+ -1 moreTerrible. Called to inquire about installing new zoning on my HVAC system at residence. Was told that it would take 2 weeks to have an expert come over and take a look. I scheduled it for two weeks out, on a Monday morning at 9AM. Received a call on Friday afternoon before my Monday appointment from the technician requesting for a reschedule later in the day so that he could attend to another job. I just had no flexibility in my schedule. When I told him that I couldn't reschedule, he proceeded to tell me that parts and equipment orders were several weeks out. I told him that I was no longer interested - I think he was elated that I cancelled. The only reason that I gave them a D instead of an F is that he called instead of not showing up at all.

+ -1 moreThe first call was urgent but I was not their client and the second call, of course, was after regular office hours. The technicians were very nice, took their time and were very knowledgeable about the systems. The office comped me the cost of the first call because the second call was just a few days later. I appreciated their patience, their knowledge and their promptness.
Description of Work: First visit: furnace had stopped working. Technician came and reset everything and it worked fine. We could not replicate the problem. Second visit: Furnace had stopped working again. Technician replaced a couple of gas valve parts and the blower motor-problem was fixed.

+ -1 moreMy furnace stopped working yesterday (Friday). Called Thornton Saturday morning. Service was scheduled for between 2:00 and 4:00 that day. Was notified that it would be around 1:30. OK by me. Came on time, diagnosed the problem and had the repair part in hand. Couldn't ask for a better outcome.

+ -1 moreThey are fantastic. I have never had any problems with them. They are very good. I just had last year for a checkup. My heater wouldn't come on and so they came out. There was a switch that a decorator that I had out had turned off. They turned it back on an checked it out and did a cleanup while they were out.

+ -1 moreWe are satisfied. The last time they were here it was fine. I was pretty impressed. Some years ago awe had work that we were not happy with and they came back and fixed it. I would use them again and wouldn’t call anybody else. They care. When we called with no heat they came out here really quick to fix it.

+ -1 moreWhen they installed the vent it was the kind that did not have a chimney and they ran a pipe out the side. The first time they did it under brick and there was condensation which would have ruined the brick and mortar. They came back and lowered it. I still have a good amount of condensation and it was noisy. When I changed companies the new company said that Thornton could have run it through the roof like a normal chimney. That was never offered by Thornton. I also didn’t like the way they raised the furnace using cinder block. After the furnace was installed they were doing the maintenance for a while and I found the price to be quite high.

+ -1 moreThe do good work. They have generally been reliable, timely and pretty flexible. Their costs are reasonable, though they could be a little bit better though. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Description of Work: We have been using since the mid nineties. They service our heating and AC unites twice a year, in the spring for the AC and in the fall for the heating system. They replaced our furnace and AC in ’98. They have come out a few times for emergencies, but if you maintain your system you are less likely to need an emergency. They have also done some air duct cleaning but they haven’t done that for a while.

+ 0 moreThey were very professional and did a great job installing the new system and taking out the old one. The sheet metal installation work around the duct housing was really well done as were all other elements of the installation. The only issue we had was that there was a delay on getting one piece of the humidifier installed for various reasons.
Description of Work: We asked them to check out our old furnace, air cleaner, humidifier, and AC systems to discuss possible upgrades to more efficient systems and the causes of some problems we were having in the house. They did a very thorough job assessing our home's size, air flow issues and heating and cooling needs. They came back with recommendations for a new Trane HVAC system that was 95% efficient. Although it was a much bigger purchase than we had planned, we were sufficiently impressed with what the Trane system offered and Thornton's expertise and qualifications that we decided to go for a whole new system. They explained the advantages (and pros and cons of alternatives) of each piece of the new system very well to help us make our decision. We ended up getting a new Trane high efficiency furnace, new AC system, new whole house Trane steam humidifier and high tech air cleaner, new tankless hot water heater system which replaced our 2 old hot water heater tanks, and replaced some bad old heating ductwork in the basement.

He gave us options on fixing or replacing our furnace. He did not pressure me in to buying a new furnace. He was very polite, honest and friendly and cleaned up after the work was done. He had a 28 point checklist for cleaning and checking our furnace. I was very pleased with their service and will use them forever.
Description of Work: Nick replaced the broken and cracked collector box on our furnace. He cleaned and checked the furnace. He flushed the trap and checked the drain.
