I was in a pinch in the middle of a landscaping project and some rot issues were discovered with the cedar siding and sub-walling (Tyvek, particle board) that was behind stoops (steps) that were being replaced. I reached out to several carpenters in the area and Mike was essentially the only one that responded and did so in a timely fashion. Mike was able to squeeze our job in on short notice during a very busy schedule and knew exactly how to handle the job, explaining the best way to approach the job while also meeting my requests for the work (e.g., timing, specific materials, etc.). Mike was efficient in conducting the labor, which required two visits from him due to the nature of the other job (stoop removal and replacement). Mike sent pictures of the progress of the work and was completely transparent about the details of the job. I am really pleased with the quality of the workmanship and I will not hesitate to call on George Krinninger & Sons again if necessary in the future.

Mike and RJ rebuilt a side porch on my historic home. This included steps, pouring footings, replacing rotten wood and doing all this while maintaining the structural integrity of the original roof over this little porch. Mike was upfront with me about best and worst case scenarios and built exactly the porch I wanted. It looks like it’s always been there (which can be hard with an older home!). His communication with me was excellent, he’s very quick to return phone calls and emails or text messages and as always, he’s reliable and punctual. We have hired this company for a number of jobs and will continue to do so because the work is always excellent and mike stands behind everything he builds and fixes.

Mike and his associate were punctual and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. The door operated well from the start, with only a need for minor adjustment of the closing mechanism by us after they were done. Later that night, the door would not open because the side molding had bent and was catching on the bottom plate. I sent an e-mail to Mike at 10:00 pm, and he responded before 7:00 am the next morning. He was at my house by 8:00 am and fixed the problem. He was expedient in identifying the issue and came up with a repair that cost nothing and restored full operation of the door!

Mike and RJ were on time and were able to finish the job quickly. One area that had rotted wood was not as extensive as we thought it might be. Therefore Mike reduced the cost of the work. All of the work looks good and everything is ready for painting next spring. They did a great job.

All 7 windows look great and will provide energy savings. They're just what we wanted. Mike was less than half of the price of a reputable local window company.

Excellent. Mike and his team did exactly what they said they would do and made suggestions to improve the quality of the repairs. Mike is a second generation carpenter. The quality of the work reflected that experience. They were easy to communicate with and punctual with arrival and departure. We were kept informed of progress as well as unanticipated concerns. The work went well. They showed up when they said they would, went about their work quickly and completed the work faster than originally estimated. I have nothing but good things to say about Mike and the screen repair work he did here yesterday. Because of the tricky way our windows and screens are installed, the job turned out much more complex than expected. Mike proceeded with expertise, thoroughness, and patience to complete (with excellent results) the work that could be done and took extra time to explain my options for what remained. Mike did a great job replacing two screens for me. One was too large to fit in my car so it was great to have a home option. I appreciate his service.

I always face the task of hiring contractors with apprehension. Of course, getting good-quality work at an appropriate cost is foremost in my mind, but I also wonder, will I be comfortable having them in my home? Will they be respectful of my concerns and my questions? When they use terms like “cap flashing,” “MDF,” or “shoe molding,” will they react to my blank look with compassion or with condescension? I had no such worries with Mike. He answered my questions thoroughly and responded promptly with an estimate for the work I requested on my screened-in porch. He and his associate arrived on time on the scheduled date and set to work replacing four large screens and a torn door screen. The stairway to the ground had been built with only the top railings, so Mike added spindles that not only give the porch a finished look, but also will prevent small visitors from falling off the stairs on their way to the backyard. I am very happy with the results, and now having met Mike and hired him for a job, I am not surprised that he has received glowing reviews on Angie’s List! I will be recommending him to friends and neighbors looking for an honest, friendly, and professional carpenter.

Today Mike and his assistant completely replaced our screen porch screens. The work is excellent and we are very, very pleased with the results. I was extremely pleased with the results. The work was done quickly, and carefully.

Mike came out and inspected the damage, then proposed a solution and gave me an estimate. We selected a date to have the work done and he and his partner finished the job in a very short time. They jacked up the sagging joists and inserted braces on top of the concrete foundation to support them. In addition, they removed two courses of cedar siding on the exterior to make sure there was no hidden damage. When none was found, the siding was replaced with new materials. Mike was very knowledeable and a pleasure to work with. I'd definitely recommend him and would use his services again.

Mike (and his assistant RJ) produced a wonderful finished project. The tile work, the cabinet installation, the finish carpentry, etc. all came together very well. Mike is all about getting the job done on time, at the best cost possible, and is extremely responsive and fair. I have recommended him to friends and they have also been pleased. When situations did arise during the project, many caused by other trades, Mike is ready with alternatives relating to the timeline, a different way to approach the problem, or just to be supportive and exude confidence that "we'll take care of it". Mike was great! He was very quick to respond and worked with us on pricing once the original quote was over our price range. We picked a date to complete the work that was very timely and also left little to no damage which was a nice surprise! (we originally had agreed on a lesser price point with an understanding that we might have to paint or have some drywall work to do). VERY pleasantly surprised and I will definitely use him again!
