Description of Work: Had mystery noise in the hot water pipes every time a valve was shut. After days of attempted self diagnosis, I contacted the plumbing company. The Plumber arrived and I explained my problem. Right away he eliminated loose pipes or water hammer effect. It was discovered to be originating from the hot water heater. He explained there is sometimes a check valve with a ball bearing in some models and sure enough that was the cause of the noise. After removing it, the problem no longer existed.
