I waited over 2 months for Rory to paint my house. I could have had a number of other painters that were available much sooner. However, I chose Rory as I believed he would do the things he said. He did NOT patch anything as we discussed. He swears he put a second coat on but it is so obvious that he did not. He moved all my HEAVY furniture without using the pads he promised to use. He totally scatched up my hardwood floors. When I showed him what he had done, he said that I have bad floors. Really? You move a 300 lb China cabinet and expected them not to have gouges? He also rolled big gobs of paint with a roller and didn't finish rolling it in so it dried like that it two places! I am so mad because I am a senior citizen on social security and feel like he scammed me. Yes, he seems so nice. If you hire him be prepared to babysit!

Rory was awesome throughout the process. We did get one quote that was slightly (<10%) lower but Rory clearly knew his business and was able to handle more complex work necessary for our job, so we selected him from our estimates. Rory was able to call in everything needed, which was helpful when a few more carpentry issues than originally expected cropped up. We had some wood deterioration exposed by a spring storm after Rory's initial estimate, which necessitated rebuilding to some extent a cupola on our peaked roof. This was clearly beyond the work he had originally estimated, and he was up front about the situation, discussed the additional work and costs, and we adjusted the bill accordingly. In our view he charged much less for this than we would have expected given the work involved. He also saved our shutters from replacement after discussing with us the pros and cons, saving us significant expense. Rory and his crew were polite, professional, and performed the work exactly as promised. They did a good job on prep. The paintwork was all clean edges including several non-standard windows. Rory uses Ben Moore Aura as standard and the paint looked great. They were respectful of Lake Forest operating hours and of the need to maintain a tidy worksite. Cleanup was excellent. We could not recommend Rory and Always Painting more highly.

They came on time everyday for about eight days early in the morning and then they don't ask for payment until after they're done with the job. They cleaned up well. They were within average price range. I had about 4 estimates. I was very satisfied.
