Winkler Tree & Lawn Care

Winkler did a great job. They were efficient, know what their doing. It took them over a month to come out to do the work, but I was in no hurry becuase it was just a tree pruning. I think they were tied up from some high wind storm problems which is understandable. Would use them again.

They were the lowest bidders. I have used them before. They charged less than anyone else did, we had three bids, to remove the tree and to remove the stump, whereas every one else required a few hundred dollars more. They are also used in our town and in a lot of other towns in terms of tree service, removal and other things. They are the largest and also the lowest in price. They were on time and on schedule. Their cleanup was excellent too. We have used them before and they have been very good on price also. They were quite efficient.

I was really impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the gentleman who came to give me an estimate. I had him look at a couple of trees. I believe that his assessment was honest and candid: He told me that one tree was in good shape and I did not need to do anything. With regard to the tree that was removed, his persuasion was gentle. Again, there was no pressure to convince me to do anything. I gave them a "B" for punctuality, but perhaps that is a bit harsh. When I called for the bid they came out promptly, but told me that it would be at least four weeks to do the work, because there had been a major storm a week or so earlier, and they got backed up. That's OK -- I wasn't in in a hurry to get the work done. One last detail -- they left a "ding" in my back yard where one of the big limbs fell. I can't really complain, because I did not ask them to fix it. But it would have been nice if they had pointed it out, and offered to fill it in.

They are excellent. They give you an estimate, do the work and clean up well.

They were very efficient and they had my huge tree down in five hours. I thought they were pricey, but I had to get the tree down. It fell on my house and my neighbor’s yard, during a storm. The insurance took the part that had fallen on my house and was interfering with the repairs of my house. They did a great job. They work quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and I was very satisfied. They had huge equipment here. It was unbelievable. So, they did a fabulous job. I have no problem recommending Winkler Tree Service, especially for huge trees. They were safe and that was an important thing. They come and give you an estimate. They had a certified arborist there, which is a big advantage. He makes the estimates. He decides what is necessary. When I saw the equipment necessary, I said okay.

Showed up on time to provide an estimate. Professional and courteous. Estimated about three weeks before they could come back to remove the tree and met that deadline. The crew worked quickly and efficiently. They took about two hours from start to finish. The tree was overhanging our neighbor's yard. They did a great job minimizing any problems for him. The tree was also growing around our cable and electric lines, which they managed to work around really well. They did a great job on the stump/roots. The job was billed exactly at estimate.

Winkler Tree and Landscaping was one of three companies who provided bids for this work. Winkler's was the lowest bid. Of the three contractors, Winkler was the most responsive. Their specialist, Tim Taddy, returned my call within four hours and came over the next day to appraise the situation and give me the estimate. We signed the contract on July 27, 2012 but, due to schedule conflicts on my part, arranged to have the work done at the beginning of September. The crew of three arrived at 8 AM on the scheduled day and completed the job in 8 1/2 hours. The removal of that monster cottonwood was an extremely difficult, laborious and machinery-intensive (logger truck, cherry-picker, root grinder, chipper, truck-mounted claw) job. The crew performed its work expertly, safely and efficiently. Communication was excellent. Cleanup was thorough and conscientious. Tim came on site twice during the day to monitor progress and answer any questions I might have. Throughout the entire process, Tim was a fine representative for his company- friendly, knowledgeable, communicative and immediately responsive to phone calls. Also noteworthy is Winkler's strong front-office support. There is always a friendly, knowledgeable office member ready to answer questions and give you updates on the status of your projects. Paperwork and billing is also handled, in my opinion, in a state-of-the-art manner. From top to bottom, this is a high quality, service-oriented company and will now be my first call for any tree and landscaping needs.

Not a good experience. We were looking to switch our tree service and so we contacted Winkler to have them come out to give us an estimate. The representative called me back later that day but we needed them to come out on either a Saturday or any evening to accomodate my husbands working schedule and he replied that he was not available on Saturdays nor evenings. He did seem to think that perhaps he would consider coming out the following evening and would check on it but he never called us back. Not to be able to accomodate a customer's working schedule and to only be available Monday through Friday in the daytime, does not seem right to me. We called someone else who was happy to come out on Saturday and are going with them instead.

They called within 2 days of contact to give estimate. Told me it would be about two weeks before they could do the job. (It was actually 3 weeks.) Came with crew of 4 and completed job within 1 hour. They even did a little extra trimming on recently damaged bush.

We had a large branch fall on the house during one of the recent storms. I had called another tree service company, that I was introduced via an Angies List Special. The did fine for me last year, but didn't return my call and would take over a week to get an estimate. Instead I called Winklers. They had done good work for me in the past and I should not have been enticed to even think about someone else.They came out same day for an estimate and scheduled the work for the following Monday morning. The crew of three was well resourced with a bucket truck and a chipper truck. They made quick duty of the fallen branch and a couple of other minor items. They even took some excess branches I had.All in all, two thumbs up for Winklers again.John P. Kelly

This is a very professional outfit. They came out the same to day to bid the job, not once but twice after I had to modify our original request due to our village codes. I could not be home when they did the work but they did an excellent job, removing dead branches, suckers and shaping the canopies of the trees. The clean up was as if they had never even been there; absolutely spotless.They were half the price of quotes I had gotten from other tree services. We have two very large oaks on our property which will need some work in the next year or so, I will be calling them to quote this work as well.

Excellent in all ways. I've used Winkler before. Each time I'vc gotten other estimates but they always come in near the bottom and I have confidence in their judgements and work.

They did an excellent job. They were a little pricey. They did exactly what I asked them. They shaped everything real well. They did a good job so it was worth the money.

Arranged everything over the phone. Very professional and courteous. They surveyed the tree and bushes and left an estimate in our mailbox. Seemed like a very good price for what needed to be done. Once we gave the go-ahead, they performed the work quickly and without much ado. Even sent us a nice "thank you" card in the mail afterwards. Will definitely use them again.

Winklers is friendly and quick to respond. This is especially impressive due to the fact that this was around the time or the summer 2011 storms and they were very busy with other tree emergencies.

We called Winkler's Tree Service in early March to get an estimate to cut down a dead maple tree. A gentleman came out within a few days and gave us a very reasonable estimate. When I placed the call the woman on the phone was very polite and the gentleman who came out to give us the estimate was extremely helpful and polite as well. Once we decided to have Winkler's do the job they came out within a few weeks (weather related delay). They called the night before they came out to let us know approximately when to expect them. They came within the time frame and were very efficient. As I said the team worked quickly and efficiently to get the tree down. They were careful not only of our landscape but also of the landscape in the yard next door. Once they were finished you could not even tell that anyone had been in the yard. They did a great job of removing any traces of the tree. All the unusable branches were removed and ground up and all of the potential firewood was cut and stacked for us. They were only in our yard for a couple of hours at most. The week after the work was completed we even received a thank you note for using the company. Now I know why I have seen Winkler's trucks in our area for years. I would definitely use this company again if we ever have need of their services.

They did very good. They were right in line with everybody else on price. They were right on time. We would definitely use them again. It was a good experience. They showed up when they said they would for the estimate and the work. They did a good job.

Winkler responded promptedly, providing an estimate for the work the day after the call and neatly clearing the fallen portion the day after that.

I wasn’t at home when they did the job but they did a good job. They did what they had to do. I’ve used them before and I’ve never had a problem with them. They were on time. They did what they said they were going to. They clean up really well after themselves. I’m not sure if they were punctual because I was not at home when they came. I know that they came the day they were supposed to come. I haven’t received a bill yet from them but I know it’s about $450. I will use their services again in the future.

Everything went good with this company. My yard looks great now that they have finished. They were very responsive and efficient with their work. I would use this company again.

.This Elm tree came down on to my patio, my electric, the patio furniture, in short the tree partially hit my house. They came on time and they did what they came to do. They cleaned up. They are reliable. Price wise I did not get any other estimates so I don’t know. Actually one their persons stopped by and was hired. I will use this company in the future.
