I called this morning and they said they'd send a tech out today. They would call when they had an idea of the time. I missed the call back and called them. The woman said they would be at my home between 2 and 4. They pleasantly surprised me by coming at 11. They explained everything they did and why they were doing it. I was very pleased with the work and professionalism of this company. I was referred to them by my daughter who uses them for her office and absolutely loves them! Now I know why.

This is my rental house. Air Tigers was out about 4 years ago to do the Village of Romeoville renters inspection, so I called them again. They/we scheduled an appt for the 22nd between 8-10 AM. Mark called about a half hour before arriving. I have been horrible about changing the filters and this is the price I paid. The condenser was clogged with dirt and frozen solid. He cleaned out the mess and recharged the system. He was polite and pointed out the problem. I was HIGHLY advised to change the filters on a MONTHLY basis. I have advised the renters of such. I advised Mark that I would call for yearly visits. Everything went well and my renters are now cooler. Everything was wonderful. Thank you Air Tigers.
Description of Work: Repaired the air conditioner that had frozen up.

They're always polite & professional, and we see the same techs each time, so they're familiar faces. They put up with our multiple pets and our perpetual mess from ongoing remodeling projects and just plain clutter. They have a really cool-looking tiger-striped van, too! The only negative we could say about Air Tigers is perhaps that they don't advertise service specials or discounts as often as many other HVAC companies do, and they don't accept competitor's coupons, but they at least do usually give us a 10% discount on services.
Description of Work: Air Tigers are our "go-to guys" for our A/C and Heating units over the years. They provide seasonal maintenance & clean & check services, and make repairs and replacements when necessary.

I asked them to look at my attic furnace because it was blowing cool air and thought it might be a blower issue. They asked if I'd like the furnaces cleaned since they were making the trip. I asked for the pricing on cleaning each furnace and the minimum trip charge (< 10 minutes away). They quoted me an attractive price so I said yes to the cleanings. After the visit, they charged me more than they quoted (though not unreasonable) and they left with the furnace still blowing cold air. After expressing my dissatisfaction, the technician got angry with me on the phone.
Description of Work: Inspected a blower and cleaned 4 furnaces.

At some point, my wife was informed that we would be charged another $275 for the gauge (with installation) and a cleaning ? so total charges for this job would be $410. I thought this seemed high, so I called other heating and air contractors I know through other work I?ve done. I was informed that the price of the gauge was, at most, $40 and the installation was very easy. Therefore, I called Air Tigers, and unfortunately, spoke with Bob (no last name given). Because I had received information second hand, I wanted to learn if the $275 additional cost was a mistake. When I called, I wasn?t necessarily planning on cancelling the installation, but Bob became very rude quickly. He thought I was accusing Air Tiger?s of overcharging ? I wasn?t, but his defensive rhetoric made it clear that something probably wasn?t above board. Instead, I was trying to find out what portion of the $135 would be applied to the installation, and if I would receive a refund if I cancelled the order. In hindsight, I do believe there was something wrong with the final price, especially since I?ve since received other quotes for the same job for under $200. When I spoke with Bob, he asked if I had a quote for less. I told him I did and the quote. His response was, ?then hire that moron to do it.? I only use this to illustrate the tone of the conversation. At one point, I tried to ask a question about the invoice I had received. I was curious to know about the $30 discount. I thought that this $30 was some type of deposit on the labor to be done. Simply, it was unclear on the invoice how the charges were being applied. Bob interrupted me to state that I would only receive a discount if they completed the work. I was also under the impression that part of the $135 I had paid would go toward the installation of the new gauge. Again, Bob interrupted me before I could even ask a question. Then again, with the invoice in front of me, I read the invoice to him ? he simply said that I was wrong and the invoice didn?t state what I could see in front of me. To this point, the conversation was very unpleasant and only escalated resulting in me using highly inappropriate language. My use of profanity at this point at least refocused Bob from calling me a liar to telling me I had a filthy mouth ? I don?t challenge this latter statement, especially when I?m continually being interrupted. In the end, I paid Air Tigers $135. For that money, I learned that my boiler was broken. I?m not pursuing any refund ? I willingly paid that for the trip charge and the diagnosis. The worst part is that I now have to find another HVAC company.
Description of Work: Diagnostic labor and trip charge. see below for detailed report. I contacted Air Tigers Heating & Air Conditioning to diagnose a problem with our boiler system. We called this company because we had used them in the past, and we were happy with the service the provided. The service technician showed up at the scheduled time, and assessed that the boiler needed a new dual pressure gauge – he informed us that he would have to order the part. We wrote a check for $135: $105 for the trip charge and $60 for the “flat rate” according to their invoice. This must be a mistake, and $105 was for the diagnostics and $60 for the trip charge. According to the invoice, the technician was at my home from 2:05pm to 2:25pm. Additionally, $30 was removed from the balance, but I’m unclear what that reduction was for – I simply count it as my good luck. A few days later, Air Tigers called to schedule an appointment to install the guage. I asked for the price of the gauge with installation. They were not able to give me the price immediately, but stated that part of the $135 I had previously paid would be applied to the final bill. They were not able to tell me how much of the $135, however. The technician arrived later that day with the wrong gauge and informed us he would have to return at a later date with the correct gauge. We were not concerned at all since the replacement of this gauge does not affect the operation of the boiler.
