My kitchen light would go on sometimes, sometimes not. One electrician told me it was the bulb, but I don't think it was. I've been trying to get an electrician to show up for two years! For a while, I simply left my kitchen light on 24/7. After contacting two other electricians on Angie's List and not having them respond, I thought I would try one more time (and if that didn't work, I'd ask for my $35 back!) and contacted Rein Electric. I was given an early window (7am-8am). Paul was there at 7:00 am, looked at the problem, looked for a new switch in his truck, to no avail. This was an unusual switch that included a fan switch that acted like a dimmer. He got it ordered, and when it came in, I was again given a 7am-8am window. At 7:20 he called and said he'd be "late" and told me with the heavy snow he would try to be there by 7:45. He was, exactly! He replaced the switch in a few moments and was on his way. Paul is very friendly and very professional. I am very satisfied and hopeful that this will "fix" my kitchen light problem.

2 men came out to remove an old ceiling fan which would no longer change speed. They cleanly removed the fan and installed a new one I had purchased. Now we have a beautiful new fan which works on all 3 speeds. They left the work area spotless and did the work in good time. I would definitely hire the, again. Very pleasant people!

My experience with Rein Electric was excellent. Chris and Derek installed the panel surge protectors (per my Angie's coupons) and then examined other items for which I requested an estimate. Due to the extensive list of possible work, Anthony Rein then came out to do a thorough inspection in order to fully understand my needs, and provided me with a detailed, written estimate the next day. We identified the priority items and started work the next day. Anthony assigned Chris and Derek to return, which I appreciated because of their previous knowledge of my home, high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The work was performed over several days, and was scheduled and executed in accordance with my availability without any miscommunication or timing thanks to the diligent effort of Rochelle. Chris and Derek were repeatedly met with unforeseen obstacles behind the walls of my house, but solved each issue with determination and professional integrity. As the scope of the work increased due to these issues, Anthony worked with me to ensure we were both confident in the value and cost-effectiveness of the additional effort. In the end, a great deal of work was completed successfully without any sign of the demolition that had taken place. In its place is a safer, brighter home environment. I look forward to working with Rein Electric again in the future.

We had one of the electrical curcuits quit functioning in our home. I checked the obvious and relalized that the scope of the problem was beyond my limited expertise. Rein elecric was very good in scheduling a time that was convenient for us. The technician arrived a few minuters early and immediately began to diagnose the problem. He verified the circuit breaker was not flipped. He replaced the circuit but it did not resovle the problem. He checked all the connections on the circuit as well as adjacent circuit and tighted connections, replaced a faulty wall switch and wall outlet. After 2+ hours he was able to get the circuit working.

The electrician was extremely helpful and went out of his way to provide quality service.

Mixed experience. Began poorly, ended very well. Began on 12/11 when we called Rein to get an estimate on replacing our bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. They scheduled an appointment for 12/14. So far so good. But instead of an estimate, we were charged $145 for a service call that took ten minutes, essentially removing the bathroom ceiling fan motor. We were told we would receive a price quote after he returned to the shop. We didn't hear back so I called several days later and found out it was $175 -- it would take 7-10 days to get the part in. Didn't hear from them so I called and they said the part hadn't been delivered. It turned out there was a mixup in communication and the part was on the shelf of their vendor. An appointment was made for 12/27 and the person didn't show up. -- turned out he was in a vehicle accident. An appointment was made for the next day but the second person was running late, suggesting the following Monday. We had waited this long, so what's a few more days? Earlier, I had called the owner, Anthony Rein, who was very apologetic about the mixup and the time this job was taking. I took the opportunity to tell him that I didn't think the service call charge was fair, since I thought I was getting an estimate. It would have made more sense to apply the cost to the installation since I was having the work done -- I wasn't just looking for a free diagnosis. He agreed that the company policy was a bit confusing and stated that he was going to review it. It's not everyday that the owner of a company listens to his customers with regard to how they do business! Very commendable! And he agreed to reduce the charge for the part/installation to $115. Wow! Ultimately, the employee who came out, Paul, did a great job installing the motor and went up into the attic to insure that it was vented properly. It took about an hour. All's well that ends well? In this instance, yes -- which is why we'll call on Rein again the next time we have electrical work that needs to be done. We were really impressed with the effort they took to make things right.

About one year ago, we had an urgent electrical problem and, using Angie's List, called Rein Electric. Despite the fact it was a Saturday, regardless that we were first-time customers, owner Anthony Rein came out himself and solved our problems. Having had such a good experience, when we suffered new electrical problems, we again contacted Rein. Specifically, the breaker controlling the electricity flow to our master bedroom and two bathrooms tripped. When we reset the breaker, it would trip again after only a few seconds. We called Rein and Paul came right out. After spending about an hour, he not only determined that the problem was caused by a short in the wiring (which would need to be replaced) but also warned that the issue presented a significant fire hazard. Given the situation, Rein re-worked their schedule and had Paul and an apprentice out to us the next morning. After a bit more than three hours, they were able to remove the old wiring and install new wiring. Both Paul & Kevin could not have been more diligent in their efforts, nor could they have been more thorough, courteous and informative. In addition to the wiring work, they found that condensation had been building in our attic, causing moisture to accumulate and enter the pipe holding wiring. Paul and Kevin dried out the attic, caulked around the pipe and called our attention to the problem, recommending we have a venting fan installed. They also thoroughly explained the work they had done and showed us the wiring they had removed, noting the places the insulation on the wiring had melted and/or charred. Too often our experience with the service industry (whether sales clerks, waiters, auto mechanics or contractors) is less than positive. Our dealings with Rein Electric, on the other hand, are completely positive. From the owner, to the electricians, and the office personnel, everyone is courteous, professional, and highly competent. While no one is happy to spend significant dollars on an unexpected repair, working with Rein at least allows you to come away feeling that the work was competently done by courteous, diligent professionals and worth the expenditure.

Paul, Kevin and Derek arrived on time to do the work. They were nothing short of awesome. There was no drywall damage to repair in any of the rooms. They did all the wiring from the attic. They stayed late to finish the job (four ceiling fans with light kits are not easy to install) and cleaned up the site. I am still in awe of what a great job they did. If you need electrical work, Rein Electric is the best.

We took advantage of an Angie's List coupon and had a whole-house surge protector installed on our electrical box. The appointment was easy to make, the technician showed up on time and the work was completed quickly. Everything about today's service was clearly explained and we will be using them again to fix a problem that was discovered in the inspection.

Anthony was prompt in returning my call and in coming out to quote the job. He was great to work with. The crew came out as scheduled to perform the work. They were courteous, professional, competent and hard-working. These guys are skilled at what they do. Honest crew trying to provide a valuable service and earn a well-deserved buck in the process. I will definitely use Rein for future work and recommend them for others. If all contractors were like these guys, there would be no need for Angie's List.

Everything went great and we haven't had any problems with the electrical system since.

Electrician was on time and courteous. He fixed the problem, but problem re-occurred and when called to return he did so and fixed it permanently on second try even tho he said on the first try that the fixture needed to be replaced. So far, 2 months later, no problems. Reasonably satisfied with this experience.

They did an excellent job. They are great to work with. Very professional and thorough. We have used them for several different jobs and have been very impressed with their work.

When they first came out they discovered that my circuit breaker panel was full and I needed to expand it to accommodate the surge protector.They ordered the part ($50) and came back two weeks later and did the installation. They were very professional and arrived on time for both appointments. We'd certainly hire them again.

Anthony was extremly responsive and helpful from the beginning. After receiving the quote and deciding to move forward with the project, the communication from Rein was great. Although this was not the lowest quote we received, there was a definate difference in the level of detail and expertise when we met with Anthony. During both days of work, Kelley and Kevin did an amazing job! They were professional, worked diligently and made sure everything was perfectly cleaned up before leaving. We will be using Rein electric for all our projects in the future. We feel very confident in the work that was completed.

Overall great experience. Sent an email inquiry and Anthony promptly answered. I wanted an estimate to have a chandelier installed in my dining room - and he gave me a very accurate estimate. I thought it was pricey, but also wanted someone who was reliable and would do a good job and I trust the other reviews on Angie's List. To be fair, I didn't comparison shop, so maybe that's the going rate... Anyway, we schedule the appointment and everything went smoothly. They gave me a 2 hour window and they called when they were 30 minutes away... Chris arrived to do the install. He was very friendly, professional, and did great work. My only "complaint' is that I qualified for the Angie's List discount and I forgot about it when I was making payment... it would have been nice if they had automatically applied the discount like most places do. When I mentioned it later in an email to Anthony, he said he's apply the discount the next time I need work done. I would definitely hire again next time I need electrical work done.

There are no don'ts. These are good dependable people.

I purchased the Angie's List deal for a ceiling fan installation. The appointment was very easy to make. They showed up on time, took down the old ceiling fan, replaced it with a new one I had purchased, and explained the work that was done. The installed was super nice and was done in about 30 minutes. I would recommend them for work in the future, and would definitely call on them again.

Kelly the technician was outstanding as was Anthony who I spoke with over the phone. Rein and Com Ed arrived at the same time. Kelly suggested having Com Ed check out the issue first; that way if it was a Com Ed issue we wouldn't spend money on the electrician too. Kelly waited while Com Ed figured out it was their issue and then when we asked what we owed he said nothing. Rein's honesty really made them stand out to us. They were punctual and were able to work us in when many electricians were unable to. In the future, we will call Rein for our electrical needs no matter what. The fact that they were so honest and sincere in the first place gives us all the confidence in the world with them going forward. Thanks, so much!

From start to finish it was quite a pleasure dealing with Rein. From Rochelle setting up the appointments to the quote to Paul providing the work, everything was easy and accurate. I've worked in trades before, and the craftsmanship was top notch. On time for the quote, the repairs, and the follow up repairs (attic fan out of order and out of stock). Also gets points for answering all my random questions. Would absolutely hire them again.

Great experience, after an initial mixup with the appointment, Rein gave me a discount for the inconvenience. They turned up on time and installed the outlet and restored the outdoor power on a very timely and professional basis. I have several other electrical projects this year that I will be calling Rein first.
