I have used this company a couple of times, and the experience and results are always great. Steve, the owner, is professional, thorough and excels with his knowledge and service. He is punctual, and couldn't be easier to deal with- gets you scheduled quickly, shows up, does great work and leaves the area clean from the work. I am happy when friends/family ask for a referral for an electrician, because that's a no brainer to send them to Bentz. Pricing is also more than competitive, and I'm thrilled that when I need service in this area, I just need to call one company. Highly recommended!

The fridge was on a combined GFCI breaker along with the garbage disposal and two other outlets along the counter. As a result, the breaker kept tripping. The outlets are old and set into the beadboard, so that it's not an easy task to replace the outlets. Instead, they added a new outlet behind the fridge on it's own breaker. They analyzed the situation and provided a solution that met my requirement of a quick solution for now, with a more complete analysis down the road. I'm planning to have them return in the Spring to upgrade/replace the entire breaker panel.

Very well. Flexible and responsive to meet timing of initial set up after framing and then coming back to complete work after walls put up. Steve is great to work with and very good at coming up with ideas to meet your needs.

HVAC guy rerouted to other circuits to get us heat going on a Sunday but leaving us w out power in several rooms. Bentz came out promptly to replace the circuit and reconnect everything properly.

I called Bentz Electric in the morning and Steven Bentz said he would be at my house about 1:30 that afternoon. He called me to let me know he was on his way and arrived when he said he would. He was very professional as well as being very personable. He ended up having to take out the entire switch box and installed a new one. I was extremely happy with his work and company. I definitely recommend him to anyone needing an electrician and I would call him again if I needed to!

Excellent work and professional service. They arrived on time and did the job in the time frame that they said they would. The new panel is a major improvement over what was there. They repaired previous work and brought it up to code. I can say without reservation that Bentz Electric is the only electrician that I'll use from now on.

I lost power to my laundry room out of no where one day. I had a family member of mine who has some handyman type electric skills try and figure it out and he was unable to. So I knew I had to hire a professional so I turned to Angies list and I chose Bentz Electric due to the good customer reviews and the fact he was local. To resolve the issue in my laundry room took two visits. The first Steve spent two hours or more trying to diagnose the source of the failure which could not be identified the first day due to the fact my laundry room was installed into a custom room after the houses initial construction and the finishing of the basement covered access to where electric lines ran to/from. It was going to be a two man job to figure it out and a later date was rescheduled. Steve did not charge me for the two + hours of his time and was only charged a consultation fee of $85. The second appointment date I had my problem resolved. Steve did come with another guy and together they figured out what the previous owners had done to get power to my custom laundry room. It required cutting the drywall in the ceiling of my basement soffit and dining room. They did a great job in minimizing the area they had to cut which lead them to the source of the problem. There was a electric box with some lose wires/nuts which was not properly covered and packed with insulation around it which was also big fire hazard. They rewired everything the way it should of been done originally and installed a new circuit for the laundry room which it previously shared with kitchen lighting. They also installed a new electric outlet I requested somewhere else in my home. The second visit with two electricians was about 4 hours. So the overall man hours was maybe around 10 between both appointments. There was a new circuit installed for my laundry room and one for a additional 1 off outlet i wanted somewhere else. They did a quality job and I would look to hire them again for future electric needs I may have.

Very easy to communicate with, which is very important to me. Very professional work. No more noisy, creaking fan. My new fan was installed in my master bedroom. It is whisper quiet, so now I can actually sleep with it on! I would hire Bentz Electric again for future work.

Steve came out the same day I called to view my project and sent me a quote later that day. His price was reasonable. They did the work the next week and did a great job. Steve Bentz does exceptional work!!! He is very easy to communicate with so makes it very easy to schedule. He has done 3 different jobs for our home. Replaced outside outlet; added outlets in basement and moved others for safety and bring up to code along with fixing breaker; changed & upgraded out c02/fire alarms up to code also. He is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, clean, professional and please to work with. I would highly recommend Steve Bentz!!!

Steve was AWESOME! this was an emergency call and he came right away, he was extremely professional, provided a quick assessment and fix as to what the problem was and was reasonably price! We will use him exclusively for any electrical work repairs etc........

Electrician was punctual, friendly and professional. Garbage disposal needed electrical hook up. The existing electrical cable was too short, so electrician installed an electrical box and added electrical cable to reach the garbage disposal. Nice job!

As always, Steve was great!! We have used Steve for numerous small to large projects around our house. He is always timely and efficient in getting the work done. There are companies that charge more for the same work (as we started with one of those companies). I have referred Steve to friends and family, who have all been happy with his services as well.

After seeing all the A reviews Steve got, I was kind of surprised at the experience I had. I'm under the impression he may be overbooking the number of jobs he takes on. The wiring to the actual ceiling fan itself is OK for the most part. The hole wasn't cut all that well and as such there are some wires visible from outside of the box. I wanted to make sure this wasn't a hazard so I took pictures and consulted other electricians and was told this is acceptable though they did find the work to be a bit sloppy. Mounting the fan was another story. When finished, he only tested the fan at low speed (and I take part of the blame in not testing it on high myself). When I put the fan on high, there was an annoying clicking sound that I couldn't tell where it was coming from. After wasting hours of my time trying to figure out if it was the motor or something else, I found out that the inner most screw (3 per paddle) on all 3 paddles weren't fully tightened down. It's a tight spot where you only can fit a slim 90-degree screwdriver in, so I assume he just tried to do what he could with a normal one. I would have given him my 90-degree driver just like I gave him some scrap wood that I had lying around because he didn't bring that with him either. Just ask, or at least tell me you couldn't fully tighten them down so I know what to look for... The wiring to the switch is where things really went downhill, and this is where it was clear that his main concern was getting to whatever his next job was. The way the wiring was originally ran from the builder was goofy and neither of us could figure out the route it was taking to get from the fixture he was starting from to the switch he was trying to fish the wire to. Again, this doesn't bother me at all. I'm in no rush, if it takes a bit longer to figure things out, so be it. Steve got really aggravated though and while he was on the ladder, he started VIOLENTLY yanking on his sparks (fish tape) without paying attention to the fact that down below, it was banging up all the walls. Meanwhile, he said multiple times something to the effect of "So this is what kind of day it's going to be...", so again, I got the impression he was ticked off that he was running behind schedule. Now to be fair, I'm sure I've added plenty of my own marks to the walls over the years and so they probably needed painting anyways, but why do it needlessly? If it was accidental I couldn't care less... Once he figured out the proper route, he went to run the wiring to one of the switches along the way and shorted out the fixture because he was, again, VIOLENTLY yanking the wiring out of the conduit at a near 90 degree angle. He blamed the wiring the original builders used and don't get me wrong, I know builders use the cheapest stuff, but of course pulling at that sharp of an angle is going to do a number on the insulation. He re-ran the wiring so in the end it doesn't matter, but add that to list of awkwardness. Lastly, and this is what infuriates me the most and prompted me to leave a review that I otherwise would have just "let go", the whole house surge unit. This was actually the FIRST thing he did upon arrival, and the fee was $165 to do the install. I swear he was done in 10-15 minutes TOPS. At the time I thought "****, this guy must be good" but obviously as the rest of the things above transpired my thoughts on the matter changed. It was after he left that I realized he installed a 15-amp breaker in the panel when the instructions for the unit CLEARLY called for a 50-amp. It takes literally 30-45 secs to read the manual which was in the box I gave him, and see the proper breaker size which they have highlighted and is impossible to miss. For $165 dollars, I would think someone could take an extra couple minutes to read the manual and ensure the device is installed properly. I then contacted him letting him know the wrong breaker was installed, and he told me he would stop by to replace it. I told him to let me know when he'd be coming over, and he disappeared. All of the other things that transpired are bad but not making it a priority to fix a job you screwed up tells you all you need to know. I wasn't going to beg this guy to come back out and with everything else that already transpired, I just had another electrician fix it correctly. Waste of $165. I don't know if I caught this guy on a bad day or what but needless to say it was quite disappointing.

Steve came out 3 hours after calling him and was very informative and identified my mistake almost immediately . He fixed the issue quickly and arrived exactly on time. Would definitely recommend him and will use him in the future.
