Dan came and gave us an estimate the same day I called. I had called several other roofers in the Bloomington area and they never returned my call. He was very detailed about the issues and fixed the roof within a few days. We will certainly go with Chutes & Ladders roofing again in the future should we need to!

I had a few other roofing companies repair a leak on the back of my house and they were unsuccessful it just kept leaking a friend recommended chutes and ladders. When i called the owner was a very nice guy he came out and explained in detail what was wrong and what the other roofers had done wrong and he repaired it. And since then i have had no leaks. I would recommend them to anyone.

Last Sunday my guttering came away from the house because it was very windy outdoors. I called two companies to come out and give me an estimate on reattaching the gutter but they never showed up. In the meantime my gutter was keeping me awake at night because it was hitting the house from the high wind. As I was driving home, I saw this roofing crew working on this house so I stopped by and asked to speak to someone. This worker got off the ladder and I told him about my gutter was loose from the house. He took my name, number and address down and said he would try to get by my house that day; if not then he would get by the next day for sure. When l asked Dan for an estimate, he said maybe $35. He stopped by my home to take a look at the work and ended up fixing the guttering while I was at work. He left a message on my voicemail on what he did and explained what caused the problem. I forgot to mention to Dan about the down spout came off during the high winds and I put that piece in my garage to prevent it from blowing away. When I got home to look at the work was done, I realized that I forgot to leave the down spout for him to attach it to the gutter. I called Dan back to explain what I did and he came back over and attached it as well. I found out while asking Dan questions that he is the owner. He took time out of his schedule to come to my home twice and attach the guttering for FREE. He was friendly, knowledgeable and demonstrated great customer service even if he would've charged me. I definitely appreciate what he did for me and I would recommend Chutes & Ladders Roofing Co to anyone. Thanks Dan !

Ahhh, Chutes and Ladders roofing. Where to start? I began looking to get the roof of my house and detached garage replaced in September of 2009. After interviewing 3 contractors, I went with Chutes and Ladders since they offered a GAF warranty but still cost less than Home Depot. They also, at the time were rated a B+ or A by the Better Business Bureau (they are now rated F and have been expelled from the group). We signed a contract in late September with 1/2 of the contract paid up front with work to begin in early October. Well, they never showed up on the agreed upon date. Their response? They had some other jobs to finish up and they would get to it within a week. I heard that line about five weeks in a row. They finally performed the roof tear-off the day after Thanksgiving and then let it sit for five days, uncovered. It rained a few times so the attic and garage got all wet and were very dirty with the scraps of the tear off. They did clean the yard but the attic and interior of the garage were never cleaned up. Yep, nails and all in the garage. Needless to say I've had over ten nails in my car's tires since. Over a year later, I was still finding nails in the yard and occasionally in the driveway as well. So back to the roof. They put the new roof on in over two days, in early December and got it finished a day before the first snow storm of the year. I have to say that the roof looks pretty good and I have had no problems with leakage. After they were all done, the owner said that he had gone over budget and I would just need to pay $1800 more than we agreed upon. What?? I asked why he hadn't talked to me about him going over budget and he said that they underestimated the amount of shingles they would need. I told him I thought that he was being unprofessional and then he gave me a sob story about how his guys needed to be paid. I held firm to the price we agreed upon in advance and told him I would consider his request if he sent me an itemized statement and receipts of all of the expenses. Needless to say, I never received either. So, over a year later I'm still pleased with the work he did but I question the validity of the warranty I was promised and as I said I still occasionally find nails in my tires and in the yard. He also left the gutters full of the tear-off debris. I've been meaning to write this review for a while but I was finally driven to do it today because I received a letter from City's Code Enforcement Department. He never obtained a building permit so it looks like I'm gonna get stuck with another bill. In summary, stay away from Chutes and Ladders (if they're even still in business) and I apologize to those of you who have been burned by Chutes and Ladders since the start of 2010 for not posting this sooner.

Chutes and Ladders Roofing never received a phone call from this gentleman conveying his disappointment. We work hard to keep all our customers happy, and without a phone call from an unhappy customer, we cannot do that. We did show up late to this job, however, only a few days. We notified the customer that we were running behind on a previous job and not to worry, we would be there. We are roofers, and are at the mercy of the weather. This sometimes means postponing a start date. We have never left a roof exposed at the end of any day since we opened our doors in 2007. After a roof is torn off, it is immediately "dried in" with felt paper or similar underlayment. There were NO leaks. This customer was a college student, and was very hard to get ahold of during the work day. We could not get into garage to clean up the mess. We do however, use a 36 inch sweeper magnet to remove nails from the ground, and rarely ever leave one behind. All warranties received by our customers are infact valid. This customer has a manufaturers warranty through GAF that he can verify with them via the internet at www.gaf.com. The prices of the material went up from the distributor. The customer received an estimate that was good for 30 days. I told him the price had gone up and he thought he shouldn't have to cover the difference. There was infact a permit obtained for this job, hence the letter he received stating his taxes had gone up. I invite anyone who has an issue with Chutes and Ladders Roofing to contact me (Dan) directly at (309)827-ROOF so that we may remedy any future issues and keep our customers happy. Thank you.

They seemed to be very professional. They stated they used more nails than other companies. We cannot judge the quality of the roof as we did have some old leak damage on our ceiling. We do have one spot which does look like it may be darker stained than previously. At first we didnt notice any problems with the gutters, now the gutters are making alot of noise when it rains. When I looked at the gutters water is pouring down onto our deck extremely hard in a 6-8 ft strip. I have tried many times to get in contact with the company and I have been unable to reach them. The phone numbers appear to be disconnected, and I cannot find any additional contact info.
Description of Work: The re-roofed the entire roof and farmed out the guttering.

Chutes and Ladders Roofing can be reached at (309) 827-ROOF. I would be surprised if your roof is leaking. If there is a leak, just call me and I will take care of it. As for the gutters, they were no charge and do not come with a Chutes and Ladders warranty. If you call us, we can put you in touch with the gutter company. They are a reputable business and would be more than willing to make this right I'm sure. Thank you.

The owner arrived late in the day and cut down the tree as requested. The yard was left a little messy but I could live with that. However, it was growing late and the stump was still there. The provider told me he would be back the next day to finish the job. Then he asked me to pay him right then since I might not be home when he returned. Foolishly, I agreed. I really know better than that. About a month and several calls later he returned and worked on the stump for a while but seemed to have some problem with his chain saw. He didn't come to the door to tell me what was happening. That was the last I've seen of him. The stump is still there. I finally got him on the phone a couple weeks ago and he promised to be out the next day. Of course, he hasn't shown up. Now he doesn't answer or return my calls. If I ever have another tree that needs to come down, I will definitely not use this service. What work he did, he did well. I would have given him an good rating if he had just finished the job. What makes me more disappointed is that it would probably take him only 10 minutes to complete the job. But, of course, I left him no incentive to return. I swear to never again pay a provider before the service is complete!

It was terrible. The owner of the company talked a good game however, he was never on-time and didn't show up several times when he or I arranged to meet. The roof was torn off and replaced in 2 days, which I thought was impressive, however I have at least 2 leaks that have gone unattended even after I contacted the business. New material was not replaced either- including drip edge so the roof looked good, except for the old, worn color of the the drip edge and there was a couple of spots in the corner where old drip edge was bent up and my roof was noticeably lifted in those areas. The siding was completed in 2 days as well. Old wood on my house was taken off, thrown in the trash and placed back on my house the next day, including 2 spots where the wood is broken off, which gives the front of my home a disgusting look. Ripped siding was placed in my house, edges are not cut even and/or straight. The siding was on one side of my house was installed completely in the wrong direction. Meaning, the sheet edge is facing the front of the house. For appearance sake the edge should be facing the back of the house, where it is less noticeable. there is damage to my soffits in 3 places due to siding instillation. New gutters were installed incorrectly. a lot of water drips between the soffit and gutter, rather than the drip edge catching it and leading the water into the gutter. Down spouts are crooked in 2 places and one is not attached correctly. Another down spout was placed in an area where the water is lead right to the glass doors of my walk out basement. Although I was told by an employee that he came over and caulked, I checked and didn't find caulk anyplace that I knew it was suppose to go. They left their trash everywhere, even a pop can in my gutter. These are not all of my complaints but you get a good idea for the reason for my dissatisfaction. I have contacted the owner on different occasions to get the repairs and damages fixed and I have had an unprofessional response most times. He blamed his siding crew for the siding issues, believing it was not his (the owner of the co) problem. I have been reasonable with the clearly inexperienced owner of the company and made several attempts to let him work fix these and other problems with the job he and his company was contracted to complete, however every attempt failed.

Chutes and Ladders Roofing does not do Siding. We do not bid siding and we do not install it. This customer paid us to do her roof, and hired another young man to install the siding. I believe the roof to be in excellent shape. I have asked angieslist to remove this incorrect listing, and they refuse. As always, I invite any of my customers to contact me(Dan) at (309)827-ROOF with any questions or concerns they have about our work. We are in business to make customers happy, and will do everything in our power to do that. Thank you.
