The cost of the service was a lot. The gentleman was very courteous and he explained everything. He tried an option that was less expensive for me first and that didn’t work. He seemed very knowledgeable.

Scheduling the service call went very well. The office person was very pleasant and professional. I was able to get service within one day. The service person arrived on time and was also very nice and professional. The job was done quickly but not carefully enough. While there was no obvious water leak during a quick test after the unit was installed, I discovered a leak in the drain pipe after only a short time (5 min) using the sink. Upon inspection I could see the trap was not connected properly to the pipe exiting through the wall. Fortunately for me I know what I'm doing when it comes to home maintenance, so I was able to re-do the drain pipe to make it connect properly and no longer leak. I had already way overpaid for this job, but then for it not to be done right was very disappointing.

I didn't find HT Strenger on Angie's List. We have been using them for years. Our house has some funky plumbing. I mean whoever did this totally jerry rigged it. The bathtub pipe is connected to the kitchen pipes. Bathtub backs up, bathroom and kitchen sinks back up. We have to have it all rodded at least once per year.So, this time when the tub began to back up, lots of black crud was floating in the water. I tried plunging it and it just got worse - more water, more black crud. I was at work when the guy from Strenger came. On my drive home from work I was thinking that I'd have a mess to clean up once the tub was unclogged. I got home to find that not only was the tub unclogged but the tub was clean! So, they took care of the clog and cleaned the tub for us. I am so grateful. I've got an elderly mother in failing health who uses that tub so bacteria control is important to us. All I had to do was wipe down the tub with Clorox wipes and it was shining. If $175.00 seems like a lot to unclog a tub, it's not given our plumbing issues. We would never call anyone but these guys for any plumbing issues.

It was fine. It was prompt and they actually charged me less than what they said they would, which was fantastic.

It went very good. The price was a little high. I liked the people that came out, they were very nice, the quote was just higher then I was expecting.

He gave us a bid to repair a problem with our septic system. The bid came in between $6,000-7,000. They told us that the septic tank was shot and needed to be replaced along with work on the field which would be determined. We got another recommendation, called another company that has done a lot of work in our area, and were told that NOTHING was wrong with the septic tank. There was work to be done in the field, but it came to $1,500 to repair everything. Our system now works perfectly. The man from HT Sprenger either lied to us or was so ignorant about septic tanks that he had no place going near one. I would never trust this company to bid on any work!

I had this company come out and they verified everything in depth and made sure that the system was working as it should. They did a good job explaining to me how it operates. Highly recommend them.

I called them and the receptionist was very professional and got our appointment set up. They were very promt and got here the next day. They got it taken care of just fine. The worker that came out was very good.

He was very, very nice and he was very helpful. He came out right away and didn't overcharge. The price was very reasonable.

It went pretty well. They were prompt and the service person that came out was very professional. It seemed like a decent price for the work we had done.

I called and they were able to send someone out promptly. He was able to determine that it was an old battery and was able to disconnect the incessant buzzing and identified that we needed a new battery.

We had water backing up through a main drain called HT Strenger and they came out and promptly fixed our sewer problem without having to dig up our front yard saving us a lot of money, they worked promptly on the job explaining everything and allowing us to see what was going on in the pipes with the camera. We will definitely use HT again for all our plumbing needs.

Matt was the technician that came. He was great. I was coming from work in Arlington Heights and he got to my place before I did. He was kind enough to wait patiently for me until I arrived. He knew exactly what the problem was and explained everything. He answered all my questions throughly. He also showed me what to if this particular problem happens again. They are a great company and would definitely recommend/ use them again! Great price too!

We picked this company because it advertised on Angies list that it services the Mchenry County. We live in McHenry County, but they don't service our area.

We've used them in the past, but they were not that great this time. He never showed up and I had to call. We rescheduled and he was late again, so I had to call. He showed up about 5 o'clock for an appointment between 1 and 3.

The guy was professional, punctual, and responsive. They did a good job and I would use them again. I was satisfied with the quality of work this company did at my home.

Water heater went out on a Sunday (of course). The repair man attempted to repair the heater. Pilot light would not stay lit. This was the second time this had occurred with this heater (first time was another plumbing company). Water heater was 7 years old. Decided to replace rather than spend money on trying to repair. We had set up an appointment for the next day to install a new heater (Monday). After several minutes, the repairman asked me if I was going to be home for a couple of hours. He had called a fellow employee - who had the day off - because he had a water heater in his truck. The water heater was delivered & both guys replaced the heater. Both of these servicemen were professional, considerate & went above & beyond a normal repair call. The owner of the company called me the next day to see if everything was OK. How refreshing! Customer service. I will certainly use this company again & I would highly recommend them.

Jake came out to give a quote. He was very professional and the quote was reasonable. Matt came a week later to install a water softener that I had already purchased. Unfortunately, within 30 minutes, we discovered that there were parts missing (a mistake from Sears). We rebooked a date a week later. I was able to get the missing parts, and Matt did the installation as agreed, very professionally. When the bill arrived, it was for significantly more than the original quote. On calling the office, it was explained that it was for the additional labor for having to do a 2nd call. This was reasonable, but Jake got on the phone and asked me how he could delight me. I suggested that we split the cost of the additional time and he agreed. The situation went from being fair, but leaving me disgruntled, to me being very pleased with the outcome, and in particular, the way it was handled. This is great customer service in my opinion. I highly recommend them.

Overall it went very well and I am very satisfied with the service and will call them again any time I need plumbing help.

Jesse was the plumber assigned to our projects, and he was excellent. Very experienced and knew exactly what he was doing and did all the work very efficiently. Cleaned up after he finished. Installed the new pump, removed the old one, and also installed an additional brace for support that was not done with original installation years ago. Jesse suggested several main-water turn-off options. Rather than installing the most expensive option, he suggested a specific alternative that would cost significantly less and work just as effectively. When the final invoice was given to me, I perceived an error in the price quote for the pump. I understood a quote from the scheduler to to be lower and she said she quoted a higher amount. After some discussion, the situation was resolved to everyone's satisfaction. They did provide estimates before the work was performed which turned out to be accurate. But they definitely are not a discount plumber, yet their work is excellent. and they work efficiently. So I would not hesitate to call them again. In fact I asked for and received an estimate on some potential future modernization work. Work could not be completed on the first visit and another visit was scheduled for the afternoon of the following day. Although he arrived 21/2 hours later than expected due to a previous visit in the morning, Jesse did call me and advise of the delay, and did everything he could do to accommodate. Can't ask for anything more than that. Very pleased with their work.

.I live in a 110 year old house. The drain in the kitchen kept on backing up and we could figure out why it was backing up. So H T STRENGER PLUMBING CO tried raveling it up and then realized that there is still an old grease trap on the back of it which had backed up. They basically went along and found out that the sewer pipe from the grease trap had collapsed. So they re-routed the whole drain line that goes into the other sewer line. The other grease trap is basically useless and one of these days I will find some dirt and fill it up. It is old technology and that is not the way that you do it any longer. So it turned out to be a lot bigger project. That is my house it is a Pandora’s Box. It turned out to be a weeklong project. I can’t blame them for the $900 they charged me. It is perfectly reasonable for the amount of man-hours that they put in. It should never be to the top and be overflowing. Luckily it was only the sink from the kitchen not the whole sewer system. They had to hand buckets out and dredge to the bottom of it. It was lower than 6 feet. They did a very good job with this challenging experience. Every three years you need to do some majorly expensive work. I will use this company in the future.

The plumber spent an afternoon completing half the project and then rearranged his schedule to make our home a priority to finish up the next morning after a scheduling mixup with another plumber the first day. The mixup was handled to my satisfaction. The work was completed in a timely manner and the finished product represents a job well done.

They were good. They did good work. They were prompt. They didn't leave a mess behind. They cleaned up after themselves. They fixed the problem.

HT Strenger emailed me back right away when I first contacted them, gave me a price, and then went on to fix it. The original estimate was for 5 foot of pipe replacement but I also advised that I did not want a "patch job". I advised that once they started if they found they needed to repair more than 5 foot that I would like to be advised. They actually did have to repair 9 foot of pipe, so understandably the price had to go up. They arrived promptly on the scheduled day of the appointment, and left the yard and surroundings in spotless condition. If we had not had to crack the sidewalk (since the pipe ran under it) I would never had known they were there. I have had absolutely no problems or concerns since they provided the repair. They are professional, respectful, kind and above all very plumbing knowledgable on all plumbing issues. H.T. Strenger/Jake was the fourth plumber that gave me an estimate. I found that most plumbers do not really understand how line replacements on a septic system are configured.
