+ -1 moreYou would never know it was added. You would have thought it was there 25 years ago. They did an absolutely beautiful job. It looks nice and (my husband) is able to hold onto it when he goes up the stairs. It was absolutely perfect. It seems expensive and the gentleman told me that it is expensive, but the quality of the Oak wood trim matches the staircase. There was a lot of craftsmanship in it. I was totally satisfied with it. They were wonderful.
Description of Work: My husband is disabled so Step 1 Stairworks put a beautiful railing down the side of my staircase wall that did not already have a railing. It exactly matches the railing that already was up.

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience was excellent. The carpenter arrived on time. He explained what he was going to do and how long he thought it would take to complete the job. He started immediately and explained as he went. The demolition did not take long at all. Construction immediately began and the carpenter (Mike) worked diligently and explained as he went along. The job was completed on time, and looks great. They accommodated our concerns for weight bearing on the stairs.
Description of Work: They were contacted to remove and replace the staircase to our family room/ basement. They planned the design, and gave us their construction methods. The design was definitely an upgrade from the staircase in place. Handrails were added for safety. The gave us choices of wood species and grains. The explained the cost upfront. There were no hidden costs associated with the service.
