TOPTEC installed an Eternal tankless water heater in our home on 08/27/2012. The installation and functionality of the unit are fine. However, on 11/01/2013 I received a letter from the manufacture stating that the water pressure switch (WPS) needed to be replaced. The cost of which would be covered by the manufacture and the warranty of the unit would be extended. I contacted TOPTEC who stated that they were unaware of the required repair and asked I provide them with a copy of the letter. We went in circles but finally got the repair completed on 12/02/2013. The following is the reason for this review. Since the replacement of the WPS would extend the warranty, I wanted a copy of the work order showing the work done and the date of service. The person doing the repair did not have this paperwork. I have called the office 5 times and spoken with Mary Ann, Tanna and Dave. Dave was the last employee I spoke with on 03/03/2014. He looked up the work in the computer and saw the file and insured me he would make a copy and mail it off. Nothing. Three different employees were unable or unwilling to mail me this copy. I have given them plenty of time and was going to let this go until yesterday. I received a call from the manufacture stating the importance of having this repair done and that they have no record that this was completed on my unit. I don't have a record either! So I must assume that TOPTEC did not inform the manufacture that they did the work. (An employee was here, I can only hope that he actually performed the repair.) We have been a customer of TOPTEC for other services as well. We have spent over $15,000. with this company. I expected much more from them.

Provider called 20 minutes after the scheduled appointment for a service quotation to say they'd be late. REALLY? First impressions are important and my time is valuable. These guys left me with a BAD impression and wasted my time.

I had an in home estimate from Toptec and the owner (Joe) stopped by my house to do the estimate. He was very detail oriented with the description of the work that they would do, including redoing alot of duct work around the furnace so that airflow and the seals would be better, improving efficiency. Toptec offered many services that other quotes I got did not, including elevating the box under the furnace off the floor so that the sheetmetal would not contact the cement, preventing corrosion in the long run. Joe was completely honest with me in not overselling an AC that my ductwork could not support. He showed me the Rheem consumer reports data and also described how Toptec had it's own tracking data for repairs, which is the ultimate reason Toptec switched exclusively changed to a Rheem exclusive dealer a few years ago. This is what someone wants to know before they make a huge investment ($ and hopefully it lasts 20 years); that they won't have costly repairs in the near future. also offered a year of their free maintenance checks for both the furnace and AC. It was really a pleasure talking with him about options, but ultimately I chose a different dealer that provided slightly upgraded equipment for a similar price. All around though I will surely use Toptec in the future because of the professionalism demonstrated by Joe and the belief that they do quality work. One thing that was a bit offputting was only the 1 year warranty on labor.

When I called the company to complain, they basically told me "where to go". When I said I will give them a bad review on Anges list, they response was "we don't care".

It went fine, the technician was personable and professional. He was very clean as well. The house was under renovation, but he was still careful to not track in dirt or be disruptive to our household.

Everything turned out well. Scheduling was easy, they came out the day after I called, and they accurately diagnosed the heater's problems.

Update to my previous review. The electrician who installed the 20 amp outlet in my garage used a Siemens circuit breaker when there are all GE circuit breakers in my circuit breaker box. I found out yesterday that this is a "no no". So I have to downgrade my review to say that this was NOT a expertly done job.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went down just fine.

One of our electrical circuits would lose power intermittently. The technician diagnosed the problem quickly. He replaced two circuitbreakers. Everything was done in less than a half hour. Also the Angie coupon helped out with the cost.

We called Toptec after finding out we had a gas leak. They promptly told me they'd come within an hour. Dan, the plumber come out to take a look at things. Dan determined that one of the pipes with a leak would have to be replaced and to fix it we'd need a tinner to remove some duct work in the way. Dan was very frank about the potential cost of this project and kept me informed the entire time as to what they were doing. I was able to talk to Joe the owner who explained the pricing per hour to me. Jim came to work on the removal of the duct work for day 1 of the project. Day 2 consisted of Dan and Jim trying to locate more leaking gas pipes, testing every potential area around the gas pipes and valves. Both were very thorough and persistent in trying to identify more leaks since they kept testing positive for gas even after the first and second leaks were repaired. Finally it took Jim getting down on his hands and knees to hear that the final gas leak was coming from a valve on the water heater. A total of 3 gas leaks were repaired. I loved how Dan and Jim kept me in communication the entire process and they persisted in making sure each gas leak was repaired properly and promptly. They ended up working technical overtime hours but in the end I was not charged for the overtime. They cleaned up everything after they were done and made sure that all the gas company orders were followed so we wouldn't have any delay in getting our gas turned on. Trying to find the source for a gas leak is time-consuming and tedious so I appreciate that Dan and Jim worked efficiently and I never felt they were trying to milk the clock. I appreciated the quality of their work and their conscientiousness.

I was able to schedule the work we needed to fix up our house after we recently moved. I was able to schedule this visit within days of my request. Dan and a service technician came out on time and were very helpful in evaluation and explanation of the necessary work/updates that were required. They were extremely professional and the people at Toptec went the extra mile to be sure I was very happy with the service they provided. I found they were very honest / upfront about the work and did an outstanding job standing behind their service commitments. I especially appreciate the work Dan did to make sure the work was done right and answering all of my questions. It was a very good experience at a high standard, as it is stressful making all of the necessary home improvement work. Thanks again Toptec!

Did a great job explaining the process and I ended up replacing a more than ten year old pump.

Arrived on time and was very respectful. Gave me a quote that was higher that I expected, but told him to do the work anyway since I was afraid I would break the pipe if I did it myself. I already had the fixture apart, except for the valve, and I had purchased the valve from a plumbing supply store. He had the valve replaced and the fixture put back together in less than 20 minutes. And, he charged me only about $25.00!!! Definitely would use again.

Paul, the Top Tec Plumber, was prompt arriving at the time he said he would; he quickly diagnosed the problem and ordered the part for me. He gave me a fair estimate including parts and labor. Paul searched for the diverter in brass and the style that matches my faucet. He found a Kohler product and kept the price of the job the same even though the part cost more to order than what he originally quoted me because it was a special order. When the part arrived a week later Paul was efficient and careful in installing the new diverter. Now I am able to switch from the shower head to the tub faucet easily. It actually works better than the one that originally came with the tub.

They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it properly

It was an excellent experience in all respects. Early on, the gentleman correctly diagnosed that the problem was related to the quality of light bulb being used, but he was very thorough and took his time to ensure it wasn't related to anything else. Furthermore, he arrived on time and was friendly as well as professional. He did such a good job, in fact, that I called the company to get his name so that I could ask for him directly if we ever need additional work.

Overall, they did a really good job. I thought the price was a little on the high side compared to some of the other coupons that were going on at that time for the same service but they were closer so I chose them.

tech was punctual and very polite. service was performed as expected. My only comment was that he made a note on the furnace regarding the filter size (16 X 20 X 1); however, the correct size is 14 x 20 x 1. I will be calling them for the 'Spring' tune up of my central AC unit.

I was generally happy with the service. They were professional, friendly,on time, and did a good job. My only problem was they subcontracted the electrical work and midway they had to change to a new provider, it created a disconnect in the work.

Called TopTec to arrange the service call. They answered right away and scheduled the appointment around my schedule which was great. Technician arrived slightly later than agreed upon window but wasn't an inconvenience. Very fast to diagnose issue, gave me options with cost estimates and pluses and minuses to both options. Finished the job very quickly and without issue or cost changes. I'm very pleased with TopTec and will use them if needed in the future.

We've used him for several projects. We're very happy with him. He comes quickly. We'll continue to use him in the future.

I appreciated the attentiveness of the electrician to any issues he noticed in our house - even outside the particular event which led us to call TopTec. He provided an excellent description of the issues so we understood our choices clearly. Good work. Pleasant service. On time.

They were recommended by some neighbors and lived up to the recommendation. While I am generally pretty handy around the house and know the basics, they were very polite, explained what they were doing and I felt they earned their money.

The guy they sent out was right on time, professional, informative and the price was very reasonable. Would use again and recommend to friends.
