Lousy is an apt description. PaverCare did not bother to pull Western Springs permits, then set the drains right next to my neighbors yard - which is against code and rightfully made my neighbor angry. The work was done in May. Its now September. The owner will not returned phone calls from me or the Village of Western Springs. Permits have not been pulled and nothing has been fixed. In short, by hiring Paver Care, I'm being fined by the village, yelled at by my neighbor, ghosted by the people I paid to do the work and made to fix his mistakes myself. Yeah, I do not recommend.

The patio paver area that is between our back stairs and garage side door would pool water. As agreed in the contract that area was to be lifted and leveled out so pooling would not happen anymore. After work was completed pooling has been worse than it was before work was done. Pooling area is larger and creates a hazard for us getting in and out of garage. With recent rains then freezing we had a large dangerous ice skating pond. I have called and left messages 10 times over the past several weeks. Have spoken to office assistant, Dawn, but the owner TC has not responded to calls and/or messages. Overall project was $4,000. Other two parts of the project are fine, but we would not recommend this company.

No phone call back after I left two messages for TC. Would not recommend this company as they cannot even call you back?
Description of Work: Last summer, TC visited my home for paver repair and washing. He gave me a quote, we decided we would have the work performed this summer (2015). So in June I called the office and left a message for TC to call me for scheduling the work. No return phone call. So in July, I called again, spoke to a receptionist and mentioned that TC never called me back. Her reply, "Oh, that means you are not he schedule most likely for the work." I was a little annoyed because who schedules work without speaking to the owner? I asked her to have TC please call me. Today is August 30, still no call from TC. I will find another landscaper to do my work.

. they replaced some broken pavers, fixed the edges of my driveway and patio, did some other repairs and leveled things out. They cleaned all the pavers w/a power washer, put polymeric sand down, swept it in, blew off the excess and wet it down. then sealed (i think) they did a really nice job, we have a huge driveway and both the driveway and patio look GREAT. Jose explained a lot of things to me and the owner was very responsive. ALL the workers were neat, polite and did a good job. I would recommend them highly

This was a third project with Pavercare and once again they didn't disappoint. It happened in 2 separate work orders as once I saw what a great job they did, I wanted them to finish it all. As an attorney, I am a half-decent landscaper :D (though nothing like these guys!). I had put in paver bullets and rock myself when we moved into our home over 15 years ago. With time, they sank and no amount of grass trimming made them stand out like they once had. I had also wanted to extend paver bullets around the sidewalk they put in, but didn't have the time. Finally, I Once again, Pavercare to the rescue!!! The day work began, I was happy to see Gaspar arrive as I knew the work would be done far and beyond anything I'd get from another provider. He is very easy to work with and takes direction well. I just told him what I was looking for and he went right to it! Once again, bushes were tied up to prevent damage, weeds were removed, no extra charge... work went as well as expected. Neighbors were actually coming by after they left asking who did the work. I was glad to tell them! They accidentally damaged a couple of our sprinkler heads in the process. Gaspar was actually able to fix one of them on his own... this guy is very handy! When I let TC know about the other, he told me to have our regular sprinkler guy come out and just take it off the bill! Talk about customer service! After seeing what they did, I had to have them come out to raise what I had done and expand it. Also, I hadn't got around to getting my mulching done. We have 3/4s of an acre lot with a mulch line that follows our fence. It is usually a 3 day job for me by myself and all I am doing is hauling and spreading mulch. When I mentioned this to TC, he said they could help there as well! They really made my life quite simple. Again, our comes Gaspar and his crew again. They had the bullets raised and extended with rock added in a couple hours, for what would have taken me 2 days of work. They then started on the mulch... and again, went above the call of duty. They cut in a new mulch line to make the mulch look nicer! Took them coming back from an extra day, but the results are stunning! I couldn't have done it better myself THE AFTER STORY... I noticed that they had forgot to do my garden area (they ran out of mulch) and they didn't have enough rock to finish off my upper planter... texted TC on Saturday... on Monday morning they were out and finished everything, including weed removal again, in less than 2 hours... There is just no other way to say it... use Pavercare... they are the best!!!
Description of Work: Added new paver bullets and rock around driveway and paver sidewalk they had put in; raised existing paver bullets to make them visible again, expanding area and adding new rock; mulching a huge lot.

My first experience with Pavercare told me that we would be life long customers! We have a 1,200 square foot patio of concreate with brick insets. Prior contractors we had used didn't do any better than we had on our own using bleach and our powerwasher. The gentleman that arrived, Gaspar, was punctual, kind, and professional. Not only did he perform the service but also pulled out weeds along our patio that I hadn't had a chance to get to. Our patio never looked better... he literally made the concrete and brick look new! Not only did he do the cleaning, but also set our patio back up (we had moved our grill, table, chairs out of his way)! Talk about service above and beyond! The final touch was that he closed our gate to our backyard when he left... might not seem like much, but you'd be surprised how many contractors just leave and don't bother to close a gate... The price was literally half of what we had been charged by other so-called concrete professionals. I will definitely use Pavercare again and again!

This was our 2nd use of Pavercare and we remain a customer to this day! TC, one of the owners of Pavercare, came out and surveyed what needed to be done. He was exceptionally friendly and professional and put me at ease that they could get the job done right! Gaspar and his crew arrived on-time and set to work removing the old bricks. To my amazement, they actually bound our bushes up so they wouldn't be damaged and thinned out dead growth... as I have said in a previous review, they go far and above the norm in their service. While they were working on my new walkway, another group quickly and expertly fixed my front walkway (installed by another contractor, some bricks had sank badly after only a couple years). When they were done, the curb appeal of our home had went up... it looked fantastic! Definitely, a job well done and I will used them again for all paver-related projects. THE AFTER STORY. After a few days of the sidewalk being in place, you could see that there was a difference in the coloring our Series 3000 pavers from what we had originally and what Pavercare installed. I let TC know and he came out and confirmed. It was clearly an issue with Unilock's coloring. At no additional charge, TC actually got a guy from Unilock to come and look at it. He did some kind of acid wash that removes the haze associated with when they bake the bricks. Sure enough, color matched! Once again, customer service far beyond anything we have ever experienced with landscaping-related contractors. You should not go anywhere else other than Pavercare!

I'm glad we found TC and Paver Care, Inc. on Angie's List. Their workmanship is superb. Nice to know there is a company such as Paver Care, Inc. TC and his crew are dependable, courteous, and know what they're doing.
Description of Work: The bricks on the stoop of our patio were dangerously loose... The concrete used when originally installed was of poor quality so the job entailed breaking up the concrete and removing it as well. TC came out the day I called and gave an estimate on the job. His three man team showed up on the designated day and time and the workmanship was professional. Very satisfied with TC's staying in communication with us through out the job.

We contacted them about the estimate and had a rather lengthy conversation with TC who does all the scheduling and seemed very knowledgeable. The estimate seemed high but TC explained there were a lot of repairs that needed to be done and they had a 15% off deal going so we planned to go ahead with the job. We had two more conversations with TC and everything sounded good to us and in the last conversation he said Good, I will get you on the schedule and let's talk on Monday at which time we thought he was going to give us a specific date for when the job would be done. HE NEVER GOT BACK TO US OR CONTACTED US AGAIN and never responded to our two phone calls following up the next week. Who solicits work, spends all this time explaining the process and our particular situation and assures us of the great job they do and then just leaves you hanging with no word??? Unbelievable and extremely unprofessional. What a waste of time.

I spoke to you in regards to your project to schedule the work. At the time of our conversation I had mentioned we were scheduling out 4 weeks and I would get back to you with your start dates. I do apologize for not getting back to you when you call back and that falls on my shoulders. I had you scheduled for the work to start in Mid-June, weather permitting, which was approximately 4 weeks after you agreed to have the work scheduled. I understand your frustration and I am making every attempt to make sure it does not happen again.

They came, did the job and were friendly but at the end when they came to put the sand down over the pavers, I didn't even know when they were done with the job. They didn't come to inform me in case I needed to inspect their work. They just up and left. They left all the patio furniture out on the lawn in the grass.also left sand in the runners of my glass patio windows it has left my screen and windors hard to open and close.

Gentlemen pointed out how improper edging was originally installed (by another party). By their using the proper edging they were concerned that an approximate 2" gap would show along fence. Because of this, they were wondering if I had any original pavers leftover to cut which I did not. I told them I would rather have the 2" gap showing w/proper edging installed. They filled this in w/mulch and looks great! No concerns of sinking ever again. I appreciated their analyzing the situation w/different solutions and pointed this out to me instead of going ahead and doing whatever. I appreciated their explanations.

I called and left a message and CT called me back and set a date to come out and give me an estimate. He was prompt and very nice. We discussed all that needed to be done and even the distance the driveway needed to be redone to raise the sunken bricks where the tire tracks were in front of both garages. Our daughter parks her car in front of the garage door and was in college so wasn't home much, therefore no real sinking of the bricks in that area. Because of the rainy spring they were delayed in coming out. CT was great in letting me know when they would be out. They came out and did a beautiful job on the sidewalk. The bricks were sunken in front of the porch step because of ground squirrels. They dug down because we thought they were under the porch, only to find the foundation went down about 6 ft. So the damage was done between the foundation and under the bricks for the sidewalk. Nothing they could have done about that. I was gone most of the time they had come out. I came home that day to find the sidewalk done and it did look brand new. However; I could really not find much done to the driveway in front of the garage doors. They only came down on the one side about 5 feet and not even that on the other side. So I called CT and he was very nice and said he would have the guys come out again. They did and they did pull up and fix some more of the bricks, however; they did not complete all the bricks as we had discussed. So I called CT again and set up a time when I would be home for me to actually show the workers what needed to be reset. I was really frustrated that it took 3 times for them to come out and there were still a couple that were still too low. I was done at that point and just wanted them to finish the power washing, sand and sealing. The worker came out and spent most of the day power washing the driveway. Then two days later he came back and put sand in between the bricks and then proceeded to seal the driveway. When I got home I could see that there was a change in the color of the bricks down the driveway in the same area that I saw him applying the sealer with a sprayer. This area was the length of the driveway and about 4 ft wide. Then there was a part down the middle that looked great and made the bricks look new again. Then there was another line of bricks same dimension on the right side of the driveway that were dark just like the like the first row of bricks. Down by the apron of the driveway there was darker bricks and the rest looked pretty good. I was upset and when my husband came home we looked at it and thought maybe it needed to dry overnight. When we got up, it looked the same! I called CT and told him about this. He came out a few days later to look at it. After that, I hadn't heard from him so I called and he said he couldn't understand what had happened. It only has happened 2 or 3 times before! He said he wanted a representative from the sealer company to look at it. So a few day later, someone came out. Again I called CT and he told me they couldn't understand it either because they used the same sealer batch for the entire job. He said the sealer company would give them stripper and new sealer to apply again. So now they had to apply a stripper and power wash the sealer off. Of course it was very difficult to get all of it off, which I am not even sure if it really came off. Again the guy worked for hours and hours. A few days later he came back and re-sanded and then applied sealer again. We were unfortunately out of town during this period (the week of June 28 to July 2nd) , which I told CT while we were gone to let him know. He said that they got it to look 80% better. When we got home, again it was very patchy looking and was not at all what I or anyone else would expect it to look like. I will attach pictures for you to see. I called CT again and told him we weren't happy and he said that the worker told him that when he applied the sand that he thinks he didn't get it all off of the top of the brick and when the sand gets wet it darkens. So if there is sand on top of the brick it will discolor it. Now it is sealed and locked into the brick. It looks terrible! I was so tired of dealing with this. I was exhausted with the whole job! Now there are tire marks on the driveway at all four tires where my daughter parks. It is a big mess! I don't know if it will ever wear off but they totally ruined my driveway. My husband called CT to talk about the bill and CT said he would discount it $300.00. At the time my husband and I just accepted it. But now after the summer and pulling in and seeing the how terrible it looks I knew I had to write this review. I thought this was a professional company and they had done hundreds of driveways just like mine. Why am I one of the group of 2 or 3 that this happened to? Just my luck! I subscribed to Angie's List so this type of thing wouldn't happen to me this time! So this was very disheartening. I am really fed up and really have no recourse now because we have already paid them and the look of the driveway has only gotten worse not better.
Description of Work: They took up the bricks on my sidewalk in a large area that had sunken. They dug around my porch to put in wire so the ground squirrels wouldn't dig under there anymore. They were to pull up pavers in front of our two garage doors. The one on the left side about 15 to 20 ft. down the driveway where the tires of the car had sunken the pavers and on the right side about 10 to 15 ft. in the tire tracks as well. Then power wash all, put in new sand and seal.

The short answer is that they did a fantastic job! I had contacted at least 7 different places and none seemed even interested or bothered to offer an estimate of the job. But pretty much from the get-go, these guys were on it, they sent a guy over for an estimate right away, and even in the middle of the busy time, got it taken care of within a couple weeks. During one of the storms this summer, a tremendous pine tree that sat between the front walkway and the corner of the house blew over taking with it the walkway, the corner of the stoop, the stairs not to mention a ton of other stuff. After fixing most everything else I tried to find someone to work on the walkway. And like all the other jobs, I'm continually amazed how when I want to give a company my money, they act like they'll get to it when they get to it. Paver Care was quick, explained everything, and was patient with all my questions. They sent over 3 hard-working guys exactly at the time they said they would. In literally a half hour they had all the old stones up and were already laying the foundation for the sidewalk. The one gentleman I spoke with seemed to really know what he was talking about and answered all my questions so I let them work. I came home from my job and found an absolutely beautiful walkway, they fixed the steps and evened out the surface stones on the patio. They filled in the mortar holes and replaced uneven stones in the patio, and they put in a little retaining wall on the far side of the walkway for a little garden area. It was even designed in a nicer way than I had imagined or explained. They basically made the whole thing look better than when we moved in years ago. My wife and I couldnt be any happier. They charged a very reasonable amount. And I would call them again in a heartbeat.

I had mixed feelings from the beginning. I made my appointment, and was told TC would be doing the estimate. Instead, another associate arrived to conduct the estimate, but sometimes things change, so we went with it. We liked what Victor explained would happen in the repairs to our patio, so we hired them that day. We were supposed to receive a call at the end of the week for scheduling. The end of the week arrived, no one called. I called, left a message, and upon a return call was told that we'd be contacted in the next week, because they were more than three weeks out in scheduling. The next week went by, and no phone call. I called, again, left a message, and upon a return call was told what days we were booked for the repair, cleaning and sealing. The repair team arrived the day before it was scheduled. I was home, so it didn't really matter to me. I went out and talked to the guys, and made sure they understood what we wanted repaired. We were estimated for the entire edging of our patio, which was about 27 feet. I was told it would take an hour, which seemed strange, as the estimate indicated it would take 3-4 hours. But, I'm no paver professional, so I left them to it. I watched them begin to repair the patio, and it was clear they knew what they were doing. But, after 45 minutes, the crew left. They only repaired about three feet of the patio. And, I discussed with Victor during the estimate that we had a soil erosion issue with the patio, as it's on a slight hill, which caused the sand to vacate from under the patio, leading to the uneven pavers. He told us they'd add a new edging and some rocks to seal the area better. This crew added the same edging that was originally there, and dug up dirt from an area in my front yard where grass was struggling to grow to cover it up (I didn't put together that they took dirt from the front yard until a few days later). I called TC and left a message, and he returned my call almost immediately. He explained that the person doing the repairs that day was his best, and he'd have the team come right back to my house to do any other repairs that I felt were needed. I was happy with this. I called TC around 9, so I expected the team back shortly. Noon came and went, and they didn't show up, so my husband called and left a message. 5pm came and went, and they still hadn't shown up, and I called and left another message. No one ever called us back. Then, the cleaning and sealing crew came the next week and finished the job like everything was fine. A bill arrived in the mail a few days later, of course charging us for a full hour of work, even though the guys were only in the yard for 45 minutes. While the work the sealing team did is very nice, I still have uneven pavers, which I will have to later repair, and since it's rained a few times since the patio was repaired, I already have soil that has completely eroded from the patio because it wasn't repaired in the way we were told it would be. I think it's really unprofessional that I would be told one thing on the phone, and when no one shows up, my phone calls and messages are ignored and the remainder of the work continues on like everything is settled and fine. No one bothered to call and see if we were satisfied with the work; they just sent the bill. I'd call, but I'm assuming that call will be ignored, again. I'm disappointed. We were looking for a company we could rely on for patio repairs, and clearly we'll have to keep looking.

I called at the end of April to set up an appointment for an estimate for the work described above. Victor came out on May 13th and provided the estimate. He was very nice and said they were about 4 to 5 weeks out. I told him I definitely wanted to go ahead with the repairs, and would talk to my husband about the re-sanding and re-sealing. I called the office two days later and left a message that I wanted to go ahead with the whole proposal. At the end of July I realized that I had not heard back from anyone. I have called the office twice, and both times the lady has said she will have T.C. call me as he is in charge of the scheduling. It is now 8 weeks since I received the estimate, and no-one has called me to give me any indication as to when they will be out, or to even be courteous enough to tell me that they don't want my business. I am very disappointed as they were responsive initially, but have turned out to be just like most other landscape companies....unprofessional and unresponsive.

My paver patio is approximately ten years old and was in need of some repairs. Many of the bricks had begun to sink and the weeds were having a party. After searching Angie's List I contacted Paver Care. They came out quickly and left an estimate since I could not be there. TC called the next day and explained the work that would be done and answered my questions. I had no hesitation in hiring them The first crew came in early June and did a fantastic job. They ended up re laying at least half of the existing pavers on the 16 x 30 patio. Their professionalism was exceptional and they actually did more than I expected. They even removed my patio furniture and replaced it when they were finished. Ten days later Jose returned to power wash. He also removed the furniture for me. He explained that he would be back 2 days later to re-sand and seal. After each job the area was left clean. I am looking forward to enjoying a weed free patio. My experience was nothing but the best. I would recommend this company to anyone needing paver work.

I contacted Pavercare about the above issues with my brick pavers. I spoke with Dawn who set up an appointment with me to meet with Victor C. the following week. Victor came out as scheduled and was even 30 minutes earlier on the day of our designated meeting. He thoroughly assesed the problem areas, consulted with T.C., (the owner of the company), and gave me an estimate. Victor was such a pleasant and knowledgeable person. I really appreciated his expertise. After several days, I contacted Dawn to set up the appointment. She told me that T.C. would be in touch with me to finalize the work date. T.C. got back with me within 24 hours and set up a date. The week before the workers came out, T.C. called again to let me know the exact day that the workers were to arrive. The work was performed on the day identified by T.C. He called again an hour before the workers were to arrive. Jose and his crew were able to complete the job in two afternoons. They were extremely professional and pleasant. They did an exceptional job on my seat wall which had begun to separate. They had to re-lay a section of it in order to realign it. Now you can't even tell where the open space was because they did such a fine job repairing it. They also reinforced some sections of the edging on the side walkway and they raised part of the front stoop which was starting to sink in the middle. Jose and his crew worked diligently the entire time they were here. They meticulously cleaned up the work areas after they completed the jobs. They were exceptionally professional workmen and I really appreciated the fine job they did with the repairs. I also relayed this information to T.C. I am so glad that I found this company! T.C. was just wonderful to work with and his superior craftmanship and professionalsim is reflected in all of his employees. Dawn was wonderful to work with; Victor was very knowledgeable and pleasant; and Jose and his crew did a fine job in completing the project. I asked Dawn if they also handled landscaping projects and I was happy to find out that they do have landscaping experts. Dawn set up an appointment for me with Dave, who came out yesterday. He, also, was so great to work with! I have been very satisfied with PaveCare, Inc. and the Prairiepathgroup. I am so happy that I found them. I have already recommended them to family, friends, and neighbors. They are the greatest!!
Description of Work: Paver Care, Inc. repaired the brick front step, edging on my side brick walkway, and a seat wall on my back patio.

The job seemed well executed at the time. It took 2 days. The result looked good and the work comprehensive. However, and possibly due to the harsh winter, some of it has not held up. In fact more of the sealing and joint sand has come undone than in the previous 4 years since the last time the joint sand and Surebond SB-1300 sealer were applied (that time by someone else). I have left messages for TC to return and examine the work now, 9 months later, but he has not responded. I have to add that I am not entirely surprised, as I had a smaller job at a rental property of mine in Chicago that TC said he's look at but never did, even after I left him multiple reminders. I have to assume he felt the the job was too small, but could certainly have said so. I am submitting this poor review because I want to share my now repeat experience of being ignored when things get inconvenient.
Description of Work: power washed, spread joint sand and applied Surebond SB-1300 sealer to my entire front and back patio of Unilock Copethorne brick and cement driveway

All contacts were handled professionally, and with a minimum of fuss. The work was done satisfactorily both as and when requested. The final cost (existing paver repair) was well within the original estimate.

I contaced Paver Care for an estimate. TC came out within 2 days and provided a detailed explanation of the work they would perform along with the price. TC also told me that they would not be able to start the project for at least 2 weeks. After I agreed to the price, they promptly scheduled the work. The crew arrived as promised. It took them a day and a half to complete the first part of the project, which involved resetting the pavers. They did an absolutely outstanding job! In fact, they did more than I thought they were going to do. The head of the work crew was obviously very committed to doing a quality job. He checked a couple of things with me to make sure the work would be satisfactory. The following week, they returned to clean and seal the pavers. Again, they did a superb job. A day after the sealing was completed, I noticed some rather large spots on some of the walkway steps. I had no idea how they had gotten there since no one had been on the walkway after it was sealed. I called TC. He came out and looked at the spots. Even though he had no idea what could have caused the spots, he promptly sent someone out to work on removing the spots. After working on the spots for a while, the crew member decided to power wash and completely reseal the entire walkway! I was very impressed that they were willing to do this amount of work to ensure my satisfaction. I would use Paver Care again without hesitation. I would also recommend them. Their commitment to quality and customer service is heads and shoulders above that of some other paver restoration services. (I know because I had a bad experience with another company a few years ago.)

Company was responsive to request for a quote. Options were explained clearly. Pricing was easy to understand. Dates were set and crew showed up when expected. Crew was not aware of downsput installation per work order but quickly adjusted. Quality of work very good. Clean-up also very good. Would use again.
Description of Work: Reset sunken pavers, repaired gaps in patio steps (required cutting of new pavers), installed in-ground downspout (underneath patio), re-sanded and sealed entire patio.

We are extremely pleased with their work. Both of the projects look brand new. They came when they said they would and did exactly what we requested. How refreshing.

The crew did a great job, they completed the work in two days and did a great job of cleaning up when they were done. They knew exactly what they were suppose to do and even added a couple of very nice features that I did not expect. (extended the very small step out my house to larger step that makes it easer to walk into the house, added a new fan design feature around the window wells that I didnt have before, and left some extra material neatly piled up behind my shed.) i will use them again next year when I replace my wooden deck with a brick patio and new planters. couldn't be happier.
