MR FENCE CO

I used Michael to install a large fence last year, and it went great. I contracted with Michael again this year to install a smaller fence, and he ghosted me halfway through the project despite taking a 50% deposit. Will not respond to emails, calls, texts, and now I need to find someone else to complete the work.

Appointment for estimate date/time was on schedule. Agreed to do work when I was present, that didn't happen. They showed up unannounced and did majority of work prior to my being home. On contract we agreed that they would clean up spoils, they didn't. I had them come back to do this. Install was without issue; although we did find out that they actually installed a corner of the fence over the property line which made selling the property interesting. Within 6 months of install two posts had significant heaving with displacement. I called and spoke with Carol and she refused to even inspect the area without a $500.00 prepayment. We went round and round for a year without the company even coming to inspect. Another company reviewed the work and agreed that it was an install issue and really a simple fix that Mr. Fence could have easily made right. Terrible company to do business with. Service after the sale nonexistent.

It went well. The price is good and the fence is beautiful. She was good. If we have problems with the fence, I will call her again.

In the end everything is very good and the fencing looks great. There was a slow start, since Mr. Fence was pretty busy at the time. The privacy fence on one side of the house was supposed to be installed on the property line, but instead was installed 3 inches in from my property line. That was an issue I chose to accept since the fence was in and done. The actual fence was two different colors which was not Mr. Fence's fault but the fault of the maker - Fox Lumber in Oak Lawn. Fox Lumber did come out and fix the whole thing without any problems to my satisfaction. Carol - the owner - handled all of the communication between VEKAblue and Fox Lumber. The chain link fence is well built and looks great! Carol - the owner - followed the whole process from beginning to end, but the fact that the fence on the one side was not installed on the property line made me think there might be a small communication issue between Carol and the installer. Although I was told I did not need to be present, I wish I would have been there for the installation. I could have saved myself those 3 inches of property.

Excellent service and product. This is the second time I have used Mr. Fence. They installed a chain link fence for me two years ago but I realized I would rather have a privacy fence so I called them back and they gave me the best price and fence. They did minimal damage to the landscaping and cleaned up thoroughly. The fence was installed in record time. Carol is very easy to work with.

The owner, Carol, is a delight to work with. She stopped by several times to check on the work and even told me to call her after the winter thaw to tell her if my gate was still closing correctly. She promised to fix the gate if the winter freeze and thaw shifted the gate in any way. Carol has competent employees and they were pleasant. I would highly recommend Mr. Fence.

Carol was prompt in returning my original call and timely in coming to give me an estimate. She was very informative and gave me all the information I needed to make my decision. She kept me apprised of the progress and generally anticipated my questions and needs. I highly recommend Mr. Fence for your fencing needs.

THIS JOB WAS A CHALLENGE, DUE TO GRADE DIFFERENCES IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE YARD, DUE TO THE NEED TO USE TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF FENCING--BECAUSE OF THE DESIRE FOR PRIVACY ON ONE SIDE AND THE NEED FOR FENCING THAT WOULD NOT OBSCURE THE BUSHES ON THE OTHER SIDE--AND--BECAUSE OF MY ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE YARD ''CAT-PROOF,'' I.E., SO THAT MY DECLAWED CATS COULD NOT ESCAPE FROM THE YARD. WELL, THE JURY IS STILL OUT ON WHETHER--THROUGH NO FAULT OF CAROL'S-- WE MANAGED TO ''OUTFOX'' MY CATS, BUT CAROL DELIVERED A VERY BEAUTIFUL FENCE. SHE SPENT SO MUCH TIME MAKING SURE I WAS GETTING EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM THE JOB. SHE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, DETAILED, AND TAKES TREMENDOUS PRIDE IN DELIVERING A BEAUTIFUL AND VERY STURDY FENCE. CAROL RUNS A LEAN BUSINESS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FANCY BROCHURES, ETC., YOU WON'T FIND IT. BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET EXACTLY THE FENCE YOU WANT FOR A VERY FAIR PRICE, FROM A TOTAL PRO WHO IS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH, HIRE MR. FENCE.
