They showed up on time and repaired a back up sump pump that they installed many years ago. Work man was very polite and did a great job. He left the site cleaner than it was when he arrived.

Everything went well. They are busy so I did have to wait about 2 months for them to start, but it is finally in. I noticed an instant difference in the soil around the one side of my house. I did not have pooling water, but the area was very misquito infested and always damp. Now it is much drier, the water is being redirected. I have used them 3 times now and I know that they stand behind their work. As an update, I did not initially mean to check no on the "hire again" question. My cursor must have slipped while I was clicking, I would definitely hire them again.

Everything went smoothly. The workers were very neat. They cleaned up everything and explained what was done. I am very happy with the equipment and the work that was done. The technicians were courteous, very knowledgeable, and worked hard.

My sump pump battery alarm went off over the weekend. I called John at 1 PM and received a call back from him at 1:30. He sent one of his technicians in 45 minutes. The technician inspected the main and backup pumps, identified the problem with the battery and replaced it quickly. I was impressed with the professionalism and promptness of John and his team. I will use them again as they did not try to oversell any of their services and addressed what was wrong.

I sent a message through Angies List and they responded right away. They had someone come out and assess the crack. Along the way, we identified 3 other cracks. They gave me some great advice on holding off on repairing the crack, which was under an overhead sewer line in my basement until I had the sewer line checked out. Sure enough, I needed a repair, from another provider, to be performed on the sewer line and had I sealed the crack first, it would have complicated the process. Overall, I was very happy with the management of the firm and especially the technical that came to my house on 4 different occasions. I really liked that they kept me with the same guy so I didn't have to bring a new guy up to speed with each visit. I will absolutely use them again, but frankly I hope I never have to.

John Sloss came to the house for an initial survey and recommendations. Once we decided to use their services, John put us on his schedule (3 months out, following massive flooding in the area). Thgis gave us time to prepare the basement for the work crew to do their tasks. The crew was professional and went steadily about their business. John also provided recommendations for a clean-up company and duct cleaners. Both were excellent.

It went well. Gave us a 10% discount for being Angie's List members.

I think it was $120 just for the service call, that seems quite steep. These guys really know their sumps and back up systems and these systems are so important that the cost is not the most important thing to me.

I had a full sump pump installed in my basement which involved drilling around the perimeter of the inside. There were a few issues that occurred during the job but everything was taken care of and I am very happy with the work. The first problem was the estimator forgot to tell us to clean out the basement completely. He only told me about unhooking the dryer. The workers were shocked that I had everything set up because until the moment they came we were using our basement as regular living space. They made a few phone calls, I told them I would have to reschedule. But then they actually cleaned the basement out for me for a little extra (which for me was a relief because I could never have actually done it with all the kids and everything else going on), I do not remember exactly how much, but with everything down there it was worth it. During construction, I had called about the drain spout that lets off into my yard. It was in a very bad place, the estimator told me over the phone that it had to stay there and there was nothing that could be done. He never did look at it. After they left I had tried calling 2 other times with questions about my basement and never received a call back. A year later I joined Angie's list and they came up in a search I was doing and I decided to rate them. I received a phone call within 12 hours. They agreed that the drain could be moved, apologized for the estimator. They came out and gave me a quote on the length and then a pretty big discount. Then when they actually came to do the work, they took a second look and made the extension twice the size because it would provide maximum drainage and did not charge me any extra for this. I am very happy with where it is now, my children have no idea it is there and my yard is safer (and more dry). As for not returning my calls, they said they had had a phone failure around the time I had called and had lost a lot of business because it took them weeks to figure out it was happening. I do believe them because I have actually had this happen to me twice with the phone company and the packages they provide to businesses.

Installer arrived on time and had the system installed quickly. The installation is professional looking and so far everything seems to be working perfectly. Its hard to actually rate the product since I wont know if it works until the power goes out and water starts rising but if the indicator lights are accurate and I have no reason to think they wouldn't be, the system is ready to go.

It works great. We love it. The reason for the "B" overall rating relates to the cost quotes and the leave-behind "literature". I initially was going to purchase an Angie's List Deal for $399 but there was some confusion in the deal's wording, so I called Basement Flood Protector directly. The person I spoke to -- I believe it was Dan --explained I didn't need the sump pump in the deal, it was overkill for my needs. He quoted a sump pump for $325, total. Sounded like a great deal, glad I called. The day before the installation, I had a couple of questions and spoke with John, who told me that the total cost would be over $400. Obviously I was surprised and when I told him about the original quote -- there was such a discrepancy -- he lowered it to $344. But when the bill arrived in my hand at the end of the installation, it was $375...and that's what I paid. I didn't feel deceived or cheated, but the discrepancy in price quotes didn't leave me with a very good feeling. Regarding the leave-behind "literature"...it consisted of a very poorly copied one-page, back to back. It was on the reverse side that I learned that my warranty would be invalidated if the sump pump was connected to an extension cord...which it is. The installer, Steven, didn't mention anything about this, even though he connected the sump pump to the extension cord, as there's no wall plug in the vicinity. The last sump pump lasted 17 years connected to an extension cord -- different brand, installer -- but if this sump pump needs to be serviced or replaced for any reason, and that service/replacement is denied because of how it's connected, I will be one upset customer. So, a mixed review. Hopefully, this sump list will last another 17 years and there will be no problems.

Great job! They installed a brand new primary pump, as well as their internet connected iControl backup pump. The service was classy, clean, punctual...tops. The equipment has been running like a charm, and the iControl notifications I get to my cell & email give me peace of mind. Highly recommend these guys.

After working with Dan Lux via phone and text messages on how to repair my I Control Sump Pump system, he suggested a service call was in order. Dan was very thorough on how the system would be repaired and gave me a review on what the technician will do. The service call was completed on the very next day. They won me over. The first time our gravity drain pipes were put in by this company I was horrified. Their subcontractors had not dug deep enough to put the pipes underground, so the surface drains I were promised were skipped, and as a result we had worse flooding in our basement than before. The salesman who had arranged the job, who had told us that this was the way to handle our basement flooding, came out and told me that?s just how it has to be. But then John, their Operations Manager, found out about it. He came to the house and agreed it had not been done well. He had his engineer redesign what needed to be done, and then sent a team of men to work on it for two days, all at no extra cost to me. I did not ask them to do this?after the salesman had looked over the original job I?d become resigned to expecting nothing more. They did it because they wanted to get my job done right. I can?t guarantee that Basement Flood Protectors won?t make mistakes?I can?t guarantee that about anyone. But from my experience, they will do what they must, at whatever cost to themselves, even if its three times their originally estimated labor, to protect their company?s good reputation.

They were very good. They took the time to explain everything to me. They were very prompt and left the work area clean. The price was a little high but it was an emergency situation I needed to take care of right away.
