+ -1 moreOur kitchen sink is nine inches deep, so the task of replacing the faucet system involved a difficult reach. Tom got the job done in a timely manner and cleaned up well. He lubricated an outside faucet and, when that didn't end the squeaking, turned off the main water and went further into the faucets to lubricate them. This did clear up the problem and saved us the cost of replacing them to end the nuisance.
Description of Work: Tom replaced the kitchen sink faucet system, then removed the squeaks from our outside faucets which we had lived with for years. He also advised us on what we could do to make the showerhead in our master bath more accessible for cleaning for a person of my stature.

+ 1 moreThis was our first time contacting Tom. He responded to our call shortly (it wasn't an urgent matter) and said he could come out with the hour. He was professional, quick, assessed the problem (described the issue as I looked on) and even looked at our other toilet since he wanted to give us the full hour. We had some questions about a back-up-sump pump and he answered those for us as well. I feel he's affordable, easy to get a hold of and honest with his estimates. Would definitely use again.

Tom was recommended by my broker to conduct the repairs. Tom was professional, prompt and honest. He provided guidance as to which repairs were essential and which ones were low priority and could wait until a later time. As a result of Tom's repair work, I recently hired Tom again to install a whole house filter and salt-free softener system. Again, Tom's work was top-notch, prices very reasonable and he even tolerated my cat assisting him on both jobs. I would recommend Tom to others.
Description of Work: Job 1 - Plumbing repairs (e.g. leaks) and corrections to the prior owner's home remodeling projects (e.g. venting and piping issues). Job 2 - Installing a whole house filter and salt-free softener system.

Description of Work: We had a leak in our basement ceiling and he came out right away and found exactly where the water was coming from and had it fixed and done within about 45 min. Didn't charge a trip charge just his hourly rate. Leak was fixed and gave us the broken part for the insurance. Very kind and professional guy who knew what he was doing. Didn't leave any mess behind and we will call him in the future if we need any more work done.

Our great neighbors highly recommended Tom's work. Lucky for me, he was in the neighborhood and available, and arrived within 20 minutes of talking on the phone. Tom diagnosed the problem, made some recommendations, and was able to replace the equipment very quickly and expertly. I too, highly recommend his terrific work.

Description of Work: Tom replaced a sump pump in a difficult area to work in. I called him on a Sunday because the existing pump had broken down the second time that weekend and while we had a "temporary" fix in place we were worried about more rain. When I called, Tom answered the phone himself and took time to talk with me about the situation, including the weather forecast, and we agreed that the work could be done on Monday morning. Tom was punctual the next day and was professional and efficient in getting the work done and giving me advice regarding our set up. His pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. We also discussed some other options regarding solutions for our water problems. He will be giving us a proposal and bid for that work in the future.

+ -1 moreTom Ruhl replaced our water heater in a very reasonable amount of time, at a reasonable price, was very conscience about protecting walls, floors, and hand railing when moving equipment in and out of basement. Tom is a very pleasant person, is willing to tell you what he's doing when working on a project, and answered all our questions without making us feel stupid. The employee who helped Tom the day of the installation was also very pleasant.

Description of Work: During recent storms my sump pump went out. He came after hours to help me out. He installed a new one. Due to poor weather he could not finish the job at that time but resolved my immediate problem and is coming back out. He really stayed until the work was taken care of.
