We needed someone to install a pair of batteries for a backup sump pump. We had several estimates from plumbers, $600 - $800. Blanton responded to our request for a quote by saying we didn't need a plumber; a handyman could do the job. So we found one who did it for $40. We appreciate that Blanton saved us a lot of money.
Description of Work: he gave good advice.

They showed up when they said they would. Called before to confirm and after to get feedback. The plumber Daniel was courteous and professional. He went over the options with me and did not try to "sell" extraneous services that I wouldn't need. All in all a great experience.

i called them after the first plumber came and offered a quote suggesting the work be done without city permits. They came on a Saturday evening and did a no charge estimate. They opened the clean out and could see the pipe had separated and dropped about 2 1/2" . They insisted on getting permits. He gave me a price of $1850. I checked other prices over the phone on the following Monday and Duane Blanton was not the cheapest but not the most expensive. They agreed to come out on Christmas Eve to complete the job. when they came out and dug down, the pipe was pitched towards the house and had cracks in other spots. the job was now bigger and more work. they pulled guys of other jobs and spent the entire day fixing the pipe, and bringing it up to code with ductal iron in the wall. although it cost me double what was originally estimated they finished that same day and was even able to get the inspector out on his day off. i would have rated them higher but i wonder if the additional work was really worth double the price quoted. i had my back against the wall being it was a holiday and they had started the job

I purchased a big deal that stated $200 worth of service for about $120. Before purchasing the deal, I contacted the office to get an idea of how much it would be to check a toilet that wouldn't flush and possible auger. They gave me a fee for less than $200. I asked if I could use the Angie's List Big Deal and they replied yes. It wasn't until the serviceman arrived that he stated that I could only use the deal if service was above $200. Which meant I had to complete a little additional work of removing the toilet and inspecting even more. So we went with that process since the serviceman was already out and that would have been its own fee. The serviceman was very nice and friendly and I did like working with him. However, I wish I had known that you couldn't use the coupon unless you spent at least $200 worth of service. They removed the toy and the toilet works fine.

Outstanding customer service and a job well done! I would highly recommend Duane Blanton Plumbing to everyone! We have had awful luck lately with having good, reliable technicians who really care about the customer and the job they do at our house but NOT with Duane Blanton Plumbing! They (Duane and Ron) went above and beyond the call of duty to make us happy and make sure the job was done correctly, the first time! Excellent communication skills and again, fabulous service! "Thanks so much" for taking pride in your work RON and DUANE and for answering all of our questions. You guys ROCK! A+++

I called Duane Blanton because a roofer we had called let us know that the leak we were experiencing in our upstairs ceiling was not the roof, but, in fact, a leaky vent pipe, which was a plumbing issue. Blanton said they would give us a free estimate and the tech arrived on the day and time frame he indicated he would. He seemed somewhat put out that he'd have to bring in his ladder to climb into the attic and that it was not an easy access. I had explained when I called that this was not a pull down ladder and it was an access through the upstairs ceiling. Anyways, he crawled into the attic and made several comments about how difficult getting to the location of the leak was. He eventually made it there. Now, the roofer that had come when we thought it was a roof leak had cleared away the insulation from the leaking pipe and had run his hands over the pipe to find the joint that was leaking. He had even taken pictures which I showed to the Duane Blanton tech. Well, after being up there for awhile, he climbed back down with the a fair amount of the piping in his hand!! He explained that the installer hadn't put enough glue on the connections and showed me. I asked why he had removed the pipe and he said it was so loose that it "fell off in my hands". I found this impossible since the roofer had been feeling around quite a bit and the pipe hadn't 'fallen apart' nor had the roofer indicated it was loose anywhere but at the one joint.. The tech then told me he'd charge $519 to change the PVC pipe which seemed astronomical to me. He said it was the location that caused him to charge an extra $200!! So, I said that we'd let him know after a I got a second bid, so could he please put the pipe back so it didn't leak further. Then he told me that he couldn't put the pipe back on but would charge me $79 to cap off the pipe that HE just took apart. I was shocked and asked him why I should pay him? I said I asked for an estimate and he was the one who took apart the pipe (which had been fine but had a slow leak). Well, he called his boss and then offered me $450. I again refused until I got a second bid (and by now I am questioning the integrity of this company) and we had more discussion. Eventually, he agreed to cap the pipe for free so we could get the second bid. Anyways, the second plumber was HALF the cost of Blanton and, while saying anytime you work in an attic it can be tough, said that our location wasn't that big a deal at all. So, I would never call Duane Blanton again. I feel they tried to force me to use them by removing a section of the pipe and then quoting a ridiculous price to fix it. I know Angie's List prefers reviews where the work has been done, but I wanted to let people know to beware of this plumber.

Everything went well, the guy that came out was very personable and helpful providing other insights and comments on what he observed in the house. Everyone I talked to on the phone for scheduling was very nice as well, shortly after the service they called to confirm everything was done satisfactorily. It's apparent they care greatly about the level of service they provide. Highly recommended.

It went well. A small part of my back yard had to be dig up, the pipe replaced, and the dirt put back in the hole. This was done in the winter time. I thought there would be a lot more involved, but it didn't take long at all. We were very happy to have water back in the house, it was down to a trickle.
Description of Work: They replaced a pipe that was leaking water. The pipe was one that brought water into the house. They didn't have to dig up the backyard to find where the leak was, they could tell it was fairly close to the house based on the ground by the house and the fact that my pump kept pumping out water every couple of minutes. I had other estimates which were a lot more expensive because they were talking about digging up the back yard to find the leak.

It was a good experience. I thought it was reasonable. The young man was very neat, very courteous, and he worked quickly. He explained to me along the line what he was doing and why. I have not used the service for a long time and not knowing exactly what prices were. I thought it would have been much cheaper, but I might have been referring to the Roaring 20's in my mind, so to be fair with them I rate them a B for price. The faucet they repaired still leaks occasionally.
Description of Work: I didn't have everything done that I originally had thought because what I assumed needed to be done couldn't be done so I cut down on the service and all I had was the kitchen faucet done. It was dripping and they said it needed to be replaced. It was dripping around, not from the bottom but also from the outside where the joint was.

I called them at about 830 in the morning and she said someone would be there between 10 and 1. Got a call at 11:00 saying they were on there way and would be there soon. Patrick arrived and promptly went to work. He did the prep work and called the office to have the water heater delivered. His co worker delivered the hot water heater an hour or so later and the two of them worked on getting it in. They were friendly and professional. The job was finished and area cleaned up by 3:30.

The company provided service and sent Matt and Victor to do the work. Victor was very quiet and pleasant. Matt was difficult and told me "you cannot do that work under the sink, there is not enough room". He suggested running a line for the RO unit from 8 feet away taking up another undercounter cabinet and running a line in and behind the cabinet. I told him that I was told by the Master Plumber that it would be tight but would fit. The plumbing to the sink and future ejector pump area was installed by a Master Plumber who unfortunately was severely injured at another job and now is a Milwaukee Inspector but does no active plumbing, so this company was hired to finish the job. I was told the remaining work was $1000-1100 for the entire hookup. I hired this company who charged me $1800. The only reason I continued on with then was simply I had the Angies list deal or I would have cancelled. Matt did install the ejector pump which fit in the space with room to spare easily. The filters were changed in the RO unit. I was called emergently downstairs and was told "there is no running water in the RO unit" "something is wrong with your unit". I pulled up the online installation manual and it stated that it takes 6-8 hours to generate a full cycle to have water flow. One would assume a plumber would know this as he told me "I know all about these units and have installed I asked Matt to ensure all the connections (upstairs kitchen sink and lower level family room/Bar) which he stated he did. Before leaving I heard Victor say "Oh we forgot to pull the drain to test the pump" which they did afterward and I hear "Get the shopvac back!!!" as it was leaking all over the cabinet and floor in the lower level. He stated that a pipe he installed was leaking at the union. I was told that if there are any issues tomorrow when the RO filled to call back. The next morning I arose to 2 floors of my house flooded., I called and spoke to Matt who told me "There was no leak last night, it is not our fault". I told him very nicely that there was no leak and he was the only person who did the work and now 2 floors of my house are flooded. He said he would talk to his supervisor and call me back. The supervisor evidently engendered an attitude change and he said he would come out later that afternoon to fix it. Matt came out and "fixed the problem" ensuring me that everything was now fixed. The next morning I ran the dishwasher downstairs and water came flooding out of the pump and again flooded the floor. I called the company and stated I wanted a real plumber who knows what he is doing to come out and fix this issue. I paid $874 in subfloor and flooring repairs, ceiling and drywall repair and repainting in addition to the $1800. The next Monday the company sent out their supervisor who stated the pump was definately installed incorrectly without appropriate venting which caused the flooding. Also, the RO filters were installed incorrectly. So basically, nothing Matt did except set the faucet was done correctly. I would have given this company an F across the board if it were not for the supervisor being exceptionally nice and Deborah (supervisor at the office) not the Deborah who answers the phone (she was rude and seemed irritated) who was pleasant, cooperative and willing to help. They did reimburse me for the $874 and also provided a $50 gift card for my trouble, which was extremely minimal considering that my house was out of order plumbing wise and flood cleanup for almost 2 weeks and a bill which was inflated about 50% higher than other estimates. I would not hire this company again due to this experience or recommend them to a friend.

The gentlemen were on time and got right to work. They were professional. They worked a very long day and I'm not sure they even took a break to eat lunch. They made it their goal to finish the work in one day and they stayed to make sure it happened. The work was done well and they cleaned up after themselves. The cost was below the original estimate - always a pleasant surprise. Would definitely use them again in the future.
