+ -1 moreI ordered a shed kit from them. They brought it up to Madison from Illinois, painted it, and installed it. I had to provide the base for it which was optional. It is of very high quality both in materials and workmanship. The door has very heavy duty hinges and steel reinforcing. The walls are built with 2"x4" studs. The roof is heavy plywood with long lasting shingles. The floor is also heavy plywood with 2"x4" cross bracing under it. As good as my 1st shed has lasted, I would go with Tuff Shed if I had it to do over again. They have a web site on the internet @ www.tuffshed.com
Description of Work: The provider did virtually everything. You have some options to reduce the cost. I have some health issues so I had them do as much as I thought that I could afford. I'm glad I did that.

+ 0 moreThey delivered and installed the shed in one day. Great job, very professional. They installed shingles that we provided that match our new roof on our house, and gave us a credit for the "included" shingles. We are very happy with both the work done and the product provided. It's a little pricey compared to the competition, but the quality seems worth it - particularly for something that should last 25+ years. The surprising thing was how many options are offered to customize the shed. Our old shed did not have a loft so we weren't sure we needed one. We got it any way...What a BIG difference the loft makes in freeing up space to move around inside the shed! All the big and light stuff goes up there, not piled in your way. I'm 6' tall and have no problem walking under the loft without bending over. If we should ever need another shed I would certainly go with Tuff Shed!

+ 0 moreAs it stands I am contacting surveyors for estimates to complete a required plat survey for my property before I can get a permit. The permit charges and survey cost will add over $500 to the cost. Once I receive the permit, Tuff customer service claimed it would be a minimum of 3 weeks before I can expect them to build. I expect from these recent experiences with Tuff that more issues will arise and debate whether it is best to cancel my credit card transaction an find another contractor. I suggest you blind call the Tuff representative who services the Downers Grove stores to confirm my experience. Thank you.
Description of Work: A sales person came to my home to assist with the shed design. He offered suggestions that turned out were not available and stated that he would be responsible if any permits were required for building the shed. I am in unincorporated Downers Grove and as it turns out a permit is required for Dupage county. This sales person has since been unavailable to provide any follow up assistance. I called Tuff directly and their customer service representative and manager both claimed that they are not responsible for this services. I was clear at the beginning of the transaction that time was an important factor to me. Again the sales person claimed this work could be completed within two weeks. It is well over a month at this point and I am working thru government bureaucracy to get a plate survey for a county permit. This same sales person said he would complet the transiation for me thru Home Depot, but instead gave me the Home Depot store phone number. THis was another "F" experience. It took over 5 phone calls and at least an hour of hold time to get this purchase completed and I was never able to get a receipt for the transation. I'v e contacted Home Depot several times with no resolution.

+ 0 moreOverall it was good. The product is very good but the sales people leave a little heartburn. Initially they did not want to do much work for us and then when they realized we were serious buyers they were all over us with phone calls. We negotiated a price and delivery date but the salesman was a little vague on what was included. After we agreed to everything I was told it was up to ME to go to the village hall and get the building permit and deal with the city bureaucracy, which I did. Of course upon inspection the village required a 8" gravel base which halted the job until i had that put in. I felt if the sales people or a representative from Tuff Shed came to my house prior to installation everything would have gone smoother. Apparently that was not an option. The installers were fantastic. They were polite, fast and very respectful. Like I said, the product is great, the service is fantastic but the sales portion was a little unsettling. I would still recommend them.
Description of Work: I went directly to Tuff Shed, not Home Depot. Tuff Shed sells their low-end sheds at Home Depot and I was able to get a better shed for less money by going direct. I picked out the shed I wanted and Tuff Shed installed it for me.

+ -1 moreTuffShed has an excellent product and it's "stick-built"! Their products were much more affordable than most any comparable shed I found - even at the "Big-Box" home improvement stores. The price included on-site installation by a very professional crew. The whole experience was great - from the shopping phase, to providing direction and assistance with local permits and approvals, to a very clean and efficient installation. The quality of their product far exceeds anything else I found on the market.
