Description of Work: I was quoted for injection for Ash Borer prevention of two trees. Service was 'performed', invoice sent and immediately charged to my credit card. I wish the company would contact me before coming or at least knock on the door, but they did not. Invoice says "Today an injection was done as a preventive for the Borers", but there is no date on the Invoice so if you are travelling you don't know exactly when they visited the property. This was injection, so they had to drill tree to perform the injection. I could see one tree was done, but the other was not. I also have cameras around the house and have a record that the technician walked past the tree without perform any service on one tree. |If they did not have to drill the tree and I did not have cameras, then I could not prove they did not perform the work. |I can't trust them and will never use them again.

Description of Work: They were working on my neighbor's tree and I asked them to look at two trees in my yard. One was rather small, 20 feet, and the other was about 30 feet tall. They finished next door and them came and did mine immediately and cleaned up afterwards. I really thought the price was more than reasonable, since I have had tree work done before. I would really use them again.

Description of Work: Removed two trees along with debris from five evergreens that I had cut down previously. They removed the stumps and cleaned up everything. Winkler's is a long known name in this area. They have an excellent reputation, are certified arborists, and lived up to their billing 100%.

Description of Work: This matter came up when my next door neighbor was trying to threaten me with some legal action to have my tree trimmed back off the roof of her home. I contacted my village and was told that either of could hire some one to do the trimming as long as they were arborists so the tree didn't die. When she heard that and the quoted price she decided to pay the fee if |I did the contact work. The work was done quickly and very nicely. She sent |them a check. I called to make sure that was completed. Very well done. Another friend had also recommended them to do the work.

Description of Work: I called Winkler's to get a proposal for the care of our trees. An arborist showed up 1-2 days later to review our needs. He was knowledgeable, professional and polite. He explained the reasons for the services he recommended and answered our questions. Winkler's received strong reviews on Angie's List and the bid seemed fair (we also received bids from 2 other firms), so we accepted their proposal.

Description of Work: We couldn't have been happier with this company. We had a 90-100 foot cottonwood in our front yard which never quite recovered after a severe lightning strike. When only a quarter of the tree greened out this year, and pieces of it began falling, the time had come to remove this huge old tree. We contacted five of the top A-rated tree and landscaping companies to obtain quotes. Winkler's arborist called us back the same day of placing the inquiry call and came to our home to give us the quote within one day. He was professional, pleasant, and, as it turned out from from later call-backs and inquiries, he was always responsive and prompt. After visits from the other companies and receiving all quotes, Winkler's quote was among the most reasonable of prices. The job was going to require their largest crane and the only hitch was needing to wait 2 weeks as their crane had already been committed to a large project out of town. We scheduled with them for the crane's return and they came today to do the job. Five men and four large trucks/cranes and chippers arrived promptly at 8:00 AM and began the job promptly. The tree was down by 11:15 and the chipper was finished and the street/yard/sidewalk was swept clean by 1:00 pm, and that included their lunch break. The crew worked together seamlessly and smoothly. The tree came down in clean, precise pieces as smoothly as a hot knife through butter. It was beautifully executed and each member of their team did his job as well as I've ever seen any crew work (and unfortunately, we've lost a number of large trees in our community and I've had a chance to watch many different crews work together). I had a chance to interact with each member of the crew throughout the morning as I kept watching and checking on their progress. Each man was polite and professional. Watching them work together as well as they did was like watching a ballet, smooth and effortless, while executing an extremely difficult and tricky job. I would recommend them to anyone for this type of job without reservation and would definitely call them again if the need should arise.

Description of Work: Winkler took down 2 very large trees in my back yard and hauled them away. There is an extra charge for removing stumps. they did the work for the price agreed on and cleaned up the area afterwards.

Description of Work: We contracted with Winkler to remove a large mulberry tree from our side yard. We had lost one very large limb in a wind storm. Winkler responded with a two-part estimate, one for removing the large limb immediately and the second for removing the rest of the tree when they could fit it in their schedule, which was very busy due to the large number of trees felled by frequent recent storms. When after several weeks we had not heard from Winkler, a phone to them asking for a date brought a work team out the next day. This team did an excellent job in cutting the tree down and cleaning up the removal area. We definitely will use them again.
