Kent is by far one of the most professional people I have dealt with. He knows his trade and would consider him an expert in this field. He installed my hot tub electric, and was very thorough in the job he did. Kent helped me overcome certain obstacles with this project and went above and beyond my expectations. His response time to any question was very quick and he always showed up the days he had me scheduled. Again I would highly recommend him.

Kent explained as he went about fixing our electrical problem and was very professional but at the same time very friendly which we appreciated...he even set up our new timer for us with the hours we needed, as my husband and I are older and did not know how to do it. Great Guy..Great Service....will use him again and recommend him to our friends
Description of Work: Kent rewired some of our outlets....we experienced a short in one of our timers and he found it and fixed the problem....

Description of Work: He worked well with my schedule, but came a bit later than stated. However, the work was well done and below the price he estimated before. We will hire him again for other projects. He changed several light switches, one to dimmer, exhaust van switch, gfci outlet and replaced a ceiling fan with a light fixture.

I have always wanted to have a dedicated game room in my house. I am talking about pinball machines and arcade games not a pool table or ping pong. The room I decided to transform into a game room did not have any lighting in the room, nor appropriate power for what I needed. The outlets in the room were the minimum allowed by code. My vision was to get some light in the room and to have new dedicated circuits run into the room with some new outlets to properly power to the games. After having several guys come in and take a look at all the things I wanted to have done I came across Ken from Brite-Lites. Instantly I knew I was going to go with him for the job. He was different on a couple of different levels. First and foremost he was extremely professional. I told him what the end goal was, but I really didn't have a plan on how to get there. I just knew I wanted some lighting in the room as well as some new dedicated circuits and outlets. Ken spent a good amount of time looking at the room, using his experience on where he thought things could be run and where there might be potential problems. As an example there was large support beam running across the room that hung lower then the ceiling to sperate the hall from the main room. Ken let me know that there could be problems there getting power to the other canned lights in the main room. Some of the other guys I had over came across as shoot-from-the-hip types who don't really plan ahead or warn me about potential issues. Ken gave me some possible solutions on how to switch all of the new circuit outlets on at the same time, a really nice to have for a game room. Ken also made some suggestions as far as the type of recessed lighting would look the best in that room. For the initial estimate walk though Ken was at my house for about an hour and half. The other guys were in and out in 10-15 minutes which might be ok for a simple job but I had a extensive list of things that I needed to get done but I didn't have a real idea of how it should be done, or if it was even possible with my layout. I received a email estimate the same night from him on the work to be performed. Ken also called me to let me know the estimate was sent. Due to budget issues I had him back a few things off the estimate and we agreed on a start date. Halfway into the project I ended up adding additional work to the project and he created a change order to keep track of the revisions. Ken showed up for the job when he said he would, he was extremely neat, and cleaned up after each day he was over. He would call me down to the work area if he thought he needed approval from me on doing something. This was really nice. I don't like it when someone just assumes it is ok to do something without asking first if it has a direct impact on the the direction of the room or extra cost to me later (cutting holes to run pipe/wire). Due to the logistics of the room there was going to need to be some drywall cuts that needed to be made, he let me know where and how many cuts were needed so there was no surprise when I went down to the room. On a side note, Ken had to run new pipe from my basement breaker box to the game room, the basement is finished with a movie theater screen and projector. There was drop ceiling down there as well. The drop ceiling was installed by the previous home owner himself and was there was not a lot of room above the drop ceiling. Ken did not break a single piece of drop ceiling even though he warned me there was a good possibility it could happen due to space issues. It's little things like that, that are huge for me. Before Ken started the job he told me how long it would take and he was right on. Everything about the job was professionally done, If I had to do it again I would go back to Ken in a heartbeat. I really felt comfortable having him in my home. His planning was what really stood out for me. The project became more involved due to the setup of the room and some foundation issues on a wall. He was able to figure out a solution at no extra cost to me.
Description of Work: Ken worked on the following items for a game room that I was building out in my house: Installed 9 new canned lights (3 for hall, 6 for game room) Installed 1 directional light fixture for stairway Installed 4 new outlets in the ceiling (my plan is to use these outlets for neon lighting) installed a 4 gang switch box to control stair lighting, hall lighting, game room lighting, and to power the ceiling outlets on and off) Installed 3 new circuits to run into the game room from the breaker box (one for each useable wall) Installed 4 new 20amp outlets for the walls where the new circuits were running Installed 3 gang switch box to control power to the 4 new outlets per my specifications Moved the location of one outlet to a different location on the wall so the new outlets being installed would have a uniform look on the wall with equal spacing. Removed hand railing that separated a upper half wall of the game room from the lower half wall of the kitchen (tri-level house), framed and installed drywall in it's place (rough, no tape or mud). I wanted to close off this room from kitchen. Installed 1 new outlet on kitchen side of new wall to be up to code if I should resell the house. total price of job included all materials needed to complete job. No hidden costs.
