Toptec is a mixed bag. Their bid to install laundry hookups and a bathroom fan in my basement rooms was the most reasonable, and they got the job done fine, though their spackling needed to be redone. However, they also came back for a "free" sewer line inspection (which sounded good to me since I had just bought an old house). The plumber hid the camera from me and tried to scare me into scheduling an immediate $8000 dig to "repair" the sewer line, which would have demolished my driveway, and the price would not have included driveway repair. I said "can't it just be rodded or jetted?" and the plumber continued with the scare tactic. It seemed a little suspicious, so I had another plumber come out, they inspected and showed me the camera view. It was a few roots causing slow draining. Rodding it out and inspection cost $200. I watched the camera the whole time, and the other plumber thought there was nothing wrong with the pipe all the way out to the main. I can't recommend a company that is not honest all the time.

Dre Latiolais came out the very next morning and fixed the problem. He was a pleasure to work with and took the time to show me what was wrong and fixed things very quickly. The prices I think are fair and we've always been able to get prompt service.

Excellent! Their electricians spent 2 hours checking all possible reason for power loss to the oven.. Found everything OK except oven computer needed a reboot. This restored the oven to normal function.

Joey came within 1 hour of my calling and evaluated the situation. He reattached one pipe and attached a new pipe that broke. He was thorough. He tested to ensure no leaks then departed.

I agreed with their assessment and ordered a new Bradford White 75 gallon water heater. This is a power vent type heater with PVC exhaust vented to the outside. Two plumbers (and a part-time helper for moving the old and new heavy tanks) installed it the next day and did an excellent job. The plumbing is all "plumb" and properly done.

Gary came out the same day and gave us the estimate. Tracy came out the next day and completed the job. Both guys were knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. The Toptec electrical department is top notch and we look forward to working with them again if needed.

They were friendly until I called back and said I have a coupon. The appointment was made for the next day 10-12. I was called and told technician was running late and when he's done he's on his way. Well he never cam and at 230 I called and the guy said oh his current job has him running late. He told me 2x's he was on his way but I finally was fed up and sai8d never mind. I paid 42.00 and for nothing hopefully will be refunded.

Wonderful. They were able to ***** what was wrong with fan and make a quick repair.

Dre gave me tips for energy savings, as well as maximizing efficiency in the second level of the home which had been a concern of ours. Dre did not attempt to up sell jobs, but did let me know that based on the age of our furnace, it may be getting near the end of its life so we wouldn't be surprised with a big bill down the road. We purchased a new home a few months ago, and a lot of things needed to be replaced. On the top of the list for us was the furnace and A/C. We called probably 6-7 different companies to come out and give us estimates, but we were never really thrilled with any of those companies, especially after reading reviews. Skip forward a few weeks, and a check valve on our sump pump went out, so water sprayed all over the closet where the sump pump was kept, on a Saturday. Steve made it out in probably 45 minutes or so, if that, and did a fix. The pump itself was old, and the battery backup was not functional, so I decided to have the whole thing replaced. A few days later, the job was done. I was impressed by Steve, and saw that they did HVAC work, so I decided to have them do an estimate on a new A/C and Furnace. Later the same day, the owner of the company came out and gave us an estimate. There was no pressure whatsoever to make a purchase, the conversation was just matter of fact about what we needed and what we didn't need. We live in a town that technically requires permits to do work like this, but every provider up until TopTec said that we could get away without doing the permits, so why pay the money. TopTec encouraged us to do the permits so we'd have a third party review their work to ensure it was done right for our own peace of mind. This really told me that not only they were confident in their work, but also that what was going to be done would be up to code. I had been toying with getting a new hot water heater based on how old ours was, so we decided to have them do that too. The workers were thoughtful and explained everything in detail. They don't subcontract. If you are looking for the absolute cheapest provider, these guys probably aren't for you. But, if you want the job done right, thoroughly, and with high end products, this guys are the route you want to go. It's so hard to find providers you can trust, but I really feel like they earn the high review scores they got if you do your research. I'll definitely have more work for them in the future.

Went very well, rep was very informative and friendly. He showed me how to examine my dryer and how often my type of dryer should be cleaned. Was told a time range when to expect arrival. If there was any change or delay they gave me a call to make sure I was informed. They were an hour late from arrival time but they did a great job keeping me in the loop.

Perfectly. They were prompt, professional, and there was no issue. All good news to me.

Plumber told me it was going to be $250 to replace two boiler valves (yes, we would do both at the same time). I asked the tech - so maybe $30 for parts (that's at least 2x retail) - so you're charging $220 an hour for labor? He said it was a flat rate for the repair, but couldn't get a hold of the office to request any price discount. He spoke with me, then left without charging a service fee. Said if we decided to do the work, we could call them back and they would charge $250. We aren't paying $250!

Turns out we needed a "Gray Box". More expensive than we would have hoped for. But, it was what it was. They were prompt, courteous and clean.

On time, professional, quickly did the work. Very pleased.

Went great. Advised renter that air filters need changed monthly. Renter say A/C working much better now.

We blew a fuse and he charged over $200 to put in a new fuse.

There will be another day of thunderstorm warning, so I needed the emergency service to replace the sump pump, otherwise the water will eventually flow from the crawl space to the basement within a day. I made the list from Angie's list and called around to find available plumbing service technician. Toptec's response was the best. Toptec had the technician, Jeremy, contacting me in an hour after I asked for the service request. Then, he came to my door immediately. It really gave me a great peace of mind, because most of the companies were pretty much booked for the day, and I was really worried. Jeremy investigated the crawl space and the sump pump. He confirmed that the sump pump was not draining water at all. After Jeremy spoke with his office personal, he suggested to replace the sump pump for $620. Also, he brought up an additional charge of $580 in order to drain the water out from the crawl space so that he could install the sump pump safely without getting electric shock. There was about 1 foot of water in the crawl space, so it would be too dangerous for him to replace the sump pump as it was. After I discussed the project scope with my significant other, I decided to receive the service from Toptec even if it was little pricey. I usually receive multiple quotes for the project, but I didn't really have time because I received another flooding alert message via my phone. Before the project started, I asked about the Angie's list 10% discount. Be aware that this 10% discount is NOT applied toward the total labor of the project. It ONLY applies to the $75 of the service charge for the technician coming out to the work site. This is exactly what is written on the Angie's list, but other competitor's discounts are usually the % discount for the total labor service of the project. So you may be mislead if you overlook and just assume that it will be the same type of discount for Toptec. So I received little bit of discount for Angie's list member and I was going to get charged for $1,147 including tax and labor. I also asked for warranty and paper works before we started the project. So that I sign up for exact price and warranty that I was just informed. Jeremy said everything will be written in the invoice through email after the project is done. So I agreed in verbal and asked him to start the project. Jeremy put tarp across the basement so that he didn't leave any marks on my carpet. He brought a small water pump to start draining water out from the crawl space to the drainage in my laundry room which is located right next to the crawl space entrance. He had to relocate the water pump several times to continue draining the water from the crawl space. I helped him a little during this process by just unplugging and plugging the pump whenever he asked me to do so while he was inside the crawl space. It seemed everything was going smoothly. While the pump was draining the water out, Jeremy was waiting in his truck while I was in the basement and monitoring the pump. If I heard the pump stop or unusual noise, I let Jeremy know and we kind of worked together again to reset the pump. We did this process for about 2 hours (most of time just waiting for the pump draining water). I didn't mind helping him at all because I really appreciated that he came out during the emergency. After the water level went down by about 3-4 inch, Jeremy investigated the crawl space again to determine if he can start working to replace the sump pump safely. I asked him about the left of water in the crawl space. There was still another good 7-8 inch water left and I asked him if he was going to drain those water out as well. He said no. He said he was going to drain the water only upto the level that he could safely reach the sump pump and replace it without getting electric shock. He also said all the remaining water would eventually go into the pit within 1-2 days after rain stops. Before the project, I thought he would completely drain all the water out for $580 service charge. But I agree that it was going to be a good chance to test out to see if the new sump pump would drain all the remaining water into the pit well. So even if there were still lots of water, I didn't ask to drain another 7 inch of water out. Jeremy brought the new sump pump (PHCC Pro Series ST1033-NS) and started to replace the old one. While he was working on it, I was on my computer and tried to rent a blower to dry out the crawl space after this project is finished. I realized it was not inexpensive to do another project to dry out the crawl space especially when there were still 7-8 inch left over water. So I was regretting that I just said okay to Jeremy to stop draining the water and let him to start replacing the sump pump. After Jeremy completed installing the new sump pump and came out of the crawl space, I checked the noise level again and it was almost unnoticeable. Also, I was looking at the water level inside the crawl space, but the water was not going down at all. I asked Jeremy for the explanation, and he said the water is not moving at all because it is still raining now and there are still lots water remained everywhere - inside pit, pipe, and etc. He said it would take good 1-2 days to drain all the water out. So, I asked him if he could drain the remaining water out using the water pump instead of waiting for the new sump pump to drain all water out. He said no because the new sump pump will eventually drain them. I said I completely understand that point, but I paid additional $580 for the water drain service. I told him that I thought $580 service includes draining all water out from the crawl space. He said no and repeated that it only required for him to drain the water until the level he could perform the replacement service as he mentioned during the MIDDLE of the project, NOT BEFORE the project. Then, I asked him why he didn't explain this exact work scope prior to the project and got me confused. He didn't answer. He said that he was going to collect $1,147 today. I told him that I was not asking for the bargain. I told him that I was pointing out his due diligence for explaining the exact work scope prior to the project which he failed to do so. I told him that this is exactly why I asked for the paper work prior to the project, so that there will be no surprise during the project regarding the price, warranty, and work scope. He didn't disagree by saying anything. He just pulled out his iPad and started asking for my email and credit card information. I could sense that he just wanted to stop having this argument. But he didn't forget to inform me that Toptec would come back if the new sump pump is not draining water. I gave him my credit card and did paper work using on his iPad. While I was doing this, I was clearly signaling with my gesture that I was not happy because I misunderstood the job scope. But, he didn't say any word for an even small apology. I gave him the paper towel so that he could clean the laundry room and his wet cloths. He wrapped up his tarp and left home after total of 4 hours. If Toptec provided the paper work showing the full work scope PRIOR to the project, it could have been a nice service overall. I will still need to see how the new sump pump is working and continue watching the left over water.

Work was done same day, but very expensive. I was told the price once he got there and by that time I was stuck as I needed the job done that day.

It was a packaged deal for that and for the furnace in the winter and the total was $190.

They said that the metal tubing at the back of dryer was bent and broken so they replaced that. They actually were pretty prompt and seem tot know what they were doing. They were done pretty quickly and left. I do think they were a pretty expensive.

Toptec diagnosed the problem quickly and made the repair at a reasonable price.
