Description of Work: I did not realize, when I signed up for the service, that the company only provided repairs of wall cracks, not floor cracks. The people at the company were courteous. We had arranged August 14 for foundation repair. The serviceman showed up one half hour late. But then, after inspecting my basement, he said he the company did not provide the service I need. He apologized and the company sent me the check that Angie's list had sent to them. I told this to a representative from Angie's List whom I spoke to on the telephone.

Description of Work: Had used Basement Flood Protectors in 2010 to install a replacement sump pump and a new battery back-up sump pump system in a prior house. System worked well and was extremely quiet. System withstood the torrential rains we had in the Northwest suburbs during the summer of 2011. Moved into a new home recently. Battery back-up alarm went off on a day when we did not have any rain. Appeared that the main sump pump was no longer working. Called Basement Flood Protectors that day and spoke with John. He set an tentative appointment for the following day. Steve, the service tech, was actually able to come out than evening around 7:00pm. Steve, the same tech that installed our previous system in 2010 at another location, did not think the main pump was bad and did not think it needed to be replaced at this time. He did drill an airlock hole in the pipe for the main pump as he felt that might be the issue and adjusted the back-up switch and water tested the pumps. Everything worked fine. He did say to keep an eye on it and if we noticed the main pump not activating or the back-up running when you would not expect it, then it might be time to replace the main pump. When the main pump and battery back-up need to be replaced, I will use Basement Flood Protectors.

Description of Work: We had purchased a home that had a previous mold condition. We had Allpro come out and do the mold remediation, and decided we should replace/repair the existing sump system to prevent future damage. Tom came out and assessed our situation thoroughly and gave me a recommendation and estimate to re-dig the sump pit and install a new basin, replace the sump pump, install a backup pump, and adjust the drainage system so that it was not running along our foundation. Tom systematically inspected the entire basement, the existing sump system, and the exterior of the house to identify existing problems as well as things to look out for in the future. A couple of weeks later Steve arrived to install the new system. They were professional, efficient, and left the area better than they found it. Another week after that a different Steve came out to install the backup system. He was also professional, and efficient. He also explained the new system to me in detail and answered my question

Description of Work: They fixed some cracks and leaks which I had in my basement.

Description of Work: Set up appt to check sump pumps (2) and ejector pumps (2) due to the very heavy rains rec'd recently. We were protected by our current system but wanted to make sure they were running properly. It was a good thing that we had them checked because the batterey on the back up pump needed to replaced. The only reason I did not rate them excellent was because of how quikcly the system check took. The reveiw and test was so quick. It apprears all is well. We are glad we had the four systems checked.

Description of Work: REPLACED A BURNED OUT SUMP PUMP WITH A NEW PUMP WITH BATTERY BACKUP.
