I had a pretty good experience with Toptec Heating,Cooling,Plumbing, & Electrical, Inc. There was some confusion when I called them, they didn't really know which deal I had. We have two boilers and so, we were going to get our two boilers done, so it would have been like $160.00 or something like that. They were confused about the deal and their regular price was $100.00 or something like that, so it wasn't really an accurate advertised price, according to their prices. They tried to do their best to get the best price for me, but they were very prompt and their servicemen were polite and they cleaned up after themselves. They found a leak in my heating. They fixed it. It was a good service. They were prompt. They had to cancel the first time, but they were really good about rescheduling it.

The estimate was a bit higher than others, but I went for the installer's reputation and that of the brand of furnace (Rheem). The owner/estimator was knowledgeable and answered my questions. He honored several discounts, including the Angie's coupon. The 2 installers arrived on time, and quickly removed the old furnace, cleaned the AC coils, and began installing the new one and a new thermostat. There was a lot hammering to get the smaller new furnace to fit the ductwork, and metallic tape was used to seal the junctions. The tape doesn't look that good, but the furnace is unseen in a closet, so I don't care. The new furnace has been working well. It is a little bit noisier than the old one in this cold weather, but the 2-stage motor should be quieter in the spring, when the heating load is less. The crew cleaned up well, and was done before 2 pm.

It went well - it was a great price and the service was good. He really tried to maximize his time while here. He event spent more time and didn't charge me for it than was agreed upon for the Angie's Deal.

The work was performed to my satisfaction. The only problem was the follow up of a pending faucet repair. I expected to get a call or an email.

He changed a light bulb in the garage, took down an old chandelier and replaced it.

Electrician came over and gave us detailed estimates of what we wanted done as well as some additional good suggestions. We decided we did not want to invest in our original job. So he fixed a few other minor issues that we were having since we had purchased a $99.00 Angie's List special.

they were fast to respond, called back, were ready to accommodate out timing . Had to go with another company that was first to give us an estimate, since they were ready to replace out of service ferneace.

We bought specials on them from Angie’s List, which was for $89. The service was excellent. My wife was there and she said that they were on time. They explained what they were going to do and did it. They had some tips on how to get the most out of our heating system and on filters. They did fine.

We purchased the Angie's special coupon, and decided to use it to repair a leaky faucet. My wife made an appointment, the repair man showed up as scheduled, looked at the faucet and said it needed a cartridge. Then, he told my wife the old cartridge was frozen into the faucet and that he was afraid he would break the faucet if he tried to remove the cartridge. He didn't want to be responsible for breaking and replacing the faucet, so he left. He also reeked of cigarette smoke, and the smoke lingered in the house for almost an hour after he left.

They were very professional and arrived ahead of the scheduled appointment. After looking at the heater that I needed the humidifer, they did their best to find a way to install it. Unfortunately there isn't a water source to get to the heater and they explained what would need to be done by having a plumber out to run pipes through the walls and it sounded like it was going to be a much larger project than I can do right now. They offered to extend the price to a friend or family member if I had one to give the coupon to but I have decided to get a refund.

The guy I talked to (I think his name was Joe) was rude and I felt like I was in convincing him and his workers. I wanted to get an estimate for some work and I want to do it around 4pm. He said that they normally do not work after 4 and especially not for an Angies list Big Deal. I got the estimate anyway and they were much higher than their competitors. I felt like they didn't want the job anyway. So I wasted $99. I probably won't get another Angies List Big Deal again.

I only gave a "B" for "responsiveness" because while Toptec offers an email address... I've had a couple of email addresses go unanswered. Email is a great convenience for people who have meetings or other obligations during the day that keep them from being able to make phone calls. We plan to have Toptec back to do a dryer vent cleaning, and then again in the spring to do some work on a gas line to our grill.

Our furnace stopped working on Sunday at 5:00 am. What a bad time to get work done. We called and received a prompt response from the technician with the details about when he would show up and how much it would cost. He performed the work and provided good info about the furnace. Now we have heat for the coming week.

i purchased an Angies' List BigDeal promotion for 2 hours of electrical work for $99 from TopTec Electrical. The job was to replace a hard-wired timer for my outside driveway lights, which no longer worked. The old, mechanical timer was located in the garage and I had already removed the drywall around it for access (of course hoping I could somehow replace the timer myself, which I couldn't). When I called for the appt, I asked TopTec what kind of timer I should replace it with and they provided several options. I purchased a digital timer ahead of time and had it ready for the electician when he arrived. The electrician, Peter, arrived on time, was very professional and thorough in his review of the job at hand. With the garage wall cavity exposed, he pointed out some areas in violation of Electrical Code (the wires did not terminate in a box and they were not in conduit) that needed to be fixed and he explained why. He stated he could do all the work including correcting the wiring within the allotted time and it would only cost a few dollars more for the additional supplies. He knew exactly what to do and went about his work very efficiently. He did an excellent and very neat job. He explained how the timer worked and set it up for me before leaving. Peter was very friendly and helpful and in my opinion, very, very honest. Before he left I asked him how long he had worked for TopTec and how he liked working for them. He said he had worked for TopTec for awhile and enjoyed it because the Company really emphasizes honesty, integrity, and quality from the owner all the way down the organization. He told me the owner believes in keeping the costs reasonable and providing absolutely excellent service. Based on Peter's electrical service, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Toptec and will call on them next time I need work done.

Overall it went very well. Electrician showed up at the appointed time. Could not repair as it needed spare parts. He ordered the parts which came in a couple of days after. Replaced the lights and they work well. Price was within budget

These folks were wonderful. I had had them out a few months back when my furnace stopped blowing hot air. At that time, I needed an ignitor, for approximately $237. So when Thanksgiving we were completely out of heat, I called them again. The provided me with some choices in written estimates. I was able to decide and they were here the next morning to install it. It took most of the day, they were very polite and professional. They had me check out the work before I signed and explained all the information to me. They did all the leg work for the $400 rebate and discounted my price by that much. They also gave me a discount for the previous work I had done a few months earlier to replace the ignitor. They were fabulous, and cleaned up their mess as well!!!

They arrived on time and completed repair efficiently. Gave input on some future projects. Would use again. Have used this company prior for furnace check and clean. Was pleased with that transaction as well.

As I mentioned, the electrician was very professional and did a fine job after he had the appropriate part. In this instance, my $99 coupon was of little value since I ended up paying for a second visit and also paying additionally for the up charge of having the electrician order the part instead of doing it directly to save money.

The Toptec electrician came to our house to assess and repair our front lamp post light. He was on time, and very professional. Unfortunately, after about an hour, tracing the wiring, and looking for the most reasonable solution, he couldn't make the repair without having to tear up parts of our sidewalk and driveway to re-wire the lamp post. Instead, he suggested a very simple, and cost-effective do-it-yourself solar replacement which did the trick at almost no cost! The re-wiring would have cost us between $2-3,000. The solar replacement fixture cost $141!

Came on time. Assessed the situation. Picked up the necessary part and fixed a constant drip that had confused previous plumbers.

Visit I called Toptec to schedule the service call. I had the info on our whole home humidifier which hasn't been on. As it wasn't a common unit I felt like like I was searching for more info on it than they were. I just googled to find the info. When the tech came out, he looked at it, took a picture, which I already had done, and said they would have to get back to us. Not sure why the visit was necessary as I already had a pic and it was just another time I needed to be home. Didn't hear anything back, so I called to follow up. Was basically starting over. But on to visit 2 which was great. On visit 2, an in depth analysis was done of everything. Issues were explained and options given. This is what I was hoping for in the first place. A shame it took 2 visits, but I think it was worth it. They did an excellent job this time. Maybe just an unlucky first visit. We do plan on working with them for our HVAC needs. They seem reputable and the second visit put us at ease. The score is a B. a C for first encounter and an A for the second. I will review after we have the work done.

Bad news: electrician rescheduled and then was late. Good news: he was full of very useful advice, patiently answered questions, and did complete some minor electrical work to our satisfaction.

The technician was right on time, was extremely professional and friendly and helpful when helping us decide how to mount an overhead light. He was honest with the time and cost involved. The job was done efficiently and clean up was excellent.

This Big Deal went well. They delivered what was promised in a timely fashion with not a lot up-sell pressure.
