Woody's Tree Service

Great. This is the second time we had Woody perform tree removal services and we would definitely use them again.

We called Mark last spring to evaluate the trees on our new property and came up with a plan to remove the dead or nearly dead trees and grind out the stumps from trees that fell a few years ago. We also had him trim all of the remaining trees on the property. We planned the tree removal around putting in a new fence so we did it in two rounds and also have had the stump grinder guys out three times as we found more stumps as we cleaned up the yard and also had buckthorn roots ground out. Every crew he has sent out has been very professional and done a great job. One of the trees was right against the house and three were the tallest on our block and pretty close to a power line. Mark's crew did a great job safely removing all of them. I highly recommend Woody's for all of your tree service needs.

I've used Woody's in the past and will continue to use in the future if need be. They are reliable and the prices seem very competitive.

Worst professional I've ever hired. Hired to trim and shape a 35' pine tree plus trim some other trees on my lot. They mistakenly completely removed the 35' pine tree. In addition, the crew that day chained a large german shepherd to our basketball pole without asking or letting us know. We have an invisible fence for our dog and when we let him out the german shepherd nearly got him in his jaws. The area the pine was in had flowers and plants surrounding it that were completely trampled. When I called Woody's office to tell them what happened, they apologized. Mark came out and I showed him and he said he'd make it right. He told me to pick out a tree and he would pay for and plant the tree. I called and told them what tree I wanted. After several weeks and many calls they finally called me back. Woody's had a landscape company call me to schedule the replacement. When I spoke with the landscape company, they said Woody's would pay the bill. A week later the landscape company called me and said Mark at Woody's told him to collect from me. After several more messages to Woody's and Mark, I finally got a hold of him live. I told him how upset I was and disappointed. He said he didn't care and hung up on me. Needles to say I will never use Woody's again and would never recommend a dishonest businessperson like Mark.

It was great! I’d give them a B+. The trees look great and they did a good job. Scheduling was easy to handle (although they didn’t call before they showed up). I would recommend them, though.

Went great. It took some time to get the service scheduled/estimated but once it was done, they did a solid job. The tree looked better than I thought it would.

I called and made an appointment for Mark to come to our house the morning his crew was working next door and he never showed up or called.

They got back to me quickly. The communication was good. They were a little more than another company charged but with the other company, the communication was not good.

I decided to go with them because their reviews were good. His choice was reasonable. Things were good. There were stuff where they asked me about the working tools. They were easy to contact.

Hard to get at location. Fenced in yard. tree two feet from fence. power lines along back of yard. branches over top of lines. Took care of everything in three days. Used a boom truck to clear limps form lines, using business lot behind house. Neighbor had concerns about heavy equipment using his drive, plus too narrow to get boom truck in without removing awning. Woody's had a portable lift that was tall enough to do the job from neighbors drive. He also used the portable lift to trim the pine branches off the 2 story home. He met the lowest price, plus had the knowledge, equipment and experience to complete a professional job.

They were really excellent. I was very impressed with the fellow, Mark, who I guess does most of that type of work for Woody's. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. The work was done on time. He allowed me to pick a date and I picked a date and he came.

Came promptly to provide a verbal estimate. However when the written estimate arrived, it didn't match the verbal estimate (was not for the same amount of work). When I complained, they came out again and confirmed the original verbal estimate. Not the best way to start. The tree work was done well. Several of the trees to be trimmed were quite close to the house. They were planning to drop the trimmed branches to the ground from a high height. I had to point out that there were outside lights under the drop area before they seemed to notice that. Once pointed out, they made sure to drop the branches away from the iights. There was a problem with the removal of a large double-trunked elm. It was in a garden near a bird feeder. They removed the feeder the support pole before starting, but somehow the support pole got sheared off at ground level. The two workers ended up sticking what remained of the pole and feeder into the ground, but when I checked on it, I noticed it was much lower in height than it had been. When I asked what had happened, both workers said they didn't know. It was only after they left that I noticed the main pole support had been sheared off at ground level. When I called to complain, Mark came out to inspect it and said he'd take care of it, which he did. My opinion is that the workers knew all along what had happened, but didn't own up to the problem they caused. The area where the trimming occurred was cleaned up well. In fact, Mark even allowed me to drag some branches from the woods and put them in his chipper while he was here. Mark was quite pleasant to work with. One potential problem if you have pets outside. Mark has a German Shepard who he brought with him. Before even announcing he was here, he let the dog run on my property. It treed my neighbor's cat, who happened to be in my backyard. If I had pets outside, I would not have been happy about his letting the dog run before asking.

I found Woody's Tree Service on Angie's list. Mark and his crew got here at 8am and finished the job at 2p. Rick did a fantastic job of trimming all the trees. The area was spotless after their cleanup. They even cut and stacked the logs that I could use for firewood; which for me was a huge plus. I feel the price was excellent for the job they completed. In fact, I have already recommended them to 2 of my friends. When the trees need it I will definitely use Woody's again.

We have used Woody several times in the past. Last year he removed a large dead hickory from our neighbors and several diseased Ash. I called Woody for an estimate on Tuesday and he arrived Thursday to do the work. The thing I like best is that the boss (Woody) always works along side his team! Questions promptly answered and team pleasant and professional. They cleaned up all debris. I would recommend them without reservation.

They were good. They were reasonable. They were polite and everything. They were professional enough for people who cut trees.

Provider never showed up. Then they said its raining and then they said we need to wait till spring and then they never tried to make the appt.

They did a great job, were very professional and seem to genuinely care about people they're working with. I had them give a quote to my new neighbor and they also used their services because their prices were about $400 cheaper than other quotes they received. They, too, were very happy with the work that was done for them, but they're not members of Angie's List, so I'm including that here. Beyond doing a great job, they just couldn't have been nicer. It's a bit of a throwback to how business used to be. I highly recommend them.

The coupon is good until May, I believe. I hope to hear from them before then.

They were great! They arrived and placed boards down on our neighbors lawn for the caterpillar truck to remove brances & stump as they were cut. The yard was not damaged in the least. The tree was hanging over both houses, a fence, a shed, a patio and power lines. Everything went wonderfully and the premises was totally cleared and clean! Neighbors so impressed, they got Woody's number. Will only use Woody's if ever need tree work done again!

He is very professional and thorough but we chose someone else.

Came back a week later to grind down the stump. Would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them.

I purchased a deal of $200 of tree trimming for $99. A couple days after I purchased the offer, someone came to the house to give us an estimate on trimming some trees. I was happy they came out so quickly. The man didn't introduce himself. We were not given a written estimate. Later, I emailed, and was then told the name of the guy, and was provided with a written estimate. The estimate did not match what I was given verbally. There was no further contact with them. I will contact them in the spring to get my offer fulfilled, and then take it from there.

They took out a gigantic tree in our yard and ground the stump. The service went very well. They did a good job with their clean up and they hauled away the tree and chips. My neighbors came to watch the work ended up hiring the provider as well.

I purchased 2 coupons for service. Woody's Tree Service initially sent out their representative on August 7th to assess what would need to be done and how much more it might cost. Mark showed up early for the appointment (no one was home), but called to say that he counted 23 trees; and that it was too early in the season, and the trimming would need to wait until the 1st or 2nd week of November. He said that they would contact me again in mid-October to schedule a time to come out. As for how many trees would be covered by the $400 worth of service, he did not give a specific number, but my recollection is that he indicated that additional trees would average around $100-$120/each. On Oct. 30th, I contacted them to remind them that I had purchased the Big Deal coupons in August, and that I would like to schedule the service. On Oct 31st, they responded that they would like to have Mark stop by on Nov 3rd to give an estimate and talk about the job (which he did). On Nov 5th, I received a message from Woody's stating: "(Mark) looked at your trees and determined that they are very tall and we can only trim 1 of the tree for the $400.00. We will need to bring in our cherry picker and a crew of 3 to get your job done. If you would like us to go ahead with it. please mark the tree that you would like to have trimmed. If you decided not to go ahead with the job, you can get a refund from Angies list." Although it would have been nice if they had at least provided an option (ex: we can do one of these trees for this amount, or if we don't bring in a cherry picker, we can trim all of the low hanging branches on these trees for the same amount), or perhaps outlined in the "Big Deal" how many trees are typically covered per coupon. I have no complaint with Woody's.

One tree required a return visit, which they completed yesterday.
