I recently purchased a condo that needed some remodeling and I decided to start with the floors. Replacing the old ugly carpeting with new vinyl flooring was a priority. The first place I went was to one of the major home improvement retail stores but I didn’t get the help that I was looking for and there always seemed to be an issue. I decided to try a smaller local company that specialized in flooring and has been around for a long time but there were issues with them too. At this point, I started to get a little frustrated but I needed floors so I decided to try Total Flooring in Homer Glen. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by one of their employees. He introduced himself and told me his name was John and that he’d be more than happy to help me out with whatever I needed. I began by explaining what I was looking for and trying to do as well as the issues I had dealing with the other companies. John listened to everything I said and then reassured me that he’d be able to help me out and guaranteed me that I’d be happy with the outcome. John began helping me from that first day and stayed in constant communication throughout the entire process. On the day of installation, John was also able to find the time and stopped by while on his way to work just to make sure everything was going as planned. After all the issues I had with the other companies it was finally my turn to have an issue. The prior night I ran into a situation that caused me to fall behind with several things that I needed to do prior to the install. John and the supervisor of the install crew quickly came up with several options and within a matter of minutes there was a new plan and the installation was back on track. The install crew took over and was amazing. Juan was the supervisor and Carlos and Noe were his crew members. They immediately got to work and when I say work these guys worked. With the improvised changes, I was able to finish taking care of the things I needed to do in one area of the condo while the crew started their work in another area. Now I have always thought of myself as having a good work ethic and to me, I was moving at a good pace but before I knew it Juan, Carlos, and Noe were almost done with half of the condo. This crew was amazing and worked their ***** off and when you work around people like that it actually makes you work harder so I kicked it into another gear and quickly finished doing what I had to do and got out of the crew's way so that they could finish. Juan, Carlos, and Noe far exceeded my expectations and when the installation was complete, I was totally satisfied with how everything looked. John of course reached out to me like he had done during the entire process and made sure that I was happy with how everything turned out. I definitely was and I could honestly say that choosing Total Flooring was the right choice and that John, Juan, Carlos, and Noe definitely made the difference. What to expect: extensive damage, no clean up, no apologies, and a lot of disrespect. We had 3 small bedrooms, 1 hallway, and stairs carpeted. All furniture, old underlayment, carpet, and tack strips were carefully removed by us, the homeowners, prior to the install. As you can see from the pictures, the subcontractors left extensive damage like scratches, dings, grease marks, yellow glue on multiple baseboards, door trims, corners, walls, and the hallway ceiling. We were originally told from the salesperson that these were not subcontractors, they were employees of TF. That was a lie. When we brought up the damage to TF, they said that the marks can be wiped away and that the damage would be covered by furniture. This is not an appropriate excuse for their poor workmanship. TF then tried to blame the damage on us. TF does not stand behind their clients, so we are writing this review to make other potential clients aware. Walls cannot be painted in patches because it leaves hotspots. Entire walls and the hallway ceiling needed to be repainted to cover up scratches, entire baseboards and trims needed to have the grease marks removed and then repainted. Has anyone ever tried to remove grease marks from flat ceiling paint, yeah it does not work. Nothing is more nerve racking then having to repaint on top of fresh carpeting. The contractors left shreds of carpet pieces everywhere for us to vacuum up after they left. 4 vacuum canisters full of shreds. What a terrible way to leave a client’s home. Total Flooring damaged our property, wasted our time and hard earned money, and could not come to a resolution for reimbursement. Shame. Stay far away!

Okay, not trying to be trite here, but Total Flooring really lived up to its name when we built our house. Total Flooring helped us with the design of our floors, the selection of materials, and the installation. We even had an issue with our floors afterward (unrelated to Total Flooring) and they came back and took care of the issue. Of course, it’s about the people that you deal with that make the difference, and the same is true here. Kenny was very knowledgeable about the products and had a very strong design background that helped steer our decisions so that everything came together well. The installers were top-notch including George’s expertise in laying out the tile (floor and wall) and Dave who installed beautiful wood flooring throughout most of our house (Dave helped us choose the right stain match for our interior color scheme). Will use Total Flooring for our next project!

From the sale people to the installation - very pleasant, professional and helpful in answering questions. The flooring looks great and most people are surprised it's Pergo and not wood flooring. They also laid Pergo in my family room 4 years earlier. Total Flooring has been in the community for quite some time. I would go back to them again! We had many questions and they were not rushed or short. The sales staff gave contact numbers in case we had any more questions. Also called after the job was finished to see how things went.

This is the second house that we have replaced flooring with and we always go see Tony at Total. He if very thoughtful about what you are trying to do and what you are trying to achieve and will give advice. He coached us on many different aspects of the carpet that we were replacing and which kind would be better for high traffic areas and which would be a better cost. We love dealing with Tony.

The service was great. Two guys came out and it took them about three days to complete the job. They cleaned up perfect. I would say they are a great company.

From the Salesman Tom Holan Thru the Installers, the Job went very smooth. Everyone was very concerned with how the Job would look and kept an eye out for Detail. The Wood floors and carpet are great. I would Hire this company again and recommend them to anyone that needs a Professional Job completed. On time and stayed until the Job was Complete, We had a Few Items that were not acceptable and they Returned Promptly to remedy the Problems. Great A PLUS !!!

In mid November we ordered the carpeting with installation slated for the 30th of the month for the bedroom and Dec 3rd for the balance of the installation. On the 30th of November the (very professional) installers came. During the install I went into the bedroom to check their progress and to my dismay noticed that the carpet was no where near what I had ordered. I stopped them and called our salesman Neil at Total Flooring. He said they had to complete the install and he would be out to check the carpet. When he came to examine the carpet already installed and the swatch on the sample board, he agreed that it wasn't even close. He contacted the manufacturer, Shaw and now started a discussion with them. They admitted the error in the run of producing the carpet. Neil was in constant conversation with Shaw on our part. Long story short, Shaw could not produce our replacement until a December 20 shipping date. Well that certainly put a damper in our holidays, due to the fact that all of the bedroom furniture was now in my living room and dining room. Since mid November we have been sleeping on our mattress on the living room floor. No Christmas decorations were put up and no holiday entertaining was done. During this whole time, Neil was in constant contact with us, which was certainly appreciated. The end result was that Shaw refused to credit us with any discount at all. It was totally their fault but would not accept responsibility. Total Flooring gave us a discount, which was totally acceptable. They did not have to do this, as they absolutely did nothing wrong and did everything to make this bad experience tolerable. Thank you, Total Flooring and Neil Tongren. i will recommend you to family and friends. I will, however, tell anyone I know who is in the market for carpeting not to purchase the SHAW brand.

I called Friday 4/5/13 to request an in-home consultation/estimate for about 200 sq ft hardwood flooring installation at my home. The salesperson I spoke with told me to call back on Monday to see when he would be available, which I did. After I called for the third time (the salesperson never followed up with any return calls to me), we set up an evening appointment for Thursday evening 4/11. The salesperson never showed up, nor did he call to explain why he couldn't make it. I choose not to do business with people who do not follow basic rules of courtesy and who exhibit a lack of attentiveness to their potential customers' needs. UPDATE: A week and a half after the appointment date I did find the salesman's card in my front yard when I was cutting the grass. It could not have not been secured well to the screen door; that entrance is almost never used. The fact remains that the appointment was to be at 8:30 p.m. I was home at 8:20 p.m. The only phone contact I received was from a store manager after this review was posted.

I called on a Saturday late afternoon and explained what I needed. Basically I only needed carpet to be installed on the stairs to my basement. I recently renovated my basement and installed Tiles. I had a large piece of carpet left from my family room that I saved for the basement renovation. They provided a good quality padding that I asked form. Mark was able to give me a price over the phone immediately after I confirmed measurements. He called me back within 10 minutes with an installer availability. We scheduled the installation for 10AM on Monday (New Year eve). I called the installer on Sunday evening to reschedule for Monday afternoon and he was very responsive and quick to work around my schedule. The job performed was perfect and he was done in a short time. I would highly recommend Total Flooring. Thank you

Total Flooring Inc Total Flooring Inc, price was reasonable for bamboo flooring with installation about 550 square feet. The guy that gave me the estimate was prompt, courteous and responsive. I would definitely get an estimate from them again.

I went to Total Flooring as a result of a poor prior experience . I don't know why I didn't start out here to begin with. Kenny was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help us find a product that we liked. The whole experience was a positive one. Very punctual, follow ups were great, a pleasure to do business with! Speedy delivery of the product and excellent installation (except I see one seam that I'm disappointed about) - Oh Well! can't get everything perfect - no one else will notice - I hope.

The company was reputable, good pricing for quality. The installer made one mistake carpeting our stairs (even after we specified not to), but it was quickly resolved.
