Winkler Tree & Lawn Care

The work went great. We had three trees that we wanted removed from our property (two large and ugly pines that were planted way too close to the house and a maple that was sitting along the side of our driveway and which many people - myself included - had almost back into) We also had a large branch hanging over our house which was protruding from a giant Elm tree on our parkway that needed to be trimmed (since the town told us that they would not be trimming the parkway trees in our part of town until at least next year, we took it upon ourselves to get the parkway Elm trimmed by Winkler's after the village gave us the ok). Winkler's was very quick in getting someone out to our property in order to provide us a written estimate - in fact, I think they sent someone the day after I called. We had eight estimates provided for the above work and Winkler's was hands down the least expensive. The next lowest bid was relatively close at $1000; however, after that, the remaining seven bids were priced from $1180 all the way up to $2175. The only slight negative I have to say is that it took a little bit of time for Winkler's to follow up with me after they received my written acceptance of their proposal. It took the contractor for my area about a week (and three phone calls to Winkler's on my part) to call me and get my property on their service schedule; however, the three times that I called Winkler's to get on their schedule, the woman who I spoke with was very nice, courteous and professional. Once the contractor for my area contacted me I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that he was able to get my property on his crews' schedule for the following week (I had been expecting it to take at least 2-4 weeks to get them out to my house). The morning of the tree removal the crew was very punctual and actually arrived early (around 7:40 for an 8:00 a.m. job). They hit the ground running and by the time we had left for work shortly before 8:30, the smaller pine tree was already gone and they were more than halfway through with their removal of the maple. By the time we got home from work they had long since finished and the trees were finally gone and the large Elm branch was trimmed. All in all my experience with Winkler's was excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Workmen were professional. Me. Winkler and came to check the workmanship. The workmen did not leave the premises until Mr. Winkler okayed the job. The workmen get a good clean up removing all the small twigs from the lawn. Mr. Winkler indicated that job would be done in April and it was done on April 2. Everyone was very professional and polite. I would recommend the service again.

The work crew arrived a little before the appointed time. The crew chief and I walked to each of the trees and discussed exactly what I wanted done. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, did exactly what I had asked, and thoroughly cleaned up when they were done, including raking any errant sticks near the chipper. When the work was finished, the crew waited in their trucks, and a little latter the owner drove up. He walked around and inspected the work, and I told him they did a great job. Everyone involved was professional, courteous, and efficient. I am completely satisfied with the work done by Winkler's Tree Service.

We called several tree services but they were double the price of Winklers. It's a little tricky limbing out a pine tree, and keeping the natural shape of the tree.But Winklers did it.

They did an excellent job and we were very satisfied with there work. I would use them again in the future. There price was very competitive.

Ralph came out promptly and left a written estimate, plus made a follow up phone call. He was very knowledgeable and fair. He told us that the tree on the parkway was probably the responsibility of the village, and that he has a minimum that he has to charge. We chose him because not only was his price fair, he seemed to know what he was talking about and did not try to talk us into having extra work done as some other contractors did. On the day of service he and his crew showed up right on time, did the work efficiently and exactly as we needed it done, cleaned up and left. It was a completely professional experience and we would definitely use him again.

Cut a tree limb that I requested to be removed. They were on time and got the job done in minimal time. Cleaned up afterward very well.

Their prices were outrageous to do the work. We had a coupon with them and when they found out we had a coupon, they wanted to go up on their price. We didn't like them.

Great service. Pat came out and talked with me regarding our trees. Zero pressure as far as trying to sell me on services. The crew showed up to remove everything a week later (we were told it would be four to five weeks, no complaints here!). Everything was done quickly and without a problem. I would definitely use them again.

Winkler's responded promptly to inquiry and provided detailed estimate for the trimming of approximately 10 trees, many of which had not been trimmed in over a decade or two. Work was performed professionally in one full day. One Locust Tree in particular was trimmed beautifully and is now the centerpiece of our front lawn. One small tree was overlooked, and the next day the tree was trimmed with apologies. Would highly recommend -- excellent service.

I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for very competitive price, accuracy, safety and professionalism. The company also has state of the art equipment and easy customer service.

The called the day before and told us they would be there at 2PM and showed up within 10 mins of that time. The workers were polite, efficient and showed care in treating our home. They moved lawn furniture out of the way to prevent damage in teh event of a mishap and moved it back when the service was completed.

I called to schedule an estimate with the receptionist. I received a prompt call back from Tim and he lived in the same area so he came out the next day. He was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and even gave us some great ideas on what type of tree we would plant in the future. I received another estimate that was $50 cheaper and called Tim and they matched the price. When they came to cut down and remove the tree they were very professional and cleaned up everything. They showed up right on time and were finished rather quickly. I would use them again.

Winkler came out right away to give me an estimate. Very professional - written estimate left in my mailbox.... Once they received the signed agreement, they were out in a very timely manner to clear the tree debris. Very efficient.

They are good honest people and do what they are supposed to do. I have been happy with their work.

I like that their estimate was good and their price was great. They came out when I expected them to. They were very efficient and they had the tree down in about 10 minutes. The pruning was very complete. They did a better job than I expected. They were very good. They would be the first ones I would call, to use them again in the future.

I emailed them for a quote. They came out the next day or so and left the quote on my front door. $250 dollars seemed pretty reasonable to me so I called up and talked to someone in their office to get the work scheduled. I sent them a check through my Chase bank and asked they call me the night before so I would know they were coming. I got the call on Monday night, Tuesday when I came home from work the job was finished. They only way I would have known they were there, had they not told me, was the fact that the trees had been pruned back properly. There wasn't any mess at all. The yard was spotless. They trimmed back both trees from the power lines, removed all the dead limbs and suckers from both trees. I was very happy with the work they did and will not hesitate to call them again for my future arboreal needs.

They came out multiple times for their service. I have large threes over three feet in diameter in my yard. They were very responsive when I called and were quick and knowledgeable. His price was fair. He gave me a discount because we had several neighbors in a row who needed work due to storm damage. When they came and were working they saw other things that needed to be done so they offered to take care of these inexpensive items. They did not charge for anything they did not have do and they left the property very clean; better than most. There were no wood chips and little branches left. He gave us options on Emerald Ash treatment and explained what we needed to do.

Contractor arrived right on time and entire job was done in two hours including spotless clean up. I was amazed that the lawn and landscaping was in perfect condition when he left. One tree he removed was 40 foot tall but they fell it very gently with no damage.

It went great, the crew was on time and completed the job within a few hours. Everything was cleaned up very well and they were on there way. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

We were extremely pleased with the service. We got estimates from three different services; Winkler was about 1/3 the price from one company and about $200 below the quote from the other. Low cost might have made me nervous about quality, but reviews on Angie's list were positive so we went ahead. Service was provided at date and time appointed. Quality of work was flawless. Work was done within a couple hours. Site clean-up was excellent. Crew was customer service oriented and spent significant time communicating to be sure that pruned tree was done to our specifications. No problems of any sort.

In addition to the above, we found Winkler not through Angie's List but from a neighbor's recommendation. They bid very low for what we needed and in return requested that they be able to fit the job into their schedule within a two week time period. It worked out very well for us.
