+ 0 moreSent a request for an estimate almost two weeks ago. Never heard a word from them. Ended up hiring a landscaping firm who not only contacted me but also visited the property to create a detailed estimate. I guess when you get too big, the small jobs are unimportant.

+ -1 moreThey clearly did not want my business. Attempted to contact them five different times, and only once did I get a return call. When that person didn't call back, I wrote them off. Terrible. Something about landscape companies in the northern Chicago suburbs - they are routinely afwul about returning phone calls. They must have all the business they can handle.
Description of Work: Wanted to speak with someone about coming out to look at my yard to do a landscape design. Sent in request via their website; after a few days of no response, called and left a message; called back again after no response.

+ -1 moreMore than anything, working with the man assigned to my account was very difficult. He was unresponsive and did not follow through on certain projects. Mariani is one of the most expensive landscapers on the north shore. I expect excellent service and products from them. I was very disappointed with their service. I think if you are not ready to do a big project with them they have very little interest in your needs.

Absolutely no complaints about the result - it has now been two years and the plants have held up beautifully, and it was designed to last and require little maintenance (that has been absolutely the result). We had the beds redone across the front and side of our house, and all of the beds in the backyard were redone. We limited the scope somewhat to keep the price down, and our contact did a great job helping up prioritize and cut some things, without sacrificing overall quality. We love the result and have been very happy with how it turned out. We did pay the price for it - very expensive, compared to prior work - but the quality was reflective of the price. So, if you are looking for high quality, consultative support, from experts, I would highly recommend Mariani.
Description of Work: Significant landscaping - front, side, backyards. Fairly simple, but robust. Also coordinated work on sprinkler system.

+ 3 moreThey do a nice job and they are very professional. In the summer time they do yard maintenance every week. They do the whole works including fertilizing, trimming, plantings, they do the trees. They are full service. They are terrific. They are so good that we think we get a good value. They may be a bit pricey and I'm sure we could get it done for less but we would not be satisfied. They are unbelievable good.
Description of Work: We used Mariani Landscape. They do snow-plowing and landscape, lawn care, and yard maintenance for us. They just plowed our front driveway.

+ -1 moreOne word - outstanding. Mariani is not the cheapest landscaper around, but it's one of those things where you get what you pay for. I had a fairly large area that needed new sod after clearing some trees and removing a rather large shed sitting on a concrete base (the area was approximately 10,000 square feet). I received multiple bids for the job, and although Mariani's bid came in higher than others, it was also the most comprehensive. I simply didn't get the sense from the other companies that they would do the job properly. Mariani's attention to detail and excellent communication throughout the process was outstanding. I spent more than I budgeted, but I'm so glad I did. The results are out of this world! My back yard looks like a park! If you want the job done right, I would highly recommend Mariani.
Description of Work: Cut out poor areas in existing lawn and remove gravel, weeds and debris; installation of new topsoil in areas intended for new lawn; grading and roto-till of entire area; installation of Kentucky Blue Grass sod; lay down new mulch over all perimeter areas.

Description of Work: Mariani Landscape provides ongoing landscape maintenance services as well as occasional design and installation services. The firm does extraordinary work in every regard! They have repeatedly received the highest industry awards in every category. Mariani Landscape's annual maintenance contract includes many services that are commonly add ons at other firms, requiring additional payment beyond the standard monthly fee. It speaks well of Mariani Landscape that they have done work at The Chicago Botanic Garden and that they have a history of being generous to deserving community projects. Mariani Landscape is a full service firm that provides outstanding service. Their employees are well trained professionals with excellent communication skills. I have NEVER seen a Mariani property that does not look fabulous!!

+ -1 moreWe have used them several times. The price varies by the job. They are expensive. This past experience went very well. They do a great job with customer service. They show up when they are supposed to. They do the work they are upposed to. They are very clean. They tell you what it is going to cost up front and they are usually right within that number. They will come back until you are happy but they can't guarantee all the plants. It is first class service with first class products and it costs first class dollars.

They are booked and you absolutely have to plan ahead, it s not an emergency service by any means, but it s well worth the wait.

They basically stated when they came out to give the quote that I was better off going with a smaller independent company. I appreciated their honesty with me of not being able to fit my needs as I requested instead of quoting me a high price and trying to get the job.
