This company was recommended by a very reliable neighbor. When I first contacted Mr. Butters, he was very responsive and set up an appointment to meet with my wife and I to discuss our water treatment system. On the day of the first appointment, he called and advised us that he would be late due to an emergency that needed to be taken care of. OK fine, at least he called. Mr. Butters did finally show up and discussed the water treatment system. I thought at the time that he knew what he was talking about when it comes to water conditioning and equipment needed. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. We received our quote and advised Mr. Butters we would get back to him. We contacted another vendor who actually wanted to sell us the same brand of equipment, however, this vendor worked out of his garage. We decided to go with Mr. Butters because of his "storefront" which after checking out later, is actually a home. We made a decision on the vendor we wanted to use and I phoned Mr. Butters and asked him to send me a contract and we could have the system installed 3 weeks later. The contract never arrived, and I called Mr. Butters 2 days prior to his installation date. I asked about the contract and he said it was sitting on his desk; he never sent it out. I confirmed our appointment for 2 days later for a time between 8 and 9 am. The day of the installation arrived and Mr. Butters called at 8:30 am to advise he could not arrive until 10:00 due to another emergency. I intentionally scheduled the all-day installation on a Saturday so that I could be home. Around 10:00 Mr. Butters called again and said he was just leaving the job in DeKalb and he would be even later. I informed Mr. Butters that I was getting a little upset with his customer service since I am also a customer. Mr. Butters informed me that this "emergency" customer had contaminated water and he paid $15,000 for his system and it needed to be fixed. I asked Mr. Butters how long our installation would take, and he asked me if I would like to reschedule for another day. I informed Mr. Butters that he was scheduled to be at our home in the morning. Mr. Butters became defensive and stated that maybe I should look for another vendor who was closer to our home. I told Mr. Butters that it was up to him if he did not want to do the job, and he again stated that maybe I should look for another vendor. The customer service with this company is terrible and unless you spend thousands of dollars, you may be "put on the back burner." Due to multiple issues with Mr. Butter's promptness, I can only surmise that his operation is very limited. My time is valuable and when I contract with a company, I expect them to arrive as promised. ($2,500)
