The Tech Tony that came out was very good. He did a good job and was on time for the appointment.

It was pretty much an in-and-out operation. I have no reason to praise or criticize there work.

Purchased Big Deal for end of season air conditioner clean and check. The provider responded quickly and was able to set up an appointment the next day. The technician arrived on time and performed the required clean and check. The technician was very friendly but professional and seemed very knowledgeable. The whole process took about a half hour which is faster than similar checks with other providers. Not sure if this was an indication of a less thorough job or just efficiency and that is why I gave a B for quality.

Service performed on-time and at good level of quality. Didn't like that they covered each piece of equipment that they touched with large Toptec stickers (including covering service dates shown on stickers from other companies). That is not professional in my opinion.

The job went great, technician arrived on time, and worked the full 2 hours plus a bit more. He had to remove some very old fashioned outlets that were brittle, no problems. New outlets and plates look great, really dress up the room. Would definitely use this company again!

Service was prompt and courteous. Clean up was good. We had three service visits because something wasn't installed correctly on the first and a switch malfunctioned after the second. Overall good service with very fast response to make sure the humidifier worked.

Conducted a full inspection and analysis of my two central AC units. Gentleman was courteous and professional. The price was fantastic and I would definitely use again in the future for inspection and repair when needed.

Went fine, although the technician made comments like "how long have you notice your air conditioning not working" when I hadn't noticed it at all ... the rooms were cooled but the system had to run longer to achieve it. So comments like that were annoying, but the work was done properly.

Everything went as planned. Jim was the tech. who did the work. He cleaned and inspected/tested both. One needed some refrigerant which he added. Everything was fine.

On time arrival. Covered shoes before entering the house. Was very pleasant and showed me what he did, explaining the benefits and the need for the service. He was very polite and didn't push other services on me, however, did offer me a discount on another recommended service. Overall, he did a great job and I will definitely schedule any future ac/heating/duct maintenance or repair service with Toptec. They are definitely "TOPS" with me!

Before he started work, I asked the Provider "Dan" how much it would cost to rod the kitchen sink drain. He replied, "Depends on how long it takes... " I replied, "Of course." Provider continued, "there's an $85.00 service charge, and if it takes 30 minutes, it'll be $50.00 on top of that." Provider then asked if he should go ahead. I gave the go-ahead based strictly on that offer. The work took 30-minutes, but after Provider left, I noticed the invoice claimed an hour of work, and I was charged $100.00 for the labor. Within a few minutes of discovering the mistake, I contacted Top Tec and asked for a credit of $50.00 and an additional credit of $13.50 representing the 10% discount offered to Angie's List members. I was told "We will take care of you" and that I would get a call back. After several hours, I never did get my call returned. So I called again and was transferred to the Dispatcher, and was told that Top Tec charges a $150.00 flat-fee for rodding drains, and that they already gave me a $50.00 discount on that. They also said the provider denied offering me a rate for the work. I replied, "He most certainly did give me a rate. Frankly, I thought the $85.00 service charge was exorbitant." He replied with an offer of a 20% discount (double the Angie's List discount), but said that's all they would do. I informed them that is not what I was expecting. And was again told I would get another call back after he spoke to the owner. And again, I didn't. The next day, I called back hoping to rely on Top Tec's "100% Satisfaction Guarantee", and asked to be transferred to the Dispatcher. I told her (a different dispatcher) that I was seeking a $63.50 credit to my credit card for an overcharge on labor. She repeated their policy of a $150.00 flat rate for rodding, and that the provider denied offering me a $50.00/30-minutes rate. She transferred me to the voice mail of their General Manager, John Norris. I explained my situation again, and requested a credit of $63.50. I asked him to call me back. For the third time, I received no call back. I used to negotiate contracts for a living. I am very familiar with contract law, and I know precisely what I had agreed to. If I had actually been given a quote of a $150.00 flat-rate on top of an $85.00 service fee, I would have rejected their offer, and rodded the damned drain myself. I am very disappointed that I was ignored and given false promises, in that they did not return any of my calls, or honor either the rate quoted me, their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, or their "We Are Committed To Our Customers" statement. Rather than an honest mistake, I am starting to think the labor overcharge may have been a bait-and-switch deal. It's a shame, because they are located locally, and I was hoping to use Top Tec as my one-stop-shop for all my HVAC, plumbing and electrical work. They may have a good rating on Angie's List, but you're only as good as you treat your last customer. Be very wary of Top Tec.

Toptec had an offer of 2 hours of electrical work for $99.00. Over the course of three days I spoke with them numerous times working out the details of my job. they knew we wanted the 2 for 99 deal and asked me if I had purchased yet and when I said no, they told me to do so. when I went to purchase, I couldn't find the 2 for 99 so I purchased the only thing I could find 1 hour for $49 and purchased two of them. I then called them back to set the date and now they wouldn't let me use the two together. we had talked several times a day for 2-3 days in prep of my job and we had discussed if they could complete the job in two hours. I had been dealing with this really nice woman and was really shocked when now she wouldn't let me use the two one hour jobs together. I believe it was the owner who I finally spoke with, explained all of the back and forth over the last few days and the expiration of the 2 for 99 and how I had to purchase 2 at 49 and he got really nasty about it. and refused to let me use them together. Angie was able to help me cancel the deal and get my refund. I ended up using Active Electric and they were wonderful. Beware of Toptec. they have a big name and big attitude to go with it. Bigger isn't always better

They were excellent. They were punctual, and professional. I have used them for more than one project (my AC and plumbing).

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. We went above and beyond the price of the Big Deal because there was an extra hour of service. The guy needed parts and so he had to go get them and he didn't really make it clear to my husband that he was going to charge us for the time it took him there and back. He just ended spending more time instead of doing that because he went to the wrong store. It was 2 hours of service that he ended up doing so it was an annoyance but he ended doing it right. It was fine, it was good, everything was nice. He fixed the problem. He didn't even have to come back another day because it was more trouble than what originally it was going to be but he was very upfront about what needed to be fixed. Whatever he had to do from the damage to the water, he made it work. He did a good job but there was nothing special.

The technician was very competent. He was very courteous. He was able to get finished right under two hours, even though I had a whole list of things for him to do. I highly recommend them and was very pleased with the work.

The technician was very friendly. He didn’t try to upsell – he did exactly as the deal stated. He checked the A/C, cleaned it and provided good feedback on things to help prolong it as well as what to look for when replacing it in the future.

The installation was performed by a qualified knowledgable technician. He explained how the humidifier functioned, how I should set and use it. The part installed looked like it was part of the furnace once he completed. I have used this company before and will use them again.
