Toptec did an awesome job from start to finish. They were prompt, professional and responsive. The quality of their work was top notch. I highly recommend them.

I have used Top Tec for more than five years, and have been very satisfied. Over this time I've spent over $15,000 on goods and services from them. But recently I experienced a customer service problem that was very disappointing. I pay for an annual service service contract for my furnace, AC, water heater and sump pump. Apparently they charged me the wrong amount last fall when I paid for these contracts. The technician came in the spring to service the AC and sump pump and I thought all was well. Two months ago I received an invoice for $66, stamped with PAST DUE in bright red ink. It was't a polite inquiry -- it was quite direct and terse. This was clearly an error, and I did not understand why they sent a past due invoice. I am proud of my credit score, and the thought that it might be affected due to a Top Tec billing error was very upsetting. I called and left a message --- angry, but otherwise appropriate. They never returned my call. The next month I received another PAST DUE notice. I called again, and left another angry but appropriate message. Again no return call. I called the next day, and was able to connect to someone in accounting. After a few minutes conversation, they admitted they under charged me in the fall for the sump pump service contract. I am more than willing to pay what I owe, and they sent a new invoice for the lower amount, which I paid promptly. They never apologized for their billing error, never apologized for sending a past due notice, and only removed the 'past due' from my account when I asked for this. This is very unsatisfactory customer service.

They were pretty reasonably quick. The one thing that I found that was funny was that the technician told me that at some point I would needed a new furnace and air conditioning and he was going on his own to get that.

It was very well done. They did it on time, so I'd definitely use them again.

Our air conditioner got broken at 95 degree hot weather. I called the company and requested the emergency visit. The service center told me the technician will call me within an hour. 18 hours later nobody called. Can't trust this company. They are not responsible even at the emergency situation.

The quality of their work was good. Their employees were professional and courteous. However, the owner suggested some additional work to improve airflow maintain even temperatures throughout the house. I agreed to this work, but the temperatures still weren’t even. When I called to complain, the owner then told me the problem may be due to leaky windows or insulation. I was very disappointed by this, because he never brought that up during his sales pitch. I felt that this was dishonest of him. If I had been aware that my windows or insulation were the possible reason for uneven the temperatures, I may have made a completely different choice.

The pricing was okay. They have been there three times for the same problem. We couldn?t find out what the problem was and they had to try different things and they explained why. They finally fixed the problem. They were good and I would call them again. They didn't return our phone calls.

Did a very thorough inspection of my existing heating system. Took time to explain problems, options and recommendations. Did not send an estimate or contact me after the visit. Price rating is based on the costs discussed during the visit.

I believe that TopTec's owner is extremely knowledgeable, customer focused and conscientious. His analysis and recommendations were thorough and well presented. While pleased with the results of these expensive home improvements, we were disappointed with the service level of the staff who implemented them. Throughout the basement and in every room where work was done, we found scrap plastic, paper, open soda cans, wood shavings, etc. When we communicated these concerns to the owner, he promptly scheduled a personal visit and promised to remedy them. On the upside, correcting these issues simply involves directing the installers to collect and remove any garbage they create, and clean up the work areas with a wetvac.

I received an estimate from Toptec for new furnace equipment which was very competitively priced. While I really wanted to use Toptec, the main reason that I ended up not using them is that they were very far from my service location. I was concerned that if any problems with the installation ever arose that I would be putting them out for having to drive so far to my location. I would definitely urge others to consider them highly when getting an estimate.

It went very well, we were worried that we'd have to buy a new furnace. We are so glad we have someone who really understands our system and how to service it!!

Joe, the companies president, was very thorough while providing his estimate. After several other competing bids we decided to use Top Tec. We agreed on a date of service. The installers showed up several days early at 8am and I turned them away. Then at 1pm another installer showed up while we were away from home. I found out from a third party and called the company and spoke to the VP of the company. He gave me a reason for the double mix-up and assured me that he would make it up to me. I don't know what he meant by that but I did expect at least some token jesture. There was none, unless you consider that they showed up on the correct date the next time. On the date of installation everything went well. The installers were professional and knowledgeable and completed the install in the two days as planned. One problem that did occur was that they needed to move the utility sink in order to get to the location to do some duct work. With the installation complete and the sink back in place, the sink is now blocking access to the electronic air cleaner. I now have to replace the sink or disconnect it to service the filter. I told the installers that I would be replacing the sink. They said that they would tell Joe about this issue and that he might be willing to help defray the cost. Now a month after the install and I have not heard from Top Tec. Another small issue I had with the installers. After they had left I noticed that they had put Top Tec stickers on units that they did not work on. In the case of my water heater, they put a Top Tec sticker over the sticker of the company that installed it. They also put a sticker on the PVC of the sump pump that they had nothing to do with. I found this very unprofessional and certainly unnecessary. I have removed those stickers. That action puts a tarnish on the other fine work they performed. I will also say that it seemed like the installers were unaware of several of the actions that Joe said his people would perform. I would suggest that you be home during an install and make sure that everything is spelled out in the paperwork. One of my example was some small stone under the part of the a/c pad that was not on the concrete. They did not bring the stone and after I mentioned the stone to them that part of the installation was held up until someone brought them the material. Overall, I spent more money with Top Tec than I could have with another company. But I feel that I got a high end product with Rheem and the installation looks solid.

Top tech estimated about 500$ for the part and labor too. They came over and fixed the problem but they charged additionally 200$ more than the estimate. This is surprising though they should have known exactly how much time it would have taken to change a compressor if they were experienced enough. Also all the time during their servie, the technician was repeatedly trying to sell other things which may not have been needed. Other than this, AC worked fine and no complaints on the part till now.

Was on time, performed service quickly, advised state of system.

Overall the repair went very well. The worker called me to let me know he was running late, and arrived at the new time. He found the root cause and gave me options and explained all the risks so I could make an informed decision. He did a great job, and everything is back to normal.

TOPTEC did a great job from start to finish installing my new furnace and an attic fan. They arrived on time and the technician who was in charge, kept me updated as to how things were going. Everyone who worked in my home was professional and courteous. The job went very smoothly and when they finished they cleaned up properly and even asked me if the clean up job was to my satisfaction. The AC and heat work great, and I even had 3 cold air returns installed which has improved the air flow to the furnace, increasing the efficiency. I'm very happy with the outcome and would recommend them highly.

The technician was on time and very courteous. He took care not to soil the floors in our house with his work boots. He showed me the problem, and installed the new part. I would definitely recommend him.

Our technician, Arturo Sanchez, was terrific! We were so sure that this was going to be a big expense and that something was terribly wrong with our 20 yr. old unit, we were wrong, thank goodness! He knew right away what was wrong and explained everything to my husband. He was thorough and polite and knowledgable. We were thrilled that the job was done so quickly and at such a great price, he honored the discount coupon without any problem. What a nice man and great service! Our house is wonderfully cool again!

My air conditioner stopped working on a very hot and humid day. I found TopTec on Angie?s and picked them based on the positive reviews and in proximity to my home. Had to call in an emergency service, and they were able to send a technician out in a few hours. The technician was very knowledgeable. Took a while to locate the condenser unit outside of my apartment building, but that?s not something anyone else would be able to find that easily. After some testing, he determined that the condenser unit motor was out. That wouldn?t surprise me, as the unit is very old. He installed the replacement part that was compatible with this unit. After I received my bill, I questioned the price of the motor but according to the technician it was compatible with the market. Next day I called the company to talk about the price of the motor. I was explained that delivery charge is included in the price of the part. I asked for the 10% discount on the whole bill (offered through the Angie?s List) and it was honored with no hesitation. Overall I?m satisfied with the quality of the work performed. As with anything else, always get a quote before the job starts.

I called them monday morning, they said they would be there between 12 -1. They arrived about 12:00 and diagnosed the problem called with a estimate and fixed that problem at that time. A/c is working great.

Joe, the owner, was professional, punctual, knowledgeable and courteous. He gave a fair estimate. The work was completed quickly adn cleanly. The results were good.

Appointment was easy. Technician arrived on time and was very polite and professional. Took his time to explain what was going on and verified everything was working properly (except the board). Had to order board. Some confusion as to when it would arrive. Wish I'd gotten a call when it wasn't the next day. Board arrived on Wednesday, and was installed on Thursday.

They came out very promptly to replace my 40 gallon Rheem Guardian water heater. The first man came at 10 a.m. to drain the water heater and installation man came around 11:30 a.m. to do the actual installation. I was surprised it took until 4 p.m. to complete. ...six hours start to finish. They also replaced the turn off water valve and some of the top piping leading to valve.
