Everything checked out - that was the good news. However, based on the coupon purchased, i was expecting a more detailed check and "televising" inside of pipes for checking. I guess that was not required, since everything checked out, but i thought that would have been a neat level of additional check for the home owner. At the end felt i was gimicked into buying this deal a little bit. Probably my fault.

We would absolutely hire Toptec again. They were easy to contact and set up time with for our appointment. The man that came to our house, (Dr.)Dre, showed up promptly and was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He took the time to literally explain every piece of our furnace, humidifier, and air conditioner (we're new homeowners) and answer any questions we had for him. He examined everything quite thoroughly and gave recommendations for any parts that needed replacing. You can tell that he is passionate and knowledgable about what he does. He even took the time to power wash down our air conditioner and remove a lovely dead mouse that was stuck in there. I will definitely be requesting Dre to come back for anything we have done! Thank you!

It went great and he found a penny completely hidden in garbage disposal which was triggering shut off. Would use again. Great work.

It turned out that the air conditioner was quite old and not worth repairing, but it didn't stop them from trying to see what was wrong and charging us for that. The next company I called looked up the model/serial number and was able to tell right away. Toptec was quite rude when I asked them about it. They offered finally to deduct our cost from the price if we bought a new air conditioner from them. But who would want to deal with someone so rude, and furthermore their estimate was high!

Top-Tec was very responsive, and was able to complete the work with-in 48 hours. The plumber came inspected the work and completed the inspection. The next day he came back with all the correct equipment and parts and was able to get the Job done quickly.

He started the disposal and heard the noise and smelled something electrical burning . He said your disposal motor is burned up. He said he could replace it for $449. but when he removed the disposal it said 9 year warranty on it. I went and got the warranty book and realized I had 3 more years on the disposal, so I called Sears and they said hook it back up and they will replace it. So he hooked it back up to the sink. Because he was here over 1 hour 15 minutes he told me I owe him $ 30.00 additional.. Angie's list did not state a time limit, or extra fees . It was for a garbage disposal tune up. Because the motor was burned up no tune up was performed. If I knew this company came from Libertyville , Ill I would have selected a company closer to me.

This was the second time in two weeks we had TopTec out. Our ejector pump went out two weeks before this visit. It was an incredible experience on both counts. Fast, efficient and excellent work. They explained everything in detail to me. I will use them in the future.

Professional and courteous staff. Punctual. The issues I have pertain to two projects. The first was the installation of a high end Thermador induction range top. The technician dropped the range top when installing is, breaking a large portion of the glass surface. It took over two months to get the replacement cover. After that, the technician returned three times to try to attach the top to the range, and it has never again been fully functional. It is difficult to power on and power off (which creates some fear and uncertainty, if, say, we cannot power it off), and we don't have the ability to use mid-range power. Subsequent attempts to have this repaired or replaced have been futile, as the technician no longer returns our calls or text messages. The second project was the repair of leaking pipes under the kitchen sink. The plumber (Johnny) criticized the craftsmanship of the existing pipework, and said he had to rebuild the whole thing. He did this, for about $550. Alas, the leaks were not fixed. Had he simply run the faucet, dishwasher and garbage disposal--as any responsible plumber would have--he would have discovered two additional leaks. Instead, he assumed that after finding one leak he was done, and obviously he never tested for other potential leaks as the concept of multiple leaks must have been beyond his grasp--DESPITE having been told that the source of the leaks was related to a brutal dishwasher installation that had jarred all the plumbing. I called Dynamic Plumbing to finish the job. They were excellent and I will use DYNAMIC PLUMBING for all my future plumbing needs. Finally, I did not hire them for the installation of a whole house generator--part of a package of work I was farming out--as their bid came in well above others. I asked them for the model number of the generator and only received it a month after repeatedly requesting it. I then discovered that the unit they wanted to install for $14k retailed at Cosco for under $6k. When asked about why they were charging $8k for an installation (plus margins) they came down to $12k then to $10k. I went with MIKUS ELECTRIC, that installed the same generator and the cold weather package for $8,300.

I purchased a furnace inspection coupon from Angie's List. Toptec was able to book an inspection within 2 days. Adam the technician showed up right on time. He was very professional and courteous. The furnace was 10 years old and functioning well. Adam completed the inspection and stated that the furnace was in good condition. Adam did point out a few parts that showed some electrical wear. He said they did not have to be replaced at this time. I was a great experience and I would certainly use TopTec again.

The service turned out okay. They were very nice, they came quickly.

I was so pleased with the company's honesty and professionalism. When the plumber had a problem with installation he sought out help instead of fumbling around and potentially leaving me a bigger problem. He was thorough in his explanations of what he was doing, gave me suggestions on products which were of great quality and value, and cleaned everything up upon completion of the job. TopTec's price was about 1/3 of one of their competitors, and they have moved to the top of my plumbing list.

The person arrived on time and did the work as expected. He was pleasant and capable.

It worked out great. It took them 20 minutes. There were no issues. The service was great but the scheduling was a little bit an issue.

We have used TopTec for plumbing many years and have been very pleased. This was the first time we used them for electrical work. They were very responsive when we first called but it took multiple follow-up inquiries on my part to receive the written estimate which is why I gave the lower rating. The electrician who did the work was professional and courteous and all of the work appears to be working as designed. I do plan to use them again in the future if the need arises.

We had a fire in our outside electric meter and Joe (the owner at Toptec) answered my call, quickly providing me with ComEd's number to come turn off our power. I got a couple estimates for the job to fix our wiring issues, including one from John G, the master electrician at Toptec. I was happy with his easy-to-understand solution and fair quote. Adding to the fact that Joe had really helped me out in a moment of need, it was great to be able to use them for this job. John was a super friendly guy, easy to work with, and really knew what he was doing. I felt confident that he was doing the job correctly. The entire job spanned two weeks with John coming out 4-5 days during that stretch. He had a couple of emergency projects come up that took him away from working on our job straight through. This was probably the only thing I would caution against if you're considering having Toptec work on a bigger job for you. Unlike other electricians I've used in the past, John made an effort to clean up after himself and put tarps down to protect our carpet. The one thing that impressed me most was the work he did above and beyond what was required by the contract. We had to move our breaker box into our hallway closet, so he had to cut into the wall. After the job was finished, he made sure to spackle the wall, install new drywall, and cut our shelves to fit back into the closet. This saved me a ton of time and made me really happy with the finished job. I will definitely be using Toptec again in the future!

Abosolutely no follow-up after the installation. Had problems with one of the AC units two months later. One part was replaced, but still think the leak exists. No follow up after that issue either. Recently smelled gas by the water heater - scheduled an appointment for today. They gave me a window of 11:00-12:00. At 12:00, I called to check the status. The repair person was "running late" and they said he would be there within the hour. Still no show as of 1:00pm, so I left. Wasted two hours of my time, and I still have a gas leak. Joe the owner is a very smooth salesperson, but was not there at all to coordinate the work, and NO follow-up to make sure it was done properly. He was only there to make the sale and at the end to pickup the check. The technicians were generally very friendly and professional. Anthony(Tony) was great, but unfortunately he wasn't able to complete the job. The two technicians who finished it weren't as good. I paid $700 to have a vent cut UNDER the sink, but they cut it into the floor instead - Joe was standing there as they cut the floor, but it was too late. The system was also supposed to be balanced as part of the price - the two techs did take lots of measurements, but left immediately after without doing any actual "balancing". My #1 goal with the project was to make the Master Bedroom and other bedrooms very cool in the summer - it's not. I still have to use a floor fan, and the only way that the temperature is acceptable is to close-off the master bedroom completely, which then makes the other rooms warmer. Joe and TopTec were recommended to me by a co-worker, but I would not recommend them to others based on my experiences. However, given that I paid $27K and am not satisfied, I do expect them to follow-up on the unsatisfactory items and complete them to my satisfaction - starting with the gas leak that they didn't resolve as scheduled for today.
