?s that I thought it would be nice if they sent the $400 compromise difference back to me (it will cost at least $300 in topsoil alone to repair the yard). Woody?s cashed the check on 5 May. It is now 12 June. I sent a follow up email to Woody?s on 27 May inquiring about the receipt and the refund. To date I have received no reply. I have had several landscape companies give me estimates on repairing the damage that Woody's Tree Service did to my yard. The cheapest I received was $1600. I have a copy of all emails, the owner's voice mail, and pictures of the damage Woody's Tree Service did. If you have read this please take my advice - pay the extra money and get your tree removal service from someone else

Went well, no problems. Bought a coupon from Angie's List for $200. Total cost of the job was $275.

I contacted Woody's by phone and left a message. Janice of Woody's contacted me shortly and I would have a quote by the next day. Janice sent me the quote by E-mail with a contract (10% discount being an Angie's List member). I signed the contract and faxed it back. In five days the items were cut down and the stumps ground-up as per contract. Excellent cleanup. Thank you Wood's. ..

I would rate them an 'A'. I got 3 different estimates and they were the best. I think he gave me a better price than he maybe normally would because I told him he was the third and he wanted to be competitive. I got a great deal. The quality of service was good. They were prompt. They got the trees removed as soon as the weather permitted. They came back and stumped. The only thing I would say that they didn't do was that the contract said that they would remove all the debri. They did well with the tree but they did leave some with the stumping. I guess they had a stumping specialist to come back a couple of day later and he didn't remove the debri. My tenets spread it around so that it wasn't just in the middle of the yard. Given that they give me such a good price I was still happy with them.

They trimmed my tree in front and back, and removed my exposed tree roots. Everything went very well. The only regret I have is that I was not present when the trees were trimmed. That's my fault. Next time I'll know.

The boss and his crew of 3 arrived. One crew member took the one tree and another took the second tree and the third did the hedges. They were in and out of here in an hour. I was impressed with the teamwork and the clean-up.

Overall, the experience was wondeful. They did exactly the work contracted, cleaned up the yard, and were extremely timely. The cost was very reasonable and stumps were ground a few days after the main trees were removed. I've had a number of tree service work done at our property with a few companies (w/varying levels of success). Woody's did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Just had Woody's Tree Service from Libertyville, IL. out to prune and shape our trees. A full crew of 5 guys, owner Mark and german shepherd mascot Sargent(?). Friendly, polite and professional, the guys made quick work of trimming 5 trees, wrapping up in about 45 min. What surprised me was that the guys actually climbed into the trees to trim the upper branches! Mascot Sargent was well behaved, playing fetch with a stick. Boss Mark was equally affable and chatty, helpfully trimming the larger branches for my pile of firewood. He even went so far as to cut up some of my existing firewood that was too long! The crew was very good about picking up all the branches that they trimmed as well as cleaning off the driveway of any sawdust they generated. I would highly recommend Woody's Tree Service to service your trees. They did a good job as well as made you feel comfortable with the entire process. Thanks guys! :))
