Can't say enough good things about Adam from Toptec! He was prompt, professional, and informative. Explained all aspects of the service and made recommendations to make our air conditioner more efficient. Will definitely use Toptec again in the furture!

Our technician was very professional and friendly. He serviced our air conditioner units and made sure that everything was working properly before he left. We enjoyed the service provided to us and signed up for the one-year maintenance plan as it was the most cost-effective solution for our house.

I did pay for an additional part that was needed. The work was excellent, they did a very nice job. Adam, the tech, was very knowledgeable. He invited me to come along with him and explained the work that he was performing.

I had a water heater in the house that is 12 years old and it was time to get a replacement before it failed. I was interested in a tankless water heater so as to use less energy and have an unlimited water hot water supply. I had 2 estimates. This provider was the more expensive of the two, but convinced me that the Rheem was a more reliable model than others on the market. The providers came on time, cleanup was done well after the installation. They explained all that they did before the project and during the project. The installation was finished on time and well done. Note that with the tankless system, it does take a little longer for the hot water to flow but after it arrives, there is unlimited hot water available. They helped with the paperwork for the rebates from the utility companies but unfortunately had me sign in the wrong place so that I have to resend the paperwork. Not a real bad problem and the utility company notified me promptly by email [bravo for them].

Overall, the work completed was very poor. My furnace was not working correctly ever since he came to my home. I will not use him again. The minute he came here he was trying to be a salesman and charge me the most he could.

Very efficient and friendly. They called us first to schedule. Inspected and cleaned both AC systems. Very happy with the service call.

Great customer service. Came after hours, walked me through the problem and tested the defective capacitor with the volt meter right in front of me to show me it was toast. Put in the new one quickly and painlessly. Highly recommended.

I don't know if I just caught them on a slow day, but they were able to come out the same day that I called, which worked out well. The person I spoke with on the phone was friendly. So was the technician that came out to my house. He explained what he was going to be doing in order to clean our A/C unit, and he did it in a timely manner and seemed polite/professional/competent throughout his visit. At the end, just prior to leaving, he mentioned his company's PMA (Preventive Maintenance Agreement) and provided me with a quote for that service. He also mentioned that they offer a free plumbing inspection and a $99 sump pump cleaning and inspection. Lastly, he recommended the installation of a whole house surge protector, which they could provide and install for $399. He spent no more than five minutes explaining these extra services, and he was not at all pushy. I'm guessing they make very little, if any, profit on these Big Deals and offer them simply to try to attract new customers. I have no problem with that...it just makes good business sense. Overall everything went smoothly and I will consider giving them my business in the future.

The service technician took the time to show me what was wrong with my furnace and to explain the things I needed to do in order to keep my furnace running efficiently. He was on time, polite and knowledgeable.

I called and spoke with Joe on the phone who was pleasant and easy to schedule maintenance check. Jim came out promply at the scheduled time and spent about an hour performing the work. He looked up the serial numbers of my A/C and Furnace to tell me their proper age and made appropriate suggestions regarding proper maintenance and unit expectations.

Last Monday, I called and made an appointment. They came within a day. Brett Lack fixed my problem, was courteous, and professional. I will recommend Top Tec's services to anyone. I was very pleased. This was the first time that I used Angie's List recommendations and I am very impressed.

Rob arrived about 10 minutes later than expected. He proceeded to the basement to locate the furnace, then to the thermostat, and finally to the air condition unit outside the house. While I did some quick chores, he evaluated the furnace, noting that there were signs of corrosion on the heat exchanger, leading him to inquire about the age of our carbon monoxide detectors. I didn't recall when we bought them, and he encouraged us to find out and replace them if they were older than 3 years. Then he proceeded to the air conditioner to check the coolant load and the electrical system. He noted that some parts had been replaced at some point in the past, and commented that these replacements were showing their age. He cautioned that the air conditioner would likely have problems during the next cooling season due to high current draw. Repairing the air conditioner would cost about $1000, and replacing the entire system would cost about $9000. Since the system is 20 years old, we're leaning towards replacement, and I told Rob I would get back to TopTec after I did some homework. Rob was personable, but wasted no time getting to work and completed the check in a little over an hour.

I had to call them few times to bring a tecnician to my house. They postponed the service couple of times. Anyway, when the technician came I showed him small little things that I wanted him to do, like 1) removing a ceiling fan in the kitchen and placing a light fixture there; 2) replcing an old llight fixture with a new one in bathroom: 3) I have a loose electrical socket in the living room floor (which probably previous owner used to connect vacum cleaner), I wanted to attach that into the floor and make it secure. He took two hours to removed a ceiling fan in kitchen and put two ordinary light fixtures, one in the kitchen and on in the bathroom. Did not have time to do anything about he socket in floor in the living room. However, the technician was courteous.

The first time I used them, they did not really follow up with me. I was planning to have them do some more work for me. I did call them up and left a message, but nobody called me back. Their service was fine. Their service price was fine with the coupon.

My experience with them worked out fine. I had to contact them because they never did contact me. The price was typical. It wasn't a discount by any means. Replacing a capacitor can be pretty pricey but the price I had to pay for it wasn't too low or too high. Once they determined that they'd overlooked me they sent someone out right away.

We had to do a call back a month later due to a small issue on the placement of the unit and thus the "B" grade overall but was very pleased with the professionalism of both individuals that performed the work. I would not hesitate to use Toptec in the future.

They were fine, no problems. They did what they said would do.

This was a very poor and unsatisfactory experience. I selected the company based on Angie's List recommendations and proximity. When I called the company to explain the problem, I gave them both the make and model of the water heater as well as the error code displayed. They told me they did service this heater and would send an experienced technician. He arrived promptly and was polite. I explained the problem. He said the system needed flushing and that would fix the problem. It took a couple of hours and cost about $350. The next morning I went to take a shower and the system shut down again, just as before. The same error code was displayed. I called TopTec to see what to do. It was my suggestion to them that they call the manufacturer to ensure they were proceeding correctly. The technician returned and said the company told him it needed to be flushed again, which he did and charged us another $350. The next day I took a shower and the water went from hot to tepid, back to hot, back to tepid without any change in setting. At this point, I called the manufacturer myself. Their technical support told me that the reason the first system flush didn't work was because the technician didn't have the power on while he did it, which is the only way to get the fluid (vinegar) to pass through the heat exchanger. I called TopTec to protest having had to pay twice for the same procedure. The technician never told us that he had to do the flushing twice because he hadn't consulted any technical literature or manufacturing support concerning a heater he didn't really have experience with. The general manager acknowledged that was a mistake but told me they couldn't be expected to know everything about every water heater and that my water heater was in the "5%" of heaters outside of their experience (despite being told they were experienced in servicing this heater when I called). He refused to credit us and said it was unreasonable of me to expect them "to swallow the cost" of the mistake. To my mind, making mistakes is part of the cost of doing business and one should own up to that. While TopTec may have excellent technicians, their view of professional ethics falls far below what I feel should be expected. In my experience this is an untrustworthy company that should be avoided.

Overall the experience was excellent. The Technician took the time to explain what he was doing. He also took the time to explain and show me some tips for preventative maintenance to keep my furnace and A/C unit running longer. I would definitely use this company again.

A two-man team arrived within two hours of my call and they were very courteous and professional. They took care not to bring snow in with them (we were having a big snowstorm that day, too) and worked neatly and quickly to remove the old hot-water heater. The new heater was installed without any problems. I liked that they didn't hesitate to answer all my questions and showed me all of the controls and settings on the new heater and made sure i knew how to set it, restart it, and drain it for maintenance.

They were tried to do what they could to help me get the best value. However, they could not do what I wanted them to do.

Joe and his staff at TopTec could not be more professional. I received a written quote including with spec sheet of the equipment I was having installed. The office called the morning of the install to confirm everything was on schedule. The guys arrived on time and then covered my flooring from the door to the installation area! The technician walked me through the operation of the equipment until I had a full understanding. The work was completed in the time frame as promised and, the work areas where cleaned before leaving.

Everything turned out very well. At first they were slow to get back to me and order the materials that I needed. They were very apologetic and later became very prompt, solicitous, and did I wonderful job...
