TURK FURNITURE CO

We purchased a set of 3 living room tables from TURK FURNITURE 2nd & Joliet St. LaSalle IL 61301 815-224-8875 in late 2008-early 2009. At the time of purchase we directly asked the salesperson about warranty info on the tables and expressed interest that we wanted to purchase an extended warranty if possible. The saleswoman told us that there wasn't any kind of additional warranty that is available. Now we are having an issue with one of the table legs--starting to separate/split at the top where the wood is glued together. It's a mfg. defect. We contacted TURK to no avail. The owner (former city of LaSalle Mayor) Art Washkowiak had no interest in helping. He said "I find it hard to believe that my best salesperson told you that" regarding the additional warranty. He told us that there was an additional warranty that could have been purchased at the time of sale. Since it technically is out of the mfg. warranty he said he wasn't going to take care of it on their behalf (even though we were lied to when we bought the tables) but he would "contact the mfg." and see if they would do anything. Well as expected he never returned our calls and we had to call TURK multiple times to get a response which turned out to be the one we expected...it's out of warranty and TURK will not replace the leg at their cost regardless of misinformation at time of sale. Now, we are 3 time repeat customer but obviously that has no impact. Providing misinformation then hiding behind mfg. warranty info is the name of the game here. Evidently taking care of your past current and future customers has no place at this store. While they may have locally comparable prices there customer service and ownership is greatly inferior and lacking true professionalism and knowledge. They have just lost a customer for life over a table leg which should have been under warranty in the first place. I guess doing the right thing isn't in their personalities!
